I just bought it and can't wait to get it in the mail. These kinds of modeling amps are perfect because they have a headphone output that I can connect to my big JBL PartyBox 310. And an amp that is already excellent becomes absolutely incredible when connected to the right speaker system. When I feel like it and want to play with something light, I can unplug it and use the amp alone. And the Blackstar Architect software is really excellent-intuitive, well-designed where it needs to be, simple, and so on. I still keep a tube amp with a 2x12 cab for when I want to change things up and need a big, full sound, but I stick with modeling amps because there's no need for big amps nowadays. I even have the little Positive Grid Spark Go.

These have always been great and so easy to dial in great tones. I wrote Blackstar a while back and said they should put the ID Core amp tech into a pedal.
I want to like Black Star but- I bought their Club 40 tube amp that has digital output on the rear w/cab sim installed- and it sounded great, until it tore up. I put it in stand by- which is how you activate the digital output on the rear so it shouldn't hurt anything- and when I came back from getting something to drink- it wouldn't make a peep. No matter which output you use, no matter if you bypass the preamp- no sound. So, I called BS- they wanted nothing to do with it and told me that if I bought it used- it's not their problem, it's mine. Even had the nerve to suggest I buy a better BS amp- yeah, right. Like I'm going to throw another grand behind the 500$ amp I just bought that tore up. It didn't even make 1 year man- I had it about 6 months.
Superb. I was in on Friday last and chopped in my Katana Mk 2 Head and Blackstar HT-112 cab for the the 40 watt version. My gigging days are over and this will do me nicely thank you!! Great video as always guys!

The thing I took away from his presentation is that they are really involved in what their customers are concerned and interested in, engaged I guess would be a better description. I have a Blackstar ID Core V3 20W and it is a fantastic practice amp. Many tone shaping features at least for beginners. I like the power adjustment on the V4 - which is a great feature to have. They could have included an FX loop in the 40W though or atleast start including the footswitches with these models.

These are the absolute best for when it’s very late, everyone is sleeping, and you just want to play very quietly. Because you had an idea, and you can’t sleep anyway.
Tone control. You will most likely find you can control the tone controls by holding the tap button while you adjust the gain, volume and ISF. At least that is how Blackstar have handled adjusting parameters with missing physical knobs on their TVP amps in the past so I assume these might be the same. For example on the ID30 if you hold the tap button while turning the ISF control it adjusts the mids on that amp despite it having three less physical knobs than the larger amps you could still make all the same adjustments from the amp.
I was between this and the debut range. Went for the debut in the end and it is just so much easier to use. Just lets me play and worry about effects later.

I'd always had that turned off but the new owner liked it and asked me to leave it on. We then moved the amp to just outside the door of the next room and it sounded even better.
Just got a blackstar Debut 50r and that thing is killer, amd takes pedals so well! These look like a real disappointment...hardly any change. Amps nlike this should autmatically be bluetooth connectivity to phone apps. It doesnt even sound good/or any different from the previous itterations. The choices these amp manufacturers make baffle me. I want to adjust my unit wirelessly on my iPad (thr has that already for years) and - which I cannot stress enough - give me the effects loop! I do not buy without the ability to loop post signal chain… I mean cmon it’s a practice amp! Seems they never learn, but hey, more “phaser” you’ll never use… argh. OD1 and 2 sound terrible. Super Crunch is ok. Overall I fell like overdrive sounds much better in my Fly3. Just judging by the sound of this video I fell like ID:COREv4 is far behind Katana and Catalyst.
That's how PRS usually sound to me. I've had a play through a few over the years and never liked the tone from em. I feel like a lot of products these days very successfully cajole people into believing they're really good because they have a lot of fancy looking bells and whistles and can be very expensive, but the basic function or point of the product is lacking. My first guitar was an unbranded strat copy I got for £80 that was absolutely awful looking back with a flat fretboard and dead pups. I was clueless back then and just was wanting an electric to start learning. I swapped out the pups and used it for years though as I was learning, and a friend of mine who had a PRS worth nearly 2 grand would jam with me and even though his PRS felt WAAAY nicer to play, the actual tone I got from my cheapo hunkajunk with some decent single soils put in it was often gorgeous while his tone always sounded flat and plasticky, particularly clean and not drowned in effects and distortion. Nevertheless, I eventually started earning enough to buy a proper strat which I tweaked a bit over the years - that plays, feels and sounds gorgeous.
Bass knob = Resonance.
Treble knob = Presence.
If you hold the Tap Tempo button, it accesses the secondary use of the knob.
I assumed the same except the amp they showed on the screen did not have a Bass, Treble or Mid knob.

Realize sound you hear in the video is not the real sound of the amp in your room, but the line out that is recorded and then you listen it on your speakers .. I hope you understand that. You cant test sound on youtube but you got to hear it for real, and then you can say if you like it .. Succes with your acoustic playing ! I share this to help and not to joke :-)
@@TheCSteve yeah upon further research i got to know about the Boss Katana 50. I think a better amp than a guitar will lay the foundation as I'll get bored of the tones from Blackstar
@@TheBestGuitaristForReal take the Katana 100. More options for little bit more.. Black Star id core is good for punkrock 🎸 layer the guitar like Green Day does . Its fun 😁
@@TheCSteve I'm poor mate
Why does the room look darker?
❤
I feel no need for any other practise amp now that i have the Laney loudpedal.
Still no Bluetooth???
Six voices in his head, so hexaphrenic.
od2 ftw
The choices these amp manufacturers make baffle me. I want to adjust my unit wirelessly on my iPad (thr has that already for years) and - which I cannot stress enough - give me the effects loop! I do not buy without the ability to loop post signal chain… I mean cmon it’s a practice amp! Seems they never learn, but hey, more “phaser” you’ll never use… argh. I want to use my ditto and practice…
ISF is THE reason I will not buy one... Wish they droped it and had a standard low mid high...
Not sure about the new background.
OD1 and 2 sound terrible. Super Crunch is ok. Overall I fell like overdrive sounds much better in my Fly3. Just judging by the sound of this video I fell like ID:COREv4 is far behind Katana and Catalyst.
The PRS doesnt sound that good, kinda plasticky
