I just love watching queer ppl talk it’s so empowering, you guys can talk about literally nothing and I would stare in complete admiration for hours, specially as a queer person from the Middle East having representation is not a thing here, but ppl like you guys who have a platform for everyone and how you carry yourself give me and a lot of ppl a sense of universal visibility to everyone who identifies as a queer person .And that is my way of thanking you for existing and giving an unintentional reason for ppl in the other side of the globe to exist.
Hey Muna! Idk if you’ll see this, but Annihilation is a metaphor for how trauma changes us as people as well as our DNA. It’s a fantastic movie but adding that piece of depth to it makes it even more fascinating.
I've never seen an episode of sex and the city, vanderpump rules or real housewives so I didn't understand most of what you were all talking about but I still loved this episode!
The Goonies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This movie rocks. 5/5. I believe that The Goonies is a Halloween movie because the events take place on October 24th, I love that. I used to watch this movie a lot growing up and it has a very special place in my heart. I always tried to convince myself that I could learn the Spanish speaking scene with Mrs. Walsh, Mouth, and Rosalita. Data is a total BA. “That’s what I said! Booty Traps!” Destroys me because of Ke Huy Quan’s constant innocence with this character. Not to say that other cast members don’t radiate that same light, but Ke definitely channeled the coming-of-age dynamic in a way that I feel the other cast members do not. This cast reminds me of a Voltron/Megazord, each a vital part of the progress of the plot. Without one, the magic would fall apart. This film is one of my favorites, if not my favorite film of all time, because of this support-beam cast and crew. Not to mention the legendary Cyndi Lauper’s banger of a track. I don’t want to say d*e because of Sean Austin’s monologue in the well. I would recommend The Goonies to anyone that’s come from a town-town, if that makes any sense. It’s very towny. Very “old barn by the creek, Old Person So-And-So”, while still maintaining adaptiveness perfect for any season. It could be a snack movie, holiday movie, or a silent film. Worth the physical copy 4K ULTRA HD WITH BONUS CONTENT, worth the memorabilia and ripoffs. On the low, look up the Japanese release poster. BA. Great segway into RKL, The Lost Boys, Superman, pirates, ice cream, and those restaurants that seem like they were made for the elderly. Naomi, I am not going to make a Letterboxd account. I hope you can forgive me, I can only imagine how difficult this must be. I almost forgot my favorite scene and line. Okay favorite scene-probably the intro with the overture or the organ scene because it makes me feel cool because I might be able to play those chords. You would have to play it though, because if I played them it would not be good for anyone. Favorite line would have to be either “Hey, you guys!”, “Kids suck.”, the Fratelli singing, or “The History of Astoria.” My favorite lines are typically always for the delivery and overall density of emotion. I like the idea of asking the director if you can do something and they say “Don’t tell me, show me.” I hope that’s how it was on set. Also props to Mama Fratelli. My highschool government teacher would make jokes that sometimes reminded me of her. Shoutout to, at times no kidding my grandma away from home, Dianne Francis. I feel like she told me she would kick my ass if I kept ditching class, she never ratted me out. 5/5 The Goonies! Oh wait, lil tidbit of lore! In the intro scene , look for the trailer in the hills. That trailer was one they used for the crew! Also there is a deleted scene with an octopus, but no spoilers. You are gonna love it I swear FROG (for real, on God). My bad I forgot cinematography, costumes. Every scene reminds me of a picture in a thrift store which I love. Also I feel like I could find the costumes in a thrift store. Setting rules, I didn’t know Astoria was a real place for the longest time. Cave looks cool, pirate ships are awesome. Don’t know who the director is or anything else important for a review but respect to all. Five out of five stars.
