    5 Intersecting Tetrahedra is created by Thomas Hull.
    In this tutorial I used 30 sheets of 5x15cm paper and a small piece of paper as a note. Glue is optional.
    I used 5 different colours to make it easier to follow along.

    This was definitely the best video i found for this model! Very good idea to label the first triangle as a point of reference, makes everything a little more clear and less confusing as to where each triangle fits in. Thank you for this tutorial

    This was very very helpful. Took about 3 hours and a few wrong moves that were corrected after watch-stop-watch. Thank you!

    I have done a few of these in the past, the best tips I can give you:
    1. try to make it with the same colors and order as he does it will make your life a lot easier
    2. don't try to make it small size. the bigger the easier, I have done 9x3 cm and it was hell
    The corner marking with the paper is genius..

      i saw this warning, thought "nah i'd win," and proceeded to make it with 3in by 1.5in papers. it was so frustrating trying to get the teeny tiny pockets and tabs to fit in at the very end without them popping open. anyways, i should've heeded your warning, stranger

    A long time ago, I saw this on the cover of a book by Rick Beech, "Origami! 80 amazing paperfolding projects." I managed to complete 1 tetrahedron, but went no further. Your video may just be the inspiration I needed to finish!!

      Go for it, the assembly is tricky and hurts your brain but the end result is beautiful - just keep it away from cats and children

    I found that you can pinch the creases near the connection points to make the pieces stay together much better.

    I agree with others who feel this is the best tutorial out there for this model. Does anyone know the weight of the paper he uses? It appears to be "stiffer" than most origami paper, which would be helpful in constructing this model, which I also agree with others is quite difficult.

    • @LavenderHome
      @LavenderHome  5 лет назад +2

      The paper ratio is 3:1. We used 15cm x5cm in this tutorial.

    • @origamimadness6313

      I’m pretty sure it is if you just have thin sheets of paper and intertwine the pieces together

    • @issie6374

      It’s 6. For anyone who wanted to know. Also I don’t recommend using thin/ flimsy paper as it is extremely hard

    Does anyone have any tips on getting the tips of the units to actually stay in place? Mine kept falling apart while trying to make a tetrahedra. I used 70 gsm and copy paper

    • @LavenderHome
      @LavenderHome  9 месяцев назад

      put glue on the first tetrahedra. the rest should be falling apart easily while assembling. Check the corner(connecting part) if fully insert. When a tip formed with 3 pieces connected properly, the structure is stable even without glue.

    I was doing it with A4 paper to test, and since it's almost 20cm x 30 cm I thought I could just cut It in 8 pieces of almost 5cm x 15cm and it would do the trick. It didn't. Measure your pieces correctly guys :/

    • @kilmameri8844
      @kilmameri8844 3 месяца назад

      I did it exactly like you had, one A4 into eight pieces. I'm currently three tetrahedra in and guys... it's going but I sense the people before me and their warnings. I am still on this path, but if I can achieve success is still a gamble

    • @zohnannor
      @zohnannor 2 месяца назад

      I did that first time with 9x9 pieces which I cut in 3 (3:9 = 1:3 ratio), and then for the second one I used A5 (that has 210x148 mm size) which I cut into 7x21 pieces. Both were pretty easy to do.

      oh no. Try the copy paper or strong wrapping paper. standard origami paper is too thin for this model.
