- Transporter consoles are being tampered with at many locations throughout Federation space and Captain Clinton Dodge and the crew of the USS Hood are ordered to track down who is responsible for committing these crimes. The trail ends at the Shire, an outpost in space in the remote Andor sector. There, they meet and join forces with the local law, Sheriff Qwee. This is a first look at The Federation Files crew of the USS Hood. Can Captain Dodge apprehend those responsible or will the renegades slip through and escape Federation law? What are the moral implications of the crime committed and what happens when you come face to face with a Doppelganger?
This episode gave me the full flavor of the Classic Star Trek Seiies. Well done!!
I agree hehe TOS eppisodes like this are like fine wine xD LOL or should i say fine vintage wine XD unique in many ways with a variety of flavours and multiple plots based on the storylines and themes to fit the TOS 23rd century era ;3.
This was really good. Great twist at the end. Thanks to everybody for your hard work 🙂🖖
An excellent effort to capture the feel of the 1960's-era Star Trek, and a good story as well
SUBSCRIBED
This had me from the moment of the "head tilt" by the entire bridge crew... GOOD STUFF!
Thanks Gary. To have those appreciate the work is the highest reward.
Now, this is classic, traditional Star Trek and we need more of it! The USS Hood was one of the Constitution-Class starships featured on the original STAR TREK ("The Ultimate Computer") and it was great to watch it and its crew in action like this! Splendid casting and a unique story too! 🙂
Maybe a little too unique. Do you believe the original Star Trek would engage in substituting a clone for someone's lost husband?
I just found this. So I will add my 2 cents about how great a film this is. Thanks keep up the good work.
This episode is truly fantastic, straight out of the original TOS! I loved the ship a perfect replica of the original starships! The actors were a veritable pleasure to behold with their superb acting skills! I salute you in this cosmic endeavor! I cant wait to see new episodes for this great bunch of people! I look extremely forward to watching all the episodes already made as well! I envy each of you Super~Star of these Treks, how I should enjoy to be among these fabulous people! :'-))
Dang that was good. You guys deserve an Emmy, or better yet, a weekly series...
Congrats on a job well done.
So nice to see the true spirit of ST again in fan films
I loved this one! Captain Clint was excellent, and I loved his crew too. I hope we get to see them again soon
The next installment featuring Captain Dodge, his crew and a compelling story is expected to start preproduction very soon
Interesting story and excellent acting! Thank you!
Rewatched this one, really good
We're not going to leave anything left to chance? How about, we're not going to leave anything to chance? And yes, that was a great twist at the end! Very well written episode.
We try our best to stick to what is exactly written in the script. In this instance, the actor slipped in an extra word; which happens from time to time.
@@thefederationfiles8938 Completely understandable. Thank you for your great work!
Great production...loved it! (I always suspected the transporter could prove to be a source of mischief.)
This really feels like TOS. I LOVE this crew, and hope to see a lot more of them.
Thanks Patrick. We hope to see some more adventures on the USS Hood.
great video
I love the credits on the view screen nice touch and great uniforms and sets
A very awesome job on this episode I like the shuttlecraft scene a lot very good animation and the guy listen in on their conversation kind of reminded me of Harry Mud a very good job indeed.
The CG work is a new passion and eager to do more in the next episode.
I really must say, this is a really nice episode. Good actors, good story, nice special effects, well shot. I really enjoyed it very much. Thank you!!!
Just as it was in the begining, an interesting storyline easily circumvents any issues created by budget restrictions. I am just appreciative it was more than 15 minutes long. I am not sure if its due to the pandemic, or some other factor I'm unaware of, but so many of these fan made videos are simply too short. Phase II out of Ticonderoga, and Star Trek Continues out of Kingsland turned out longer shows like yours, but they both seemed to have ceased. Besides, I'm always in terested in different takes by different characters in a familiar setting. Kudos. Hope to see more
When we get comments closely comparing our stories, production techniques or feel for the original series, it's a huge compliment. Thanks for your kind comments. This is our 10th episode in the Federation Files universe, so please check out our other episodes on our RUclips channel or website, www.thefederationfiles.com
Love the nod to JRRT (sherriff of the shire), very reminiscent of TOS! Great job, bet it was fun to film.
