New set looks awesome ! And as always, great demo, great playing and lovely people :D
Diggin the new studio set up. As always, keep these informative vids coming because you all keep me inspired to keep picking up a guitar and playing around. In addition, you always keep me wanting to try out new gear that you test.
These amps are great, I got Core 100 some years back and it sounds just right, very comfortable for rehearsing and playing at home. most of my RUclips videos I’ve been recording with this amp. Cheers 🤘
Superb. I was in on Friday last and chopped in my Katana Mk 2 Head and Blackstar HT-112 cab for the the 40 watt version. My gigging days are over and this will do me nicely thank you!!
Great video as always guys!
How does it fare against the Katana head? I'm in a simolar situation, thinking of picking one up just for practicing and minimal tweaking
New Set looks smart gents and great video!
I bought the Stereo 40 V4 on Monday. Loving it!
Blackstar makes some cool little amps. My favorite is the Fly 3
pretty much the only blackstar worth buying
These have always been great and so easy to dial in great tones. I wrote Blackstar a while back and said they should put the ID Core amp tech into a pedal.
I want to like Black Star but- I bought their Club 40 tube amp that has digital output on the rear w/cab sim installed- and it sounded great, until it tore up. I put it in stand by- which is how you activate the digital output on the rear so it shouldn't hurt anything- and when I came back from getting something to drink- it wouldn't make a peep. No matter which output you use, no matter if you bypass the preamp- no sound. So, I called BS- they wanted nothing to do with it and told me that if I bought it used- it's not their problem, it's mine. Even had the nerve to suggest I buy a better BS amp- yeah, right. Like I'm going to throw another grand behind the 500$ amp I just bought that tore up. It didn't even make 1 year man- I had it about 6 months.
i've had my id core 100 for 5 years and had no problems. @@stoneysdead689
Bye Fly 3, I'm getting the 10W right now. Cheers for another fantastic review!
I am loving the new set design, but even more so with that red trunk, it really pops
I still have a TVP series. I think I would keep this amp over any other in my arsenal. Great, diverse, ease of use, seems a complete package. Black Star is an excellent amp in any flavor. Met Ed Hohay, and he signed it at a local music store seminar. The thing I took away from his presentation is that they are really involved in what their customers are concerned and interested in, engaged I guess would be a better description. I’m sold on everything Black Star.
Bass knob = Resonance.
Treble knob = Presence.
If you hold the Tap Tempo button, it accesses the secondary use of the knob.
I assumed the same except the amp they showed on the screen did not have a Bass, Treble or Mid knob.
Well done Blackstar
Pete, I love the new dark wood back drop,,,great job sir!
Pete had some damn good playing in that intro!
I just bought it and can't wait to get it in the mail.
These kinds of modeling amps are perfect because they have a headphone output that I can connect to my big JBL PartyBox 310.
And an amp that is already excellent becomes absolutely incredible when connected to the right speaker system.
When I feel like it and want to play with something light, I can unplug it and use the amp alone.
And the Blackstar Architect software is really excellent-intuitive, well-designed where it needs to be, simple, and so on.
I still keep a tube amp with a 2x12 cab for when I want to change things up and need a big, full sound, but I stick with modeling amps because there's no need for big amps nowadays.
I even have the little Positive Grid Spark Go.
Plate...your favorite... specialy when it's empty 😅. So suitle.Loved it.
I have a Blackstar ID Core V3 20W and it is a fantastic practice amp. Many tone shaping features at least for beginners. I like the power adjustment on the V4 - which is a great feature to have. They could have included an FX loop in the 40W though or atleast start including the footswitches with these models.
Very cool editor interface.
Oh that set will certainly make Josh Scott happy!
Damn, I just got rid of my V3. These things sound amazing, ngl. Might buy another one again just for small rooms and practice.
Honestly what a jam that was
Man that silver sky se sounds great
Pete was shredding so hard!
Just watched the Video,,I had previously owned the original 20 watt version then I moved on to the 40 watt V2 and after watching your video I plugged my little amp into my MacBook pro after downloading the Architect software and it has just opened up the sounds I want from this little belter. If you can go for the 40 watt version and download that software to adjust the amp to your sounds in your head. The presets loaded in from new are ok but not a "PATCH" on what you can extract out of these little beauty's
@Andertons what are those guitar seats#stools you are both using ..? Link …
Hi and thanks for the great video. Could you tell me please, if this amp would be good with accostic guitar?
was just wondering when you guys were gonna put out another video!
I was between this and the debut range. Went for the debut in the end and it is just so much easier to use. Just lets me play and worry about effects later.
I still love my v1 ID core, but to be honest if they would just make it Bluetooth and with an app I would upgrade in a heartbeat. I was excited to see V4 being released then let down with lack of that feature. They could be a Katana/ Spark killer if they added an app. I think their tone is better than both of them, but I don’t want to be tied to a laptop to dial in more tones. (First world problems I know), but it’s 2024 keep up or get left behind. Excellent work as always gentlemen!
