What to chose between g_scratchpad, getReference and GlideAjax in ServiceNow

Instead of GlideAjax, why can't we use g_user method in client side to fetch email address and populate in message?

I am using scratchpad but getting undefined when fetching email I'd in of caller.

check the user having email id or not there is possibility that user doesn't contain email id or other credentials
