Man that thangs perty. When you love em, they’ll love you back. My 03 SR5 has 196k miles on it so apparently it’s just broke in. I hope it out lives me and I never have another car note again. 🤙🏼
Bought my grandpas 05 tundra and it has 157k miles and runs perfectly and has amazing power and decent speed. I have mine in all white with a high rise canopy, leveling kit, some pretty aggressive tires I forgot what size but man I love the thing I try to keep care of it as best as I can although it used to be stored in a garage and now it stays outside which I’d rather have it in a dry spot but beggers can’t be choosers
Same got a 05 tundra in grey running total chaos control arms upper and lower fox 2.5s all around some shit ass black xd co wheels on 33” baja crawlers shits so fun gotta search up how u undo the traction control in em it’s a plug in the engine bay thing whips donuts like crazy 😂
05 TRD at 193k and she’s running fantastic. Truly a truck you could keep for the rest of your life. Edit: Beautiful truck by the way. I’d love to do a build similar to this with my Tundra
This is what I need to hear !!! I am thinking about buying a 2003 Tundra, good deal on it...has 167k miles tho.. A little hesitant but, from everything I'm reading, the truck is gonna last if I take care of it. If I can keep it another 100k miles+ I would be happy. It's only $7500
Would you say a 285 is a taller tire than a 275? I'm running 275 55 20's but I want to get a better turning radius, what size would you recommend? thanks!
I’m torn between a 1st gen Tacoma and 1st gen tundra which one should I get? I’m trying to go camping, get a dirt bike, and and off road the truck every now and then now rock climbing just dunes and such.
My 2000 tundra's got 400,000 first rust is on the left rear wheel well, I have a set of non true 35".. 315/70/17 waiting on the rims still, definitely like your build a lot
Please revisit the hids in halogen housings, the only way to do it without blinding oncoming traffic is a projector retrofit, hidplanet can tell u more
SmokedOutHemi 2 the 4.7 makes its power down low while the 5.3 really needs to rev out to make its power. personally I prefer the 4.7 but that’s probably because I own one. 5.3 is a better option if you plan on doing a lot of mods though
Your truck is awesome man. I have a 2004 tundra double cab 4x4. Just installed 2.5 king coil overs and Camburg uca’s. I’m having an issue with the control arms. They hit the top of the show mount (the bracket where the coil over bolts on top) when I go over bumps. This is obviously not good. Did you run into the same problem?
My only issue with this truck is the woofer. Other than everything is clean. I installed an under the seat sub. It’s not as loud as yours but it gets the job done
What would you recommend for an 07 Toyota Sequoia limited 2WD? I’m going to be using it for towing a power washing trailer. Really need the best suspension possible.
The headlights are stock. The clear front corner lights (front turn signal lights) I purchased on ebay years ago. They were for the 2000-2004 tundra, so I slightly modified them to work on my 06 👌
Awesome looking truck. I have always had a tough time finding light bars/off-road bumpers (front&rear) and still to this day cant find any for my 1st Gen Tundra.
Very nice. I just picked up an 03 sr5 (dark blue) let the mods begin. Gonna be doing a midtravel setup like yours in the vid because its my daily. And its cheaper than LT.. Lol
Hey mike what did you do with the old camburg setup after you put in the new camburg long travel? I have a 2002 tundra v8 with almost 290000 on it. and I want it to look and run just like your 2006. How much will that approximately cost?
Awesome truck man. I have an 02 and now have the bilstein 5100s on the very top notch per your advice 👍I want ko2 tires as well but dont want to trim. I was thinking about 275/70/r17 , but would 285/70 rub at all without spacing the wheels?
Rick Guell- I use to have the Bilstein 5100's up front with a 285/70/17 and had no rubbing after doing some very minor trimming. The 285's look great on the 1st Gen's 👌
Mike French any issues on the transmission or anywhere else that may come up from 285/70/17s ? Is that to the point to where o would need to re gear anything because of the extra weight of the tires and wheels?
