Restoration of a rare soviet Poljot watch - 24K Gold Plating - USSR Poljot 2609H
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 янв 2025
- This time I´m restoring an old russian Poljot watch.
It´s a soviet, gold-plated watch made by the first russian watch factory.
It´s powered by the Poljot 2609H caliber a hand-wind movement with 17 rubis and a shock protection. It beats with 21600 bph and the lift angle of the balance is 51°.
The watch is in bad condition: The gold-plating of the case is damaged, the glass is heavily scratched and the movement is running wild with more then -600seconds/day.
I need to polish off the old gold-plating. After polishing the case, it´s ready for a new gold-plating, i´m using 24 carat gold. The glass will be polished and the movement cleaned. The crown is damaged so i need to replace that one.
After everything is cleaned, polished and re-plated, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a good beat (+10 seconds per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

sick watch, 2609 movement is a beast, hard to break, works like a horse. got poljot myself, superb vintage watches.
nevertheless, 13 seconds of deviation per day, as far as I understand.
@@ВасилийВасильев-с9ж Actually quite alright for a 50-year-old watch that hasn't been chronometer certified. I try to get 15 sec/day deviation on all my Soviets.

The most beautiful thing to see in ALL of this videos is that moment when the balance is put back in place and the watch suddenly “comes to life”! It’s fantastic and I simply can’t get tired of watching it 😊
The balance wheel and pallet fork are my favorite parts of any mechanical time piece because that is where all the action happens.
totally agree

Just wanted to let you know, your komandirskie restoration is what got me into russian watches. I've bought an Amfibia Neptun and tuned it to a respectable beat error. It's nice to see someone caring for those hidden gems of the USSR.

In the West, we joke about many Soviet designs - cars in particular. But I really like this watch! The shape, the colors, and the accurate movement - wow!
I am also happy to see so many positive comments written in Russian! It must make you proud that those who know this watch were impressed with your work. Great job!
We do not joke about Russian ground-to-air missiles or the Men in Green Uniforms.

My father was a pilot and he had a Poljot watch. He would love your work.
I wore a watch like this in the mid-seventies. It was not an expensive watch, but it worked well for many years.
Nostalgia. Thanks for the excellent restoration.
I have a Poljot somewhere around the house. Now I need to go find it. Videos like this give a whole knew appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in creating a manual timepiece.
Это великолепно, тонкая и кропотливая работа..
Благодарю, очень притягательное видео. За советское часы, отдельное спасибо!

The ones that downvote these videos are what I like to call “idiots”.
You made a cheap old watch beautiful and accurate. Respect. Great job.
Inexpensive nowadays, but back when it was new, Poljots were something special. They were the best the USSR had to offer after all.
Love how you do the comparison at the end with the music. It's not just as if you're restoring a timepiece, it's as if you're restoring a piece of history.
Это же какое терпение надо иметь. Респект.👍👍👍
Just beautiful to watch your restoration without distracting music.

It's pretty unbelievable that you didn't actually replace the crystal. Polywatch is a miracle worker.
Yes but finger hurts 😅
Smokers toothpaste works pretty well...
@@RedDeadRestoration hate to be a skeptic, but I actually don't believe it. That crystal is heavily crazed -- you can tell because those microfractures 'shine' when viewed at an oblique angle. Those tiny cracks can't be buffed out. I don't think there's anything wrong with replacing the crystal. But this video make sit seem like you didn't.
Still amazing work and great editing!
Your video glorified another day for me. Thank you.

So 'entertaining' watching this Expert restoring this Russian made Watch. The videoing is remarkably great. No unsolicited background sound makes watching so pleasant. The close up videoing and time lapse is superb. I couldn't help resisting 'wanting' to participate putting back the intricate parts and movements. Great tip putting the rodico on the springs to stop them flying off. I'm just starting out repairing watches (lots of stuff on the way, really exciting) and I'm watching everything I can but that's the first time I've seen that. 5 minutes in and I've already picked up something important.

Very surprised by the intricacies by the Ruskies, didn't expect such sophistication. These videos are fascinating, the Rolex Oyster rebuild was awesome and got me hooked!
I thought that too but then I remembered the House of Faberge and other fabulous art that existed under the tsars. I assumed the communists had driven out the artisanal craftsmen by the 1930s but clearly not.
@@stevetilk4926 The Soviet government placed a priority on their people having domestically produced watches, that's why. All of them, from the basic Pobeda and ZIM to the luxurious Poljot and Luch, were of sound design and of at least decent build quality. For these reasons, the USSR was consistently the second largest maker and exporter of wristwatches for decades, second only to the Swiss.
