Are restaurants open? Or is it all home cooking at this point?

Many restaurants are still open but some close earlier than before. So just double check the business hours. 👍

Honestly I thought Zacatecas City was operating like normal even with the pandemic. Indicated in June and July 2020 footage from other youtubers, people were running like normal and wearing facemasks at their own discretion. They even still had large street markets and live music then. That's why I wanted to move down here. Escape the gestapo based propoganda I reside in already.

Yes, initially Zacatecas had fewer cases in the summer than the rest of Mexico. However, it appears that cases have recently spiked in the past weeks. We were told by family to avoid going to the capital or to other nearby hotspots. So we mainly stayed in rural areas about an hour away close to Jerez to reduce the risk.

@@NoDigasNoJustGo that's understandable. I'm trying to plan a permanent move down there from the USA. I'm still undecided on moving to or around the capital in Zacatecas but I would move on the merit the USA is becoming a more rogue place to live. I did briefly look at temporary settlements and in the capital, I found apartment rents that were the equivalency of $70 USD a month. I'm still undecided about settling. As far as Spanish, mi español es pobre. But zacatecas is still a great state. Perhaps the weather I hear due to being up on a mountain is colder next to most of Mexico but still a nice place. I guess my decision would be to move somewhere down in the state that's still running like normal.

@@ddouglas8161 Zacatecas is beautiful but does get very cold in the winter so it is something to consider. Hope everything works out and good luck on your move!
