Great job. Just wondering if you have any idea how duff got his Gibson les Paul bass he used in 1993. I can get his tone with my fenders jbs but not with my les paul bass
Hmm, but in 93’ when he used the Les Paul Bass it is notable that there was a little difference in his sound. You can “see” the low midrange characteristic of Les Paul Bass mahogany, specially on Saskatoon 93’ concert.

@@GabrielBarberato dispongo de un bajo Yamaha BBN 4, un amplificador Ampeg BA 112 V1, un pedal Sparrow (que es un driver para bajo) y una pedalera Zoom B2. Estoy buscando la forma de arrimarme al sonido de Duff, que me recomendas?
@@sebasalbgodoy Entonces, por lo que pude ver, su bajo tiene más características de un Jazz Bass. Una gran parte importante del timbre de Duff proviene de sus pickups, que son una mezcla de Jazz y Precision. Esta combinación hace que el bajo "retumbe". Otra pieza clave es el amplificador. El sonido de Gallien Krueger es muy característico en su sonido. Creo que para hacer esto en Ampeg, tendrás que esculpir los medios agudos, acentuar un poco los graves y medios graves. Duff no usa pedales de drive en el bajo. El drive proviene de la fuerza con que ataca las cuerdas combinada con el característico "growl" de Gallien Krueger. Ahh, y un buen pedal de Chorus siempre. Podría ser el Ibanez CS9, o el TC Corona Chorus, DOD FX-60, o el rack de efectos Yamaha SPX-90 que usó durante los Illusions (eso es lo que tengo). No conozco Zoom B2, más para ser honesto, te recomiendo que no uses pedaleras mas si pedales. Además de eso, tocar las cuerdas siempre "down down down down down". Duff tiene "raíces punk", así que este es un gran secreto que no todo el mundo ve. Suerte! - Abrazo!

Good effort with those down-strokes for the entire song, takes some endurance! Nailed the tone with the right amount of grit and chorus. I've been working on this one and your playing shone some light on a few parts. Great cover man. Q: With the intro riff, I thought there might be an F-pull off for the E section.. I reckon I hear a half step there, what's your thoughts?

Gracias! It’s just a simple transparent plastic folded in a way that can hold the picks well and glued on the headstock with double sided tape. Got this from a friend many many years ago!

It is a kind of thin v-shaped plastic with double-sided tape.
I don't know exactly how it was made. I got this as a gift from a friend many years ago.
Does anyone know a general idea of what the bass settings for the tone should be?
Both pickups on full and tone open/max. Chorus pedal with slower rate and high depth + a bit of amp tweaking to taste.

Yeah! My favorite of all his basses since I saw on Paris 92’ when I was a kid. I thought this bass had been lost or destroyed, but when I saw it’s still “alive”, I made my own version! 🙏🏻

Chorus effect is the stock Chorus B from SPX90 and no comp.
Compression comes from the SSL 4000G channel plugin that I used for mixing my bass sound. Many thanks for watching! ⚡️

@@johnhareiel5118duff used 15s or 12s most of the time with GNR. Very different outcome. Cabs affect tone more than amp head will
