Good stuff! I am just looking to get into saddle hunting and doing alot of research on different saddles and the Trophyline Cover Pro is the one that I keep going back to. This video is very informative for beginners like me! Thanks!
I have been looking at going the saddle route for the past year, but I just can’t get it clear in my head how to layer up during late season. My typical hunting day involves a 2/3+ mile hike and an elevation gain of 300+ ft to my hunting area. So, I walk in wearing the minimum and layer up after I get in the tree and cool down. How do you put on layers while in the tree, especially bibs with a saddle on?
You have to put the layers on before the saddle. We are very mobile as well and hang everything climb down layer up and climb back up. Ideally we don't climb back down the tree once we start the hanging process but when its below freezing we tend to make an extra trip to stay warm.
@@BornAgainBowhunting thank you for the reply... Every time I have tried to wrap my head around it, that was the only solution I could come up with too. Glad to see I wasn’t just missing something obvious about how to layer while in the tree. 😁. I also realize that some hunters don’t have to worry with a long walk uphill that gets their heart rate up or worry about sweating and then getting cold. Thanks again for the reply.
Hey Spencer G, I hear ya man, I also try to be as mobile as possible, all I have to hunt is public land, always trying to find a spot away from the crowd, use my ebike, Rad Rover to go deep into the woods, am very interested in the saddle hunting idea. I need to be able to carry my saddle setup, sticks and my crossbow on my back, while riding the bike. Trying to figure all the out. No blind, from the ground, on public land with a crossbow, try that on for size, not as easy as one would think.
@@arthurcarstens absolutely the hardest but most rewarding way I've hunted. I also primarily hunt public land. I'm blessed to live in Missouri where there's a lot of areas to choose from. Good luck to you!
The only question I have for the Trophyline saddles (I’m quickly on my way to buying one) is can you hang upside down in them. I’m new to saddles, I like the idea, have always hunted out of a climber but am stuck hunting a buck this year in a place I can’t use a climber. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best so they say. If for some wild reason you found yourself dangling head down, could you fall?
Honestly I'm not sure if its possibly to hang upside down if properly put on. If for some reason you were to flip I'm sure it would hold you but I'm not 100%
Great job bud! Love the video. I have a video on my page with me shooting/practicing out of it. Turned out pretty good. Yours is very informative and will help alot of beginners. Again. Great job!
I know everyone has their likes and dislikes but I am not a fan at all of hunting from a saddle I actually tried one one time or actually a couple times they are very fatiguing especially on your legs and your lower back and after hunting for a while it's almost impossible to stay still because you are so uncomfortable I know this is just my opinion maybe people have better results than I did but I'll stick to my Summit Viper climber
Solid vid on introduction to the saddle. this is the first one I have watched that answers most questions. appreciate the info
Vincent Battiata glad you liked it thanks !
Excellent video. Very helpful. This will be my first season hunting with a saddle setup.

@@BornAgainBowhunting do I need climbing sticks to climb up the tree when saddle hunting or is there a way to climb the tree without climbing sticks?

Thank you. I'm weighing whether to invest in a saddle set up. I'm a very mobile crossbow hunter and usually hunt from the ground. Great video
Spencer Gerhart definitely worth the money thanks for watching
@@BornAgainBowhunting Your recommendation on the package I should purchase?
Spencer Gerhart we have the trophy line ambush pro kit that’s our personal favorite.

Do you find the ascender to be better then the rope one
Great video. Did you use a ropeman 1ascender?
Gary Foard yes sir !
Where do I get that carabiner for the bridge on the saddle?
Amazon has them.

So why this over any other saddle?
See mine didn’t come color coded like that. My carabiners were black and red