Couldn't agree more! How does this not have Bluetooth and an app?
ID core > katana as well imo. If they had a BT app they could compete with the spark.
Yeah. No bluetooth to phone kills it for me. I haven't powered up a laptop in yrs.
EXACTLY PASS.
i have a katana mkii100 for home studio but when i want to go outside on the patio or garage itd be nice to have a small amp like the idcore but i dont want to ahve to have a freaking laptop to customize it.
@@taxationistheft2.0Perhaps sort your tones out before you go outside? There’s no reason you’d have to be constantly changing settings on the fly - what’s wrong with you?
Lovely JAM boyz:) I wish I could play a PRS, that one chimes:)
Got my Laney GH100L Made in England amp since the 90s and nothing so far despite all the latest tech convinced me to ditch it for something else. Still faithful and in love 😅
the amps are cool...but Pete's playing during the intro....just lovely.
Hi guys - I have been considering the Katana 50 as it seems to be OK also for acoustic guitar. Does this amp have a setting for acoustic guitar?
I heard several good tones. Would love to hear more clean tones.
Tone control. You will most likely find you can control the tone controls by holding the tap button while you adjust the gain, volume and ISF. At least that is how Blackstar have handled adjusting parameters with missing physical knobs on their TVP amps in the past so I assume these might be the same. For example on the ID30 if you hold the tap button while turning the ISF control it adjusts the mids on that amp despite it having three less physical knobs than the larger amps you could still make all the same adjustments from the amp.
Does Fender Mustang LT25 has this feature like blackstar ,where I can plug the amp to my phone and use the camera app to record guitar audio and video at the same time?
Cool pedal backdrop guys!
I wonder how much $ is on that pedal display... let alone the amps and guitars!
@@JokeDindonChannel
Just a couple hundred, because it doesn’t include markup.
core40,20 and 10 , only difference is the size and speaker..? all the function exactly same right.?
Does Andertons sell the PB1 Battery pack?
Id4 10w or positive grid spark mini?
YEEEES!
I like positivegrid because of the tonecloud. This has nothing comparable, correct?
I purchased it yesterday
Good stuff and the studio looks great. I am however quite worried that we are approaching the 1st of february and I haven't seen a single Klon shootout in 2024 yet. You alright guys?
My only previous experience with an ID Core (IDCore 100) was it sounded great with my head immediately in front of the speaker but as soon as I moved away it just sounded weird and not like a guitar amp. That was as an owner of multiple Blackstar amps including a few TVP amps so it was disappointing. I'd be keen to hear one of these in person to see if that's improved as I no longer own any Blackstar products but I am in the need for a small portable practice solution.
I've found that almost all amps sound good with your head sitting right in front of it. The moment you're off to the side or above, you're no longer hearing the pure tone.
@@ryanmrcs215 I guess the thing is it always sounds different off axis but the ID Core 100 I tried years ago sounded bad off axis, it was a weird out of phase sound. Pretty much every situation I've ever played has been off axis and the amps I like sound great even off axis. Actually the funny thing was with the ID260 I never really cared much for the Superwide stereo feature until the day I sold it and realised I'd always been too close to it for the feature to shine. I'd always had that turned off but the new owner liked it and asked me to leave it on. We then moved the amp to just outside the door of the next room and it sounded even better.
I have a mark 1 Blackstar HT Stage 100. Best sound I ever had, no need to upgrade.
New set!!! looks almost as good as Pete’s playing😉😜
Liked and subscribed..👍🇦🇺
I just bought the Gibson Falcon 20 for 1800 bucks. I also have the Boss Katana 50 MK2 EX.
What is the footswitch for?
Thinking about a id core 10 plus this pb-1. With a little step down module it can power the amp, the looper and a pedal board. That sounds outdoors. Mad: the pb costs half of the amp 😂
These are the absolute best for when it’s very late, everyone is sleeping, and you just want to play very quietly. Because you had an idea, and you can’t sleep anyway.
I don’t know what it says about me that I understand all of Pete’s naughty jokes and double entendres 🤣#inside(h)er #gags
Still my favorite of all the practice amps.
Agree. ID: Core 40 represents the pragmatic balance of affordability and versatility. Pretty much the perfect practice amp for those owning just one amp. Has been singe the original.
We need an Andertons Uncensored channel!
10 watt or 20 watt? Which is best for beginner?
I feel no need for any other practise amp now that i have the Laney loudpedal.
That Chapman tele! 🤤😍
Is the PB1 a freebie???
Im using the older ID30 TVP I like this Blackstar because I can plug into my secret weapon my PA system The ID core V4 can also be plugged into a PA.This model appeals to me because of the Stereo. Im just not sure if the emulation out is in Stereo????????
Would have liked to hear some non single coil tones.
You wouldn’t, I took a punt on buying the v10 AWFUL beyond belief 👎🏽
I love Fore... Great album 🙂
Why does the room look darker?
