Ah yes, I too remember the intense carrier battles between the kriegsmarine and the Soviet navy.
Well said comrade. Hard fought ones until the germans finally were able to capture the large dutch "AA-focused" warships, helping them win the wars at see.

@@Choukai_Chan Next thing you're gonna tell me World of Warships isn't a historically accurate game because the Allied Germans, Russians, Americans, French and Japanese fight the Axis British, Germans, Russians, Pan-Asians, Italians and Dutch! Preposterous!
The meme is starting to get à bit old, yes, we know there are paper ships in the game, because hey, it's a GAME, not an accurate representation of historical naval combat...

I feel like I'm playing old-school cvs again! One launch, one drop. Pick a high AA target, get roasted.
First cv in a long time I feel like I really have to be careful of being deplaned.

eh, i mean, not much risk of being deplaned health be damned when you only need to spend a second at most inside the vast majority of AA bubbles, less if they're 5.8 or smaller.

WG so need to make a British version of the Skip bombers and put mosquito's as the squadron, I will then buy said carrier and play it exclusively.

Dam the max range on those skip bombers makes them really good in some cases. Especially against ships with only low range AA damage
If CV player is a noob these CVs gonna be useless.
These CVs actually require skill to play, remember if you lose some
planes your alpha strike will be much lower. You have to pick good
targets, avoid AA bubbles bc if you lose most of your squadron you won't
deal that high damage.
IMO all CVs should work like this (entire squadron strike at the same
time)
The idea of big squadron small attack is so fk idiotic. Hakuryu torps
for exemple. Hakuryu has huge squadron size but SO WHAT? It can only
attack with 2 planes while and the rest of the planes are shredded to
pieces by the aa. It's stupid, pointless, frustrating and unrealistic...
It's also frustrating for surface ships bc even very good AA means
nothing (CAP fighter means nothing too bc of that stupid idea), it does
not reduce dmg delat by the attack. This system in my opinion is
frustrating for both sides. Full squadron attack at once is much better
bc it require skill from the cv player and gives surface ships way to
actually reduce CV dmg.
Why not just reduce dmg per torp/bomb/rocket and make this system more
fair for everyone?
In my opinnion these soviet CVs are step in the right direction. I agree
dmg per torp/bomb/rocket might be too high and these are just soviet fantasy ships, but concept is very good.
But in the right players hands they’re immensely strong. I average way higher in my chkalov damage wise than in any other T8 carrier ( and MVR lol) and I’m afraid they’ll nerf her
While I agree with the whole squadron attack, the whole point of the "rework" was to take away the CVs ability to nuke ships in one pass and make them more accessible. Ofcourse that also meant nerfing AA some so you could actually make more than one pass.
Now you have CV haters remembering the "good old times" when AA could shred the squadrons before they could approach and take offense when CVs can get a single pass off. On the other hand you have CV players that complain about pitufull DPM and now gutted rocket planes.
TT, I think you want to attack horizontally with these dive bombers. The horizontal dispersion is mitigated entirely, and the vertical dispersion is heavily mitigated by the superstructure. It's like horizontal bombing destroyers at point blank range way back when the rework was first released.
there is a gap between sides when you drop horizontally, I got better results like this
I got her too it's actually pretty fun ship after enterprise thus is a nice refresh
those skip bombers get me a naval battle bar on even the most vicious matchups
I like how WG countered literally every "bad" (aka balancing) aspect of the Russian CVs.
Slow? Give them a take-off boost and longer engine boost than normal.
Low alpha? Give them a fackton to trop.
Low HP? Only let them strike once. This negates a lot of other negative things as well.
I've been playing Kaga and Cosack in ranked yeterday and faced off against a lot of Chkalov's. I noticed most of them had no worries about flying into the fighters I dropped in kaga since many of them could fly into the fighters over a target hit that target and then be recalled before the fighters could do anything. As for playing cossack I had no issues playing againt Chkalov. I'm well aware of what to expect if a cv decide to come after me and i'm pretty decent at dodging their strikes. They just felt annoying though a they could get a 2nd set of planes over me very quickly and it's their ability to keep me perma spotted that was the problem.
What a sales job, I'm tempted.
I just hope that the tier 4 gets Po-2s

I'd say chkalov is like a soviet kaga. Not specifically. It doesn't have as much planes as kaga or anything but it is strong in its tier. And is really fun to play. New soviet cv's utilize the land masses in wows maps to the most extreme point. Dive bombing Island hugger cruisers back to back with no planes lost is really engaging to me.
Toptier, what mod do you use for your team display? Is it through ModStation or from another mod program

I like Soviet CVs but A simple ISE or Tone squadron has more HP than Komsomolets and Serov planes

Chaklov is nice CV but he have mamy bad luck with MM. My first 10 battles was with full tier X or half IX. It's hard to find space there to deal DMG and don't get sweeped to the kingdom come

