Wonderful setup! I would count myself quite fortunate to have a similar setup in the future! Clear Skies, my friend ❤️

She's a beaut' Lee. A real original solid construct that has it all built in, including the vital view to the south - excellent. What a great club you guys must have down there. I hope you all survived this rotten summer and let's all keep on smiling and hoping it gets better. Clear Skies!!

It’s always nice to see how other astronomers setup their observatories. Cheers!

Lovely observatory Lee. I love the old refractor setup with the electronic clock control for AC synchronous motors. I have an old Motrotrak V that was used in my homemade mount with a 7.5" Byers RA drive. Today the control has been upgraded by a Synta Skywatcher EQ6 mainboard with stepper motors for GOTO functions. Some timing belts and pulleys were incorporated for this adaptation. Hugs !!!

Great observatory ! I have dreamt about getting my own since the beginng of the 90s. It is a bit costly. I live in a dwelling area with quite a bit of light pollution. I have a 60 mm refractor, also a Meade 70 mm Goto ETX which unfortunately is broken. I have a 6", 8" Dobsonian both Newtonian and then a 12" Newtonian made by myself also the mount installed with a Dob Driver II. I have also an old CCD autoguider, but just tested once.
I see the great need to have an observatory to do photography and possibly CCD imaging because of the great hassle to get all equipment out, set up, alignment, troubleshooting etc, then take it all down again in the middle of the night pheww... Help observatory needed !
I have done some videography on the planets, some good results on Mars. But because of the hassle, difficulty with much snow outside in the winters, I haven't done it for over 15 years !
