@@TheCommodoreProductions i feel so motivated every time you put a video on here , I took part in a competition to make a 60sec film hope everything goes well fingers crossed 🤞
Big fan of your work. You actually inspired me to buy a G85 :). I have a question, if possible. Do you have issues with panning? I get judders/pulsating when panning (most noticeable on white/bright colours) I'm using 25p/50 shutter. Can the SD card have an impact or this? Also, do you use the latest firmware? Thanks!
Thank you! I don't have much issues with panning - I use manual focus and I think I have the stabilization feature on (I don't recall on the top of my head sorry 😅) but the SD card might have an impact on it, so a faster card to read and write would be best. I think I have the latest firmware, but I haven't updated it since I bought it 3 years ago 😅 unless it's changed. Hopefully this gave you some insight and could help you!
@@TheCommodoreProductions I made a sample recording if you have time to look at it. Is this normal when panning? For me it looks a bit extreme, almost like frame skipping. I also noticed that on YT it's less noticeable then when playing on my pc. watch?v=P3VmhDIoG8g
I admire your work so much man! Can you please please please post a tutorial on how to master manual focusing coz you know how bad Panasonic' autofocus is. PLEASEE
Such a great job man! I myself am getting real close to shooting my feature film with the Panasonic G9 as the main rig and on the Gimbal I always have my G85 ready. With Meike Cine glass! These cameras are insane for their value. I am still debating though whether to film with a Natural profile or maxed out cinelike D profile which gives me almost RAW flatness (With the highlight shadow setting turned to -5 highlights and +5 shadows)
Thank you!! Haha ya the G85 is a beast 💪🏼and I think for your profile picture settings, that'll depend on your grading style essentially. I think if you lean more towards the cooler or maybe more of a desaturated style in coloring, then choosing the cinelike D profile is perfect for that. I like the natural picture profile for skin tones and sometimes more warm coloring
One of your best vids yet! That shot at 1:36... noice! Sound effects, camera angles, edit, grade were top notch! Great stuff! Hey I mentioned an idea on your last vid and was wondering if you saw it? Basically I was suggesting doing an "up-res" experiment with your g85 4K footage by running it through a program like "Topaz Labs" or something similar. It would be interesting to see how next-level you can make the footage. Would make for an interesting vid for your channel too I reckon :)
Thank you so much! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 And yes, I saw your previous comment - trying to formulate a video that encompasses this and maybe some other cool things - but definitely on my list of creating for sure 👍🏼
You never fail to amaze me with how powerful this little camera is! I couldn't help but notice you used a Pro-mist filter, have you encountered any issues? I got a Tiffen pro mist for my g85 but have flaring issues on the 25mm 1.7 lens. Any recommendations, should I get a NiSi instead?
Thanks!! Ya this camera is a beast 🙌🏼 It depends on the density and lighting environment for me. if I have a "heavier" or "denser" mist filter on, like a 1/2 filter, then I might encounter some flaring if the light is too strong. This happens sometimes when I do night shoots with street lights and city building lights where it blooms too much due to the lights. I think flaring happens too if I recall, but mostly just blooming If I have a "lighter" or "less dense" filter on, like a 1/8, then it's more subtle with the bloom effect, sometimes not as noticeable, but does not encounter flaring as much or at all. Hopefully this helps! I also think the Tiffen is a solid choice, just which densities you are using (at least I had worked with a few and had other experienced filmmakers use them professionally - however I never did a side-by-side comparison with the NiSi, which I think would be a good thing to look into as well, but I think it shouldn't be too much of a difference)
@@TheCommodoreProductions thank you so much! Yeah the flaring is definitely the biggest deal breaker for using the Pro mist especially at night, however what confuses me is that it’s a 1/8 and the footage is completely unusable with bright lights. Wondering if maybe a switch to NiSi would fix that issue? I love the bloom I get out of these filters but it’s weird my pro mist has completely different results haha
@@kubafilmss I think then if you're able to rent it out from the camera store, or if NiSi has a return option for just trying it out, or ask within a facebook community to rent or try it out - I would look into those first before purchasing just to test it out for your purposes and make sure it works as expected For me it works well for my situations for both day time and night - the 1/8 works perfectly for night lighting shots, sometimes I do 1/4 or even 1/2 and don't run into too much issues

It's crazy how good the G85 can look in the right hands. This could easily pass as RED footage.
Haha the G85 is a powerful little camera 💪🏼
Great work as always! You inspired me to push my G85 beyond its limits and I love filming with it.
another great vid from the g85 legend!

Wow... footage looks like an ARRI or other higher-end cameras. Stunning visuals.

love how the work is more with the lenses and filters vs doing too much on color grading :) ! Masterpiece!
thank youu!!

Impecable as usual! Great message as well. Did you use a tripod at all times? Images are super steady! 👏
Thanks! I mixed some tripod shots, but for the majority it was hand held 😁

How can you get the tripod shot on a airplane?
I didn't - I just stood still 😁