Rick Guell- I ran the 285/70/17's for 6 years and had no issues with the drive terrain. Toyota builds their trucks very well, so the 285 tire does not necessarily require any modifications to the drive terrain (like re-gearing). If you plan to do any real offroading (like driving in sand ect.) Then you should get an aftermarket trans cooler with a fan. I would say that re-gearing the rear end is only essential if you run a 35inch tire. I haven't re-geared mine yet, but I will before I do any crazy offroading.
Mike, beautiful Tundra. I have an 03 Tundra that I'm thinking about making some modifications to. You've given me some great ideas. I was wondering how's the ride with those BFG A/T tires? I'm getting ready to install a set. Thanks.
Awesome truck! I have an 05 limited crew cab with 210k miles and I love it (other than the time it broke a ball joint). I want to replace the radio/cd player, but my speakers are all shot so I need to replace those first or do it all at once, I guess. How hard is it to do the speakers yourself? Or would it be worth it to have someone else do it for me? I wouldn’t be adding a subwoofer or anything.
What is the off-set / back spacing I would need for a 17" wheel in order to fit 285/70/17 on my first gen? 5100s are on the top notch. Just want to make sure I order the right wheel. Looking at Level 8 MK6 wheels. Thanks man
@@Toyotafanatic-jr1rx cool, that sounds good to me. Is it rubbing on anything that you could trim slightly? Also I was wondering, roughly about how much do the tires poke out with a -12 offset? I'm trying to decide between a 8" wide wheel with -10 offset, or a 9" wheel with -12 offset. I dont have aftermarket fenders or anything. Thanks for the reply man👍🏼I have an 02 access cab 2WD by the way.
Bro keep going I’m going to do very similar things to mine I’m trying to really go all out. I’m thinking about putting a supercharged on mine! Anyway great vid have some good ideas
Sick truck. I have an 01 silver Tundra with JBA shorty's, Flowmaster and a K & N cold air intake along with some other mods. I would like to get a similar set up of with tires and Camburg. Any advice would be great.
Looks good. I have pretty much the exact same truck. I have a 2000 Toyota tundra however I'm running a LS swap.. I'm curious however what fenders are you going to be running? I've been looking at Fiberwerx but not sure what to get.
Robbyota 559 - I bought fenders and besides from Advanced Fiberglass Concepts. They bought out GlassWorks Unlimited and got all of the good molds. The glass is hand-laid and very high quality. Made in Costa Mesa C.A. 👌
Mike French , Awesome thank you for the info. That's just a couple hours away. I live in Fresno California now used to live in San Diego. I'll have to give them a call and pick up some new fenders.
You got a sick setup brotha! I’ve been waiting for your break down and it didn’t disappoint. I got a clean 03 first gen Tundra I bought off my pops and you’ve got me thinking of upgrades since seeing what you’ve done to yours. Since your swapping to a full travel Camburg would you be interested in selling the mid travel your taking off? Did you also flash the truck with intake a shorty header setup?... thanks!
Hey Mike I know it’s been 2 months since your video but I recently stumbled across this video I have a 01 tundra myself and I’ve been trying to find the carb legal high flow collector on your truck and can’t seem to find it is there anyway you can send me a link please?
This video is 5 years old and still looks better then half the 1st Gena here on RUclips
Badass truck 🛻 bro
1st gen sequoias and 1st gen tundras are so underrated
Man that thangs perty. When you love em, they’ll love you back. My 03 SR5 has 196k miles on it so apparently it’s just broke in. I hope it out lives me and I never have another car note again. 🤙🏼
You have one tight Tundra. OUTSTANDING from a 40 year USAF C|C Aircraft maintenance career field.
Truck is a best I have an 06 200,000 miles on it runs perfectly! The 2uzfe will last for ever
Truck looks healthy.
This is exactly what I want to do with mine except I’ll have a flatbed and I’ll get rid of the bad oem lbjs