I kinda get why Su-2 have such low HP. In WT(cuz why not) the Su-2 is the soviet early plane and when it faces late ww2 AA, it will just disintegrate.
Also the torpedo bomber look like you strap Su-2 body with Pe-2 wings
Kinda excited for Nahkimov to release. Got the perma camo as my first random bundle, so decided to get it since I had almost exactly 1k doubs. Better to get it for 1k now than 5k later
Any merit in taking the torpedo arming distance cpt skill? did the math and it takes off like 83m on the arming distance which is quite a bit since its % based they get the most out of it
It’s situational. Chkalov from my experience personally is more focused on the skip/dive bombers, with the torpedo bombers being a nice side. I would rather take demolition expert however if you prefer torpedoes (which are not bad on the Chkalov, they are just slow; think Erich Loewenhardt) then you can’t go wrong with it.

When soviet carriers are going to be playable?
They are, you just have to complete the missions within the "Aircraft Bureaus Rivalry" event, get the tokens and purchase the carrier bundles in the armory

Skip bombers look op. Every other squadron looks meh/situational.
Torp bombers? Have you seen the spread? Even DDs can't dodge that easily.
@@knightworld3019 easy to prop juke for dds because of long arming time/high distance. Smaller spread is actually more of a handicap against DDs than a benefit

She is different but you should test tier 8 Soviet silver before decide

Is the plane rebuild time fast?
Yes, but you also have enough reserves for 2 or even 3 strikes if you have the equipment and skills.
I thinks it’s like 1:05 minutes for torps, bombers its 35 or 45 seconds per plane (with skills and equipment).

I hate that after firing it snaps back at ship i cant even see whats happening wouldnt buy cant see dmg and explosions

the Chaklov is capable to kill Tier 6 CV like Ryujo and Ranger. in one attack.

According to WG it's not supposed but with there update something breaks and does not get fixed for a long time you know the whole it's working as intended mantra that WG gives

@@muhatsy2455 slow squadrons with no HP. You need to know how to use terrain to get perfect drops off. Know what ship to go for and which one to avoid. Also you’ll have to learn to drop for longer range. Once you know all of thats the RU tech tree carriers are monsters! But to start to learn all of these things it’s better to start with a Kaga imo :)

This should mean german BBs should have been way more accurate in the game and have a kind of passive radar. 1) Kremlin literally use radar rangefinder instead optics yet has one of worst long range accuracy in game
2) Germans "feel" inaccurate because of their barrel amount (they literally use same dispersion of standard BB pattern otherwise)

@@F16enthusiast Go look at their both photos. They have a very similar look as those, that got designed at the same time and for the most part - for similar tasks. And TBH, because of the scale of the WG game - more minute details are not well modelled. It is better to compare models from Gaijin game.
SBD is FAT compared to Su-2. Su-2 is just better

You’re joking right? Cvs are the protected class of WG, the real class that WG hates and is always fucking over is BBs

Battleships are their most hated class; WG wants a fast-paced playstyle and BB's are the exact opposite, battleships do good in slow and static metas. Thus, WG always seems to find a way to kill them faster via HE spam, torp spam, or overmatch etc.
Exactly also the abilty to spot anyone from anywhere on the map with no risk to your own ship is downright busted and for that alone CVs will always be the most busted class in the game even if they nerfed the damge of cvs. Meanwhile battleships in the current state of the game exist as nothing more than damage pinatas to be farmed by every other class of ship. Also dds may be powerful but at least they have to get their ship somewhat close to the target to do anything a CV can sit in the opposite corner of the map and still do damage. Im not gonna say cvs dont belong in the game because that is a stupid statement to make but to not acknowledge that they are the best class in the game and to even further imply that they are underpowered is just wrong
@@KittyFoxKitsune and if u wanna try and argue that AA is a counter to a CV it really isn’t most decent/skilled CV players can easily dodge flak clouds, the only part of AA that can stop a strike completely, and still land their strike even if it costs them 2 planes, which they will just regen back, and skilled CV players do a good enough job of managing their planes they never even run out even in the face of a ton of AA, hell if you are watching this channel you should already know all of this.

overpowed as aspected and for that it feels like a punsh in the face ... only the best equipment (he bombers, skip bombers and torps), takeoff bost which gaves nearly the same advantage like faster planes, so many planes that its hard to get out of them .... why should i play now any other cv? kaga? perhaps and the rest? .... thats the reason why this game gets even worst ... soviet power over all ... the question now is: Kaga or Chkalov? I still don't understand why and HOW the torpedo bombers fly in formal festive formation while dropping torps in a battleground. While being shot at. Like make the spread a little larger. Make the damn thing avoidable. There have been cases that a pobeda dropped a spread nose in on my Nagato and I still ate 3
