When I was ten , my friend's cat fell from her 27th floor apartment and lived. When I was in middle school a neighbor's cat rescued me from a huge dog that jumped our fence into our backyard and came after me. That cat showed up out of nowhere and cracked open a can of whoop ass on that dog. Possibly saved my life. I grew up having mad respect for cats.

11:30 I have a nearly blind cat and this is true. The trick to taking care of one is to not move things around often like furniture or the cats stuff. They can sense well but having a stable environment is helpful. Makes them more confident and at relaxed.

It WOULD work for humans, but we have a higher weight to size ratio, so not nearly as well, plus our reflexes and instincts aren't as good, so we might not even be able to pull it off. But if someone DID manage to perfectly splay themselves out like that and maximize contact surface, yes it would increase their chances of survival. That's why you occasionally see stories of people surviving falls they absolutely should not have.

Because of being around cats all my life. I took interest in them to the point I turned goofing off with my cats to train my self in reflexes. I irritated them enough to get them to claw at my hand and I had to read their muscles movement and timing.
Just recently I was at a grocery store. This annoying fly was buzzing around. A customer in line with me and my wife was next. The fly crossed me again and I snatched it out of the air with barely a thought. Instead of taking it out of exists I let it go so. The person behind us was shocked. Asked if I train in martial arts. Other factors can also influence the smell rain produces'.
Geosmin is in the earth around us produced by bacteria, so if it's a bout to rain/storm and there is enough moisture in the air we can smell it before it happens.

Yes, my outdoor tabby Archie had superpowers! One day, years earlier, I stepped out on my porch and I saw him up on the roof of the garage. It is not attached to my house. I called him and he ran as fast as he could, across the roof, down the big oak tree, across the yard and right up to me!! I swear it just took him two seconds, maybe!!
I couldn't believe how fast he was!! I barely blinked and there he was!! That was the day I changed my opinion of cats. I already was impressed by them. But then I knew they were superbeings. But alas, they get old, too. He was mortally wounded by two dogs in that garage when they jumped my fence going after him. He ran to the right place but his lazy ass owner had not shut the door between the garage and house completely and the dogs followed him in. It was just awful. I still miss him :(

Cats have extra skin that gets splayed out when they stretch out, which adds more wind resistance. Yes, cats can fall from more than 100 feet and can only have minor injuries. It is not guaranteed because cats can be hurt and killed sometimes. I like dogs, but favor cats. Cats are cool.
What I would suggest is to go to a cat/animal shelter and spend a few days if only an hour at a time, and see what cat will adopt you. Cat owners know we do not own the cat. Cats own the home and like to allow the people they like to live with them. Cats have their own personality, much different than dogs. And yes, if the cat thinks you are family, they can warn you of a lot of problems - people having illnesses, leaking pipes, storms approaching, and other situations.

3:48 This is because humans are generalists while most other animals are specialists. We are pretty good at a broad variety of things (eyesight, smell, taste, vocalizations, atmospheric analysis...), but the very few traits we do beat the rest of the animal kingdom in, we're only marginally better at. While some snakes outrank the rest of the world in reaction time by leagues, humans' ability to throw things with accuracy is only a few steps above the rest. Our generalization in a broad array of traits combined with our unique trait of cooking are why we're the ultimate apex predators on this planet. Other animals have venom, big teeth, size, speed, you name it. But we have an insane variety of tools at our disposal. "A jack of all trades, master of none, is better than a master of one."

If you have a sweet cat and treat it well, women will fall at your feet. Just make sure you go to an adoption center that has free roaming cats. That way you can see how they interact with other cats and people and most importantly, you can easily put in your applications. Because, no, you don't go and buy a cat. You need to put in some applications and hope one of them choses to come home with you to boss you around. If you let the cat pick you, you will get one of those enviable cats. I got 3, they follow me around all day long like dogs. AND NEVER pick out a kitty because its cute/pretty. Only get kitties that seem like they want to LOVE you. And then, imagine you bring a girl back to your house, your kitty is sweet to her and lets her pet her lots and just purrs.... but then, kitty comes to you and starts rubbing on you and purring.... you have just shown yourself to be marriage material. You'll make a great father. Even if that relationship doesn't work out, she'll probably still stick around longer because of the cat. I once dated a guy longer than I needed to because he had an awesome dog.

I smelled a storm the other day, and within 8 hours we were in a flash flood. The air just smells like wet energy

We humans are pretty broken too...
We can sweat, the best thermoregulatory system in nature for hot climates, which also allows us to run for hours, while most animals, cats included, can only do so for a couple minutes at best. Our ancestors hunted prey by running it to death due to exhaustion, a very nasty way to die.
We can digest starch almost instantaneously in our mouth due to a super saliva, which means that by the time it reaches our guts it's already turned into fast sugars, perfect for an energy boost. By the way, cats cannot digest starch at all, so it's useless to give them rice, bread or pasta.
We have insane hand to eye coordination, which allows us to throw things with deadly accuracy and lethal force, among other things. If anyone asks how our ape-like ancestors could have survived in a land full of big predators, it's because they stoned them to death from afar. And then they ate them.
We can swim like amphibian creatures, much better than most other mammals. And we can also hold our breath for quite a long time while underwater. We also can still climb pretty well everything that can be climbed, despite not being arboreal creatures anymore.
We can turn basically anything into a tool or a weapon, including other living beings.
We can eat almost everything, especially if we have a fire and a pan, including our own predators.
We can read minds. We have the uncanny ability to discern what other creatures are thinking, what they are doing, why they are doing it, and so on. It's almost as we can put ourselves in their metaphorical shoes. And it only takes a few glances.
    And I could go on...