Edit: Beautiful truck by the way. I’d love to do a build similar to this with my Tundra
I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra SR5 wTRD package. Mines at 510,000 and still going strong, super reliable and shows no signs of slowing down.
Luis Vasquez this motor has gone 1 million miles. See you tube video of 2007 with 4.7 .
Jon Smith Yee I’ve seen this video bro but those are 4.6L V8s mines a 4.7L so still kinda different
Over 500k miles. Holy shit
because it’s a toyota
2003 Tundra SR5 (4.7L V8) - 167k miles - $7500 /// good deal or nah ?! Looking for a truck that's gonna last...
Those trucks have good engines, I have a 2005 Toyota extended cab with 350k still running
This is what I need to hear !!! I am thinking about buying a 2003 Tundra, good deal on it...has 167k miles tho.. A little hesitant but, from everything I'm reading, the truck is gonna last if I take care of it. If I can keep it another 100k miles+ I would be happy. It's only $7500
Beautiful 👍🏻👏🏻
You legit have everything I’m trying to do with my 01 SR5. I love it man.
😎🤘🤘
i got an 01 limited
@Hunter Perry almost 250k on mine
310k on mine
good looking frame
i have a 2003 sr5 but i cant find those hid headlights anywhere

Get a 2005 or 06 Tundra with the 4.7 V8. You will not regret it 👌👊
Should I put lockers on my 03 tundra doing a off road build was wondering if it's a must
How did you get the clear headlights to fit the access model cab?? Most only fit the 4 door been looking for them !!
Were the Hella horns hard to install?
Can I just get fox 2.5 shocks
this bodystyle is so underrated
I have an '03 and a '16, and in many ways I prefer the '03.
Nice truck man. I just picked up a 03. The way yours sit is perfect for my needs! Thanks for the pointers
You're welcome dude! Good luck with your Tundra build 🤙👊
I just got a 2005 tundra but the body has like wide body
What bumper is that? I have ole chrome bumper
That is a beautiful gen 1 tundra. I still want one for that V8 power yet smaller body than the new tundras.
beautiful truck do you have a list of links of the mods you put?
My 2000 tundra's got 400,000 first rust is on the left rear wheel well, I have a set of non true 35".. 315/70/17 waiting on the rims still, definitely like your build a lot
What’s the spec on those tire?
Where can i buy the grill
Please revisit the hids in halogen housings, the only way to do it without blinding oncoming traffic is a projector retrofit, hidplanet can tell u more
I ran defiant for years. They were super solid.
Awesome set up I've had my 03 tundra since junior year of HS. I finally payed off my truck and have enough money to start modding my truck.
How much is the truck worth right now ?
Wish I could find a new bed color match and almost free.
What size lift do you have on that to fit them 35" tires?
Awesome setup btw
What gearing should I do for a 03 tundra build
My 2000 TRD still has a wrinkled and faded Motor Trend "TRUCK OF THE YEAR" sticker on the rear window. 250K and solid in the woods and the freeway.
does anyone know where i can get clear side marker lights, the mesh grill ? i have a 2001 tundra extended cab sr5 rwd. 3.4l v6

