- Tore Mogensen from TC Electronic joins Mitch Gallagher to present the SpectraComp bass compressor pedal. The pedal is modeled after the popular MD3 engine from TC Electronic's System 6000 processor and offers transparent and musical compression to tame midrange bark and low-end woof without killing your dynamics. Single-knob compression will keep your mind on the music while you perform, and a host of signature TonePrint algorithms will allow you to explore new tones anytime.

I like the way my bass sounds with the stock Toneprint. No need to edit it or change it. It's badass out of the box. I set it to 2 o'clock and rock. Thanks TCE, best compressor I've ever had.
EXCELLENT DEMO TORE !!
Can you control the volume on this pedal? I am sure its a great pedal but not sure if I'm hearing compression or volume.
Can you edit Artists TonePrints or just the TC templates? Can you view the settings used on the Artists tone prints?
Is this a good pedal to reduce the treble and slam when playing with a plectrum ?
Getting my SpectraComp outta my mailbox from Sweetwater today! =]
How is it?
I'm also curious to if it's good or crap...
I just added to my pedalboard and I practiced a little bit with it.
It really brings the harmonics alive without sacrificing the bottom tones. I believe that's due to the 3 way compressing system for the highs, mids and lows that work separately.
I'm running the SpectraComp right after my wireless before any other pedals. I used a EBMM StingRay with the SpectraComp a hair above 9 o' clock. It's sounding great and balanced through my studio monitors.
I also plugged in an Acoustic Warwick Alien 5, which I always had a discomfort live because my solos would get drowned by everything else. The SpectraComp was at 12 o'clock and really took care of the problem and my low B string was still sounding strong.
This is all with the factory settings and I haven't messed with the TonePrint yet but I really enjoy the idea of having 1 button that I need to worry live. If I want to change the core presets of the compressor or even what the button does as I turn it, I'll just connect the pedal to my PC.
I'm happy with the sound and I believe it's a good product compared to the avalanche of bass compressors released in the past 2 years. Of course, that's all relative to the user and what you're looking for.
I have a long gig tonight, so that's gonna be the real test in a live setting.
Ill need to check it out then. Been wanting to get a compressor to just smooth things out and make my notes a bit more even when I did in to hard with my stingray, was thinking the keeley bassist but if this one works for me and I save 50% thatll be great
+Daniel Costa thanks bro..
Tone Print not working thru my Samsung Galaxy 8 Plus. What's the deal? Do I need to load tone prints to the pedal through PC? Am I doing something wrong?
KJ Try switching to your bridge pickup only
I'd love to see what the tone print editor does for this pedal but can't find a link to it.
Anyone try it with guitar?
+valvenator You find the editor right here: www.tcelectronic.com/toneprint-editor/support/
TOnePrint editor is terrible. It wont allow you to transfer your custom TP to your iphone APP.. So if you store a TP via the Editor to your Spectracomp.. And change to another TP on a gig. You wont be able to recall your custom Tone Print since it cant store to the APP.. I'm surprised that TC has not fully thought that out yet.. And Too many of the TP "Artist" Prints are useless... Until TC gets it together it is just a Novelty and NOT for a pro player..
nice.
that pedal is the tix if your on a budget
Only way to know for sure is to look at the schematic.
does anyone try it with a double bass?
I came up with a toneprint that I use with my double bass with a Realist Lifeline pickup. This pedal shapes my tone and helps with unevenness in volume when playing from the low range to thumb position. I have found it much more effective than an EQ pedal. Be prepared to experiment a lot with the editor program.
it sounds very interesting pedal to me!
Génial ces vidéos....mais pas de sous titre en français :-(
envelope filter??? please, with like a visual sweep or something??? haha
And they still haven't made an envelope filter. It's a huge hole in their lineup.
all i can hear is that it got louder
Welcome to the world of multiband compression: that's what it does when it's working. Louder perceived volume and clarity, and a more even sound with reduced dynamic range.
This one in particular is not really a character compressor.

Great pedal.....need a real bass player for demo!!!!!!
Charlie Aravena Typical comment by a bass player. Can't acknowledge there are different types of bass players. What constitutes a "REAL" bass player these days. What, he/she has to slap or finger? There are tons of different types of players. At least guitar players can appreciate different types of guitar styles. They don't rag on another guitarist because he chicken picks or play a banjo. That's why I can't stand most bass players, bunch a fukn snobs giving the rest of us a bad name.
2:48 who farted?

Sharez Shaun 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
and it wasn't even compressed!
Sounds like it adds a lot of treble and gain... I don't like that...
It's just one setting, this thing is infinitely tweakable in the editor app.