Extremely, fun.
Well made, I like it 👍
Lovely work everyone.
That's our paycheck; your appreciation.
Super! I enjoyed it throughly!
Thank you. Goal accomplished.
Great stuff- well done 👍
Well done buddy, you fitted me in very well, and well done on everything else. As I only make 6-8 minutes videos and know how long that takes, making a 42 minute video must have taken forever. But you got it done and you should be happy with it done. Thanks for the mention at the end.
So honored to have your cameo in this one. Thanks so much. And yes, it took forever.

" If you tilt your head 15 degrees youll notice the resemblance of the twin moons of Romulus " .
I didn't hear her say " Simon Says " .
I didn't move ....
I Win 👅 🎉🎊
Great story line good darn actor's too. Nice one keep it up and thank you.
Excellent film,a lot of really keen work gone into this! Makes some of the original Shatner episodes appear amateur and not too well thought out. Let's see more of this!
Very good , loved the end scene
Totally enjoyable. I'm watch it for the second time. I actually missed parts in the first go around. And, it's better the time. What other (if any) shows do you have?
We have a total of 10 episodes of The Federation Files on this channel or you can go to www.thefederationfiles.com and watch there.
Very well done...thank you...
Well put together.
I like the design of the Shire, very unique
A mash of various CG models and if you look real close, you'll see a couple Easter Egg space ships docked in various places.
Nicely done, a great Fan Film.
That ship at the beginning reminds me of one of the Kazon ships.
Honest critique: The acting sounded a little flat at first, couldn’t tell if that was an editing issue or not. In any case it smoothed out nicely. I can’t imagine that your budget is a fraction of what Paramount is spitting out and your end product is far superior to their drivel.

THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!!
The impulse engines @ 7:13. Why are they blank?
So "John" is a doppelganger? They seem rather cavalier about having a crew member getting killed.
Yes, you guessed it. This story was about what would happen if a person died and technology existed that could bring them back to life and the logistical and moral questions surrounding if it really happened. Thanks for watching.
Congrats to everyone who made this episode. Great sets, story, banter and white.
Looks like The Gold Cost in Oz ,,, This is so much better that ST Discovery!!!
Did I count 6 different Reynolds? My, what a prolific clan! And 12 credits for Mr. Wolfe? And you guys filmed this less than 100 miles from me in Harrison? I'm so disappointed, as I would have LOVED to observe.
Although there are a few Reynolds cast and crew members, we are not all related. Thanks for watching. More to come.
I want to see the captain with the glasses jacket and tattoo make a appearance in mirror universe where thats just how he dresses normally.
Working a reprise of some of the cast for a new story.
I ran across this channel thanks to a reference over at ST Avalon, which I discovered recently. Great work all around!
Am I correct in understanding that Smith was killed by the force field and replaced by a duplicate?
You are correct. Hence the title of this episode and the ramifications of "what if". Thanks for watching.
@@thefederationfiles8938 I must confess that I am glad this is fiction. The philosophical problems involved in recording a "bio-signature" and then generating a duplicate human being with it are somewhat headache-inducing... ;-)
For me writing, the thought of where the spiritual essence went; back to the doppelganger or no soul at all. Questions always expounded upon in science fiction.
@@thefederationfiles8938 (You wrote this? It is an interesting spin on the crime of human trafficking! ) Yes, questions like this have been expounded upon, in many forms, in science fiction going back, I think, a century or more. I expect it will continue to do so for a long time to come!
Really good story as well as acting - enjoyed it a lot!
Thanks for watching.
