I came to this album very late -- not until the early 90s. I had heard of it, but never took the time to check it out. When I did, I was gobsmacked (in honor of Ms. Springfield's UK roots). Every song is superb, and the production and vocal performances could not be better. To me, the most famous songs on the CD are the weakest, but even they are terrific. We miss you, Dusty Springfield. In the best way possible, you were one of a kind!
Dusty's vocal phrasing is so elite... no over singing, deft and soulful enough to bring me to tears. The love she received from the black music community Stateside was totally sincere. She is one if not the greatest blue eyed soul singer in music history. What an album this was... her very best imho.

Having my first full listen now, and it's "WOW". Grew up with all the hits, but the album in it's in entirety is a masterpiece.