Waiting on the addition of BT which is supposedly on the way for newer models. And I do still wish Core amps had standard EQ controls instead of just ISF (rather than bury them in software)
Hey Pete and Cap. - whats that black victory behind Pete.
I love the new set, it's darker and easier on the eyes! Looks great
Loving the new look. Pete lighting his farts has made a great job of the back wall and he didn't even burn the store to the ground!
New set is cool, where the giv-a-way Klon???
The song you're trying to remember was power of love from Huey Lewis and the News
It's a curious thing.
Pete you are mixing up Back to the Future and American Psycho :)
Shame they couldn't add the looper that's in the 100
Hi Pete I noticed every time you try to explain something Anderson won’t let you almost in every video
😂 must be frustrating😊
❤
Owww, lovely and affordable amps, again..😀 ,
Still,… i wil not buy amps or pedals anymore that require special software to use them to the full..
why? Well, i have several equipment now for which the software is no longer supported like Fender amp’s, Digitech Multi effect boxes etc., after a few years the manufacturer stops support and removes the websites with presets and rythm patterns and the software ib the device stops working because it cannot reach the right website anymore ..
so these amps are not for me …
Yep.
That dragon fruit colour is really growing on me
I wait for the day that Blackstar get rid of the ISF and install more usable eq or tone stack. Meanwhile, unapelling to say the least
But muh bri'ish or 'muricain sounds!!!
your spelling is unapelling.
7:45 - Pete, I'm pretty sure it was The Power Of Love, not Hip to be Square.
Yep and Back in Time too
Still no Bluetooth???
The USB C is cool, but still on the front panel which obstructs the controls whilst recording on computer. The USB connector should have been on the back panel.
Buy a right angle cable. I know it’s kinda annoying but that’s the best workaround
I like the old brighter set better. New set looks smaller.
Blackstar MO- Regurgitating the same amp series , over and over, year after year.
Except for the only really good amps they made, you can only get those second hand: Artisan, Artist & S1.
Im planning to buy one i currently play a mediocre acoustic.
Then dont buy that .. Acoustic its not great. Better buy a boss acustic singer or if you want to go allround for more guitars then the katana is better.. It has an acoustic channel and i have made patches .. You know what i share them on the original boss website .. Blackstar Id-Core is good practice amp and songwriting dont expect high end from it.
Realize sound you hear in the video is not the real sound of the amp in your room, but the line out that is recorded and then you listen it on your speakers .. I hope you understand that. You cant test sound on youtube but you got to hear it for real, and then you can say if you like it .. Succes with your acoustic playing ! I share this to help and not to joke :-)
@@TheCSteve yeah upon further research i got to know about the Boss Katana 50. I think a better amp than a guitar will lay the foundation as I'll get bored of the tones from Blackstar
@@TheBestGuitaristForReal take the Katana 100. More options for little bit more.. Black Star id core is good for punkrock 🎸 layer the guitar like Green Day does . Its fun 😁
@@TheCSteve I'm poor mate
Paint it black?
Just got a blackstar Debut 50r and that thing is killer, amd takes pedals so well! These look like a real disappointment...hardly any change. Amps nlike this should autmatically be bluetooth connectivity to phone apps. It doesnt even sound good/or any different from the previous itterations. They would be better making it £50 more and putting some real change to these amps. However the Debut 50r is probably my favourite bit of gear ive bought in the last year.
Sometimes I bury myself in the garden and pretend I'm a carrot
sometimes i dress up as a carrot and pretend i'm a garden.
Not sure about the new background.
Six voices in his head, so hexaphrenic.
Blackstar gets alot of crap from amp snobs but these are great practice amps. I still have my V2 20 watt and I see no reason to part with it. It's portable, sounds good, loud enough but also quiet enough for late night apartment sessions. No complaints.
That was nice but I think I need to be louder....
Back backboard makes the room look smaller
Not a fan of the reverb and delay...sounds too processed
8:38 Pete... you're not exactly "young" either 😅
The choices these amp manufacturers make baffle me. I want to adjust my unit wirelessly on my iPad (thr has that already for years) and - which I cannot stress enough - give me the effects loop! I do not buy without the ability to loop post signal chain… I mean cmon it’s a practice amp! Seems they never learn, but hey, more “phaser” you’ll never use… argh. I want to use my ditto and practice…
Wasn't really interested in the amps. I was just eyeing off that Chapman Lee had at the start
Wait what? Blackstar is doing a collab with Volkswagen on a new EV?
Blackstar creator's final words: I got you all ISF does nothing!
ISF is THE reason I will not buy one... Wish they droped it and had a standard low mid high...
BLACKSTAR ID CORE 40WATT VS POSTIVE GRID AMP COMBO 40 WATT???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
OD1 and 2 sound terrible. Super Crunch is ok. Overall I fell like overdrive sounds much better in my Fly3. Just judging by the sound of this video I fell like ID:COREv4 is far behind Katana and Catalyst.
