    I can't check the audio on my end right now. let me know if this sounds ok. I had to reinstall OBS and the settings might be different. My speakers aren't working right now...so it's tough for me to judge the audio playback. thanks~!

    I remember reading in Wikipedia a while back that Akira was the first comic in the world to be colored digitally, using computers.

    My only exposure to AKIRA was with the Marvel editions colored by Steve Oliff. Incredible art and story. And while the rest of the industry (To my memory) was failing at computer coloring Steve knocked it out of the park!

    I know I mentioned this on a previous video but Steve Oliff is one of the nicest most amazing dudes I ever met. he's the kind of guy who will give you the shirt off his back or the first edition comic book laying on his coffee table.

    hi Rich! love your videos, you didn't do a video about David Fairbrother-roe and I thought you might like to do that someday. (he's the guy who drew Nazareth's 'hair of the dog').

    Word was at the time that Akira was the first ever Photoshop painted comic. Why?
    Because they had to paint without losing the FX on the screen tones.
    All books at that time would have Color Guides and then they would be Photoshop painted and the Photoshop colorist was
    the Color Separator. I guess they were not considered artists at the time. But more of a technician.

    • @Zoltarman
      @Zoltarman 2 года назад +2

      I guess that later on, the Color guides guys, just gave it a t thought. "If I'm going to paint this. Why don't I use
      Photoshop to do this at once and deal with it myself and skip a step in this production."
      Those sets of color pens are very expensive and You only have to buy Photoshop once.

    I bought a couple pages from Steve at a con in 2013. You all would shit at how much the pages cost back then. I got 2 pages with "baby Tetsuo" - the giant bloated gross veiny monstrosity.
