This video is older and she is an adult now.. I googled her since the show. I wanted to see how she was doing. There are several videos with her singing so amazingly. There is also a duet with what looks like her younger sister. Wow the talent in that family. These parents must be over the moon proud.

Amazing, superb , pure vocal prodigy, she takes my breath away. I get goosebumps every time I listen to her. We have had other young talents, with brainwashed opera voices, but she is truly in a league of her own. Her emotions interpretation of every piece she sings, reminds me of sopranos such as Maria Callas, that started a new movement , feeling and interpreting emotions , with every note she sang. Brabant Laura, I hope you go far, very far Mia cara!

Actually a ten-year-old Jackie Evancho was doing this miracle of voices about seven years ago........her audition is around on youtube ..she was TEN !!...please look at "audition Evancho"....make sure you're sitting down.

An Opera usually lasts 3 hours, it is a story narrated by singing. It's so interesting. My favorite opera writer was Verdi, check out Rigoletto or Aida. In Italy we are thought poetry and opera at junior high and high school so it's part of our culture. I hope you enjoy it should you take the time to deepen in it❤

No, it is still a LOT of hard work. That vocal control has to be learned.

I have now listened to this video countless times! I keep returning to take in the beautiful calmness, wholeness and sheer beauty that Laura's voice provides. It is stunning to me that the American audience (and judges) could not recognize instantly that they have a true super star voice in the room! She was 14 when she sang this. Incredible!

I agree. I am positive she is at a much more advanced stage than Jackie. She has unbelievable control of her voice and obviously years of training. But I dont like comparing 2 young girls like that anyway.
It's such a tough comparison Bob. Jackie is such a unique and pure talent, something I've never seen before. But Laura is in another hemisphere, power and performance wise. Laura is just insane. But they both are sincerely and truly unique prodigies.

She didn't miss a note (that I could tell) ... AND she didn't slide/slur into notes. She went directly from one note to the next with a distinct pitch change between those notes. That is a true talent.
