      Ed Bruce...his song your the best break this old heart ever had..I loved it
      Didn't he pass away ..not to long ago.
      There were so many good singers..
      Eddie raven,charlie rich..keep on Rollin with the flow.
      Connie Smith... beautiful singer...
      Marty Stewart...I always thought he was the only guy that looked good in a pair of jeans...
      That's a few.you could start from way back and do them all.thats a suggestion..
      I love biographies about people ....documentaries.

    I took a trip to Nashville being around 28 in the late 1970's. I came there with a 1966 Dodge pickup having a canopy on the back ( I lived in the canopy when I arrived). I had an accoustic Yamaha guiter, songs I had written and $1500.00 in my wallet. I hung around many clubs and bars singing and performing even making it to the Opry House. I even met many famous people....most of which are dead now. Many told me I had a great commercial voice, the talent to go with it and might go somewhere someday. I hung out on Music Row a lot introducing my music only to be told that there are just to many like me coming to Nashville, they don't want or need anymore out-of-towners taking jobs away from locals just to make it in the music business. After hanging around with many other players, watching them drink hard liqour, getting drunk, carousing around, taking dope, pot, uppers and downers totally wasting away their lives I felt this was not the place for me. I left with my tail between my legs like a whipped pup and about $100 I had left. That was years ago! Since then I live in my home area, took a solid day job but played in many bands, clubs and other venues....even forming my own bands only to be criticized, replaced, beaten down and left very disappointed. I am now 75 years old, retired and live peacefully in a small comfortable home in northern Oregon that means a lot to me. Now I sing and play at our local Senior Center for free, have very good health, good friends and a descent lifestyle and I would not change anything as to where I was tryingto go. At least these senior people appreciate what I offer them and that suits me just fine. If I were to persue a music career trying to write songs and perform even getting a hit record, with the grind of such a taxiing career, I would probably have died many years ago. I just didn't need the desire to sing and perform that much by wasting away my health like so many others and shortening my life by living a very dangerous, lonely and tragic lifestyle.....!

    • @CMSProductions
      @CMSProductions  Год назад

      And you forgot one important part. You did everything on your own terms. In addition you do what most people never do. You tried. You know what that life style is like. You are not sitting there wondering what if like so many people in this world. It takes a certain amount of bravery to do that and you have that bravery.
      Your story puts me in mind of my brother. He also tried to make it in a music career, although he is a die hard rocker. I think he is very talented.
      In the end I always come back to the story of Faron Young. Who for many years was on top of the country music scene. Then as happens with most performers they are replaced with the next generation. They have to move aside in popularity. In Farons case he couldn't stand it and decided to end his life.
      My hat is tiped to you Sir.

    • @georgeforyan113
      @georgeforyan113 Год назад

      @@CMSProductions Thanks for the compliment about bravery. All I wanted at the time was to become an entertainer of country music and that gave me the incentive to do what I did. But seeing the side of such a destructive avenue it would take me and shorten my life....I felt it was not worth it! I may have had the talent with my voice and such, but the politics, the abuse from publishers and managers, and even the public I would have had to deal with....It was not for me!

      They were considered to be part of the outlaw movement because of the way they bucked the recording system at the time. There was the outlaw movement among country artist and there was the outlaw music which Willie and Waylon were the fore runners.

I don't think you would say that publicly if you couldn't back it up, would you? I am a very strong women's advocate. I hope he isn't one of those assaulters. His singing and charm would attract women; hope he doesn't use that for nefarious purposes. I LOVE his singing, I'm a fan, but I certainly noticed your post.