also what is the name of the color of the truck? the actual name .
Nice tundra, lift wheels tires look perfect ,what more do you need?
Nice!! Thanks I'm planning a future build and this is some great info
Really a sweet Tundra. You really know your stuff. I love my 18 Tundra 4x4 Cement Gray... you really put mine to shame .. keep up your work.
I remember those as a kid back in 6th grade. Very different than today's Tundra trucks where most people get the crew cab model.
What would you recommend for an 07 Toyota Sequoia limited 2WD? I’m going to be using it for towing a power washing trailer. Really need the best suspension possible.
Hey Mike, can u put 18” rims on the first gen tundra. I have a 2003 tundra
U probably could what matter most is the offset method nvs usually have an offset of 0
where did you get your headlights?
The headlights are stock. The clear front corner lights (front turn signal lights) I purchased on ebay years ago. They were for the 2000-2004 tundra, so I slightly modified them to work on my 06 👌
thank you! how many inches of lift do you have that let you clear 35s? i’m trying to do the same but don’t want to get something too small
Awesome looking truck. I have always had a tough time finding light bars/off-road bumpers (front&rear) and still to this day cant find any for my 1st Gen Tundra.
"Wow I spend 700 bucks on that" lol.. 1UZ very underrated.. badass truck!!
I miss my 1st Gen access cab, it handled so well. I will be watching your LT build.
Did you have to do any cutting for the headers? Are they long or shorts
Can you still buy those clear corner lights anywhere? Ive tried looking and all i see is the double cab version !
Very nice. I just picked up an 03 sr5 (dark blue) let the mods begin. Gonna be doing a midtravel setup like yours in the vid because its my daily. And its cheaper than LT.. Lol
Dan Shim- Very nice! If you ever need any help or advice for your build then let me know 🤙🤘
Hey mike what is front metal bumper you have there where did you get that with LED light?
Can you list the stuff you have done to this truck
is this 4x4?
Let’s see the tundra in action with that mid travel kit on there
Dyllan Lopez- That kit is already off of my truck now, but I'll be posting some videos of my Tundra with the new Camburg long travel kit 👌
I am waiting for the long travel kit video.
Hey mike what did you do with the old camburg setup after you put in the new camburg long travel? I have a 2002 tundra v8 with almost 290000 on it. and I want it to look and run just like your 2006. How much will that approximately cost?

What did you do to the underneath? It's so clean. Did you spray paint it or fluid film?
Can you add links to your complete exhaust set up? And links to your intake, jba headers and throttle body spacer?
Mike, beautiful Tundra. I have an 03 Tundra that I'm thinking about making some modifications to. You've given me some great ideas. I was wondering how's the ride with those BFG A/T tires? I'm getting ready to install a set. Thanks.
Nice matte gray or space grey plastidip job on the truck would be dope!
What front brake setup do you run because mine freakin suck

RedrumPS Scrunch you should post vids of yours man! Mine is a 2000 220000 miles and I’m about to start doing stuff to mine
What size lift is on the white tundra in the corner?
Love it as is. 100% all in with it. So, the rear is stock height?
That’s what I’m trying to do with my 04
Love it. Damn. Your interior looks mint
I have the sr5 and I love the hell out of the light bar I have been looking for one awesome idea
have you installed a locker in it? I’m wanting to buy the powertrax no slip for mine. I’ve got the same exact truck but mines champagne color.
Sick truck. I have an 01 silver Tundra with JBA shorty's, Flowmaster and a K & N cold air intake along with some other mods. I would like to get a similar set up of with tires and Camburg. Any advice would be great.
Would you drive this truck mid travel with 35's if you weren't upgrading to LT? I'm contemplating 33's vs 35's right now and can't upgrade to LT.
What Stereo did you put in it? I just got this same truck and I am wanting to replace the Stereo!
Hey mike, will that hps intake fit on a 2002 tundra?
Ive been looking for those clean clear corner lights that you have. Any idea where you bought them?
I’ve been looking for them as well. Seems like Ebay is the only option.
Where can you buy that trim that's is around the wheels wells
Hurry and upload a new progress video of this truck!
Truck looks dope already!🔥
Love your truck! I have 2 make a video of mine for sure now its a 2003 Tundra limited v8 4x4
Are you running stock rear leaf springs?
Yes they are stock.

Damn LS Swap ! I bet it hauls ass.
I want to make my tundra level. So 3 in front and 1 in back. What upper arms do you prefer. I’m driving a 06 tundra limited 2wd
Where did you get the clear corners? I can’t find them anywhere
I have to same truck & year I'm hooked please somebody send me a link of everything please

I didn't notice until you said that. He sounds a lot like Tom!
Would love to see that new kit.

Hey, where did you get your clear corners? Those things are apparently nonexistent for 1st gen regular/access cabs.
I’m trying to find some for my 03
If i get a tundra im gonna build it like that
digging that front bumper is that stock? can that fit a 93 T100
Do you have any ideas for lockers or limited slips to get all 4 tires spinning instead of just 2?
im getting tundra fever😐