Despite being lowbudget, this is one of the best fan films. The writing alone was enough to carry this film. Casting was well done too
Really liked this episode. Hate to nit-pick but the scale of humans to the scale of the shire (12:30), 1000 people would be packed in there like sardines.
Still good
The SFX are pretty lacking (considering the 'standard' in fan films nowadays) and the 'twist' with Smith seemed awfully cold for a Federation crew. Nonetheless, not a bad ST story.
Not a huge thing, but may I suggest you trim the red carpet around the transporter, or put a frame/ring around it, as it appears a bit tattered.
Okay, so the show has, had a "pocket-lint budget". So did the "original series", as I recall. And look where THAT went!
@@WalterDWormack214 I was merely making an observation that could be easily implemented with minimal funds. TOS budget was probably 100 times this shows budget in 1966 dollars! So I'm not expecting perfection, nor even close to it .
Obviously, the Hood is long overdue for a refit.....
That 15° head tilt got the same reaction out of me😂😂😂😂
I get the impression that the twin birth thing may be a reality?
No one in the cast or crew was expecting twins, that I know of but we tried to cram as many references in the episode about twins, doubles, duplicates, etc. We hope you got them all.
@@thefederationfiles8938 TY!
Well I did use my memory of having my own child to work off of how I acted about expecting and having the twins.
The beam over to the station was wrong...the transporter operator should have pushed the levers forward not backwards.
Transporters in the TOS universe use the sliders in the "down" position to beam from that location to another. To beam back to the transporter console location; sliders "up"
Of all people,Glen Wolfe is NOT gonna get it wrong, didn't you 'get' his cameo?
Give that Doctor a haircut and a black dye job and he'd make a decent McCoy.
Did... did they cloned John Smith?
🖖
wow that elder man in the 2nd scene looks so like DeForest Kelley
Pretty good but cut the old man's hair
Clint always gets his woman!😉
OMFG. ( Please ) (Please ) When you people make Fan Trek take 15 min out or your busy schedule and look up the Star Trek Technical manual from 1975, and or the Constitution Blue Prints from 1973, and stop using the wrong hull numbers on your filming models.
There is a Canonized list that was approved by Gene Rodenberry that Franz Joeseph made that list the construction/registry hull numbers. There are only 2 mistakes to this list, because of when it was made, and Franz missed one of the ships from TOS.
NCC-1703 is USS LEXINGTON (.) Period. Its not HOOD. That is NCC-1707 (.) period.
In First Frontier, they have NCC-1703 as ENDEAVOUR. and then they blow it up.
And they spent the money to film an 11 foot filming model of Enterprise, that is a better build than the original in the Smithsonian.
I am working on a 13 foot 1/4 inch Model of the CONSTITUTION which is 1/72 scale.
It makes your fan productions look worse when you screw up the numbers.
Thank you for watching our episode. We take great pride in researching and making sure we stick to canon as much as possible. Our research in choosing NCC 1703 USS Hood led us to several sources that confirmed the USS Hood had the designation of 1703. We are sticklers for details and we are confident our episode is spot on accurate. I'm not sure why you are so bent out of shape insulted but anyone can do a search to find multiple reference websites confirming this. Https://memory-alpha.fandom.com

grate sets and costomes this is cool animation Lol this is about Carona virus isnt it. lol smoking onboard star ships is not allowed though in the future they stop making smokes :)
Doppelganger was written 3 years ago and just coincidence that a virus infected the "Shire". Another example of cinema predicting reality. Thanks for the positive comment and thanks for watching.
?
How can anyone say this is good? it horrible.
Campy and outdated. Feels exactly like a TOS episode! 😅
I preferred this to the few Discovery and Picard episodes I've seen, as it doesn't shit all over men or play identity politics. It told an interesting story, without resorting to 'splosions and shiny things.
Exactly what we wanted the story and production to do. Thanks for watching.
Despite being lowbudget, this is one of the best fan films. The writing alone was enough to carry this film. Casting was well done too
Thanks for watching and enjoying our work.
