As a student from Korea, trainers don’t impair your learning. In Korea you can wear whatever trainers you want, and look at our grades. They don’t impair if anything the instances of picking up students wearing trainers takes more time from their learning. Same with socks, jumpers, hair, makeup and ear rings. They don’t define your level of professionalism.
I get there are more important issues to worry about rather than some shoes, but like...is it really that hard to just wear black school shoes?? It’s a simple rule. It’s not like they are uncomfortable or anything. It’s really not hard to just stick to that rule. Like what REALLY is the issue? It’s only wearing them for a few hours 😂 The reason why teachers care about that rule is because it’s an obvious attempt to undermine the teachers and go against a simple rule. In a sense, School kinda sets you up for the real world teaching you that there ARE rules/ laws to follow, and sometimes in life you DO have to do things that you might not always want to do. That’s life.
@@mollys7319 Its a simple rule, but also a stupid one. Why would the teachers give themselves such an opportunity to be undermined as harshly enforcing pointless rules? In real life there are rules/laws to follow, but (for the most part) they are our best attempts at fair and sensible rules to keep society going, and often people get angry when that does not appear to be the case. Lay down sensible rules, and then you will know who to worry about when they are broken.

It enforces discipline and routines. My school required you to have a freshly ironed shirt every day, the correct tie length, shoes and look presentable. If you didn't follow the dress code you simply got fined and had perks removed. I hated it, but it did show me how to be punctual and present myself. Did it help on the educational side? Yea, getting up at 5:30 in order to prepare for the day had me fully awake by 8:30. Might be different for you but when i dress good i normally feel good, as for trainers ive never had a issue buying comfortable shoes...
@@hslmedia2663 I get that but some schools, like mine, make the dumb excuse that it promotes bad behaviour and 'gang culture' to wear trainers anywhere outside of pe.
I'm sorry if I sound like a twat. But in my year at least, The only people who care about "expressing their personality" through clothes are the ones who buy the overpriced designer brands to make up for their lack of personality to begin with. And when we have a non uniform day, it was the same students who had a go at people for what they wore as well. It sounds shallow but as I was saying, they lack personality so I guess it isn't off the table to them.
@@cometvaudin2850 Don't worry I know that but surely to negate that and actually do as they preach. Just give money to the poorest students to purchase clothes they like. or to make sure their parents don't use it. If that is not an option for the school they should be providing the school clothes.
Being denied education because of a fault in the uniform , what if it was genuinely a case of that the child’s parents couldn’t afford new shoes and they had to wear trainers
My school shoes broke one time (the strap came off in my hand on one of my shoes whilst I was getting ready for school that morning) so my mum wrote my Head of Year a note which explained why I was wearing trainers that day, and we would "rectify the situation" at the weekend (in 3 days), and said if the school wanted to talk to my mum about it she was "happy to explain over the phone". I went down to the office before morning registration, and she signed it for me to acknowledge that she had seen it, so whenever a teacher stopped me about my trainers I could give them the note signed by my HOY. Schools recognise stuff can happen and it's not the kid's fault or the parent's fault, they make exceptions in the right circumstances but when someone willingly and knowingly breaks the rules, that's when the punishments come out.
@@rayaeparker8973 I was in the exact same situation as you , in my school after 3 years you graduate to the senior side of the secondary school but I wasn’t allowed participate cause my shoes had broke
the whole point of stundents not wearing trsiners is so that as far as uniform goes, everyone is equal and the same which avoids tensions and negativity between students because so and so gets wo wear this and we don't etc etc. It also eliminates bullying on the grounds of the clothes a student may wear which if students were allowed to wear normal clothes every day and they got bullied for the way they dressed....THAT WOULD affect that students education and learning....so yes......yes trainers at school would affect learning.
@Mrdarlikjz 02] It's almost impossible to find school shoes in my size though. The nice ones are mainly in sizes for primary schoolers, not secondary, and the ones which are are usually uncomfortable or not accepted by the school since my school doesn't allow logos... overall i think trainers being allowed, even if they did put some colour or style restrictions, would be great
@@gavc21 School uniform definitely restricts bullying based off of clothing, but controlling things like shoes and hairstyles etc is going too far for something that still allows for so much bullying.

Happens at My Irish school too 😂. We’re all supposed to wear all black trainers. No colours on it. Just black .I came to school with some black trainers with a white nike tick ✔️ & they went bonkers
We are pretty relaxed actually. We are allowed any kind of trainers, black jeans, leggings or skirts (suitable length of course). For tops you can wear black shirt and tie, white shirt and tie, black polo shirt, white polo shirt, black long sleeve T, white long sleeve T. Then on top of that you can wear a cardigan, blazer, sweater or hoodie. All tops must have logo on them. The only really strict rule that is really inforced is no huge branding on any clothes. A girl came in with leggings that had Adidas printed huge on her leg, and she got sent to the head. Your are allowed a small Nike tick, but that is about it. I honestly love our uniform. There are enough options that every one has there own style, but you don't have pressure to keep up with trends, and buy lorry loads of new clothes to keep up with fashion. -scottish public school.

The school sent out letters concerned about the colour of our socks. The next day we all came in wearing brightly coloured socks, bullying didn’t get dealt with tho.
How ridiculous that the teachers could've spent that detention time explaining strikes, how they can be effective, and to educate these kids. Instead, they're punished for standing together for a common cause

I am lucky enough to have gone to one of they very few schools in the UK where you don't need to wear uniform. It's a school in a trendy and liberal part of Glasgow and we have a very left field approach to lots of things. I honestly never knew it was this strict in other schools. I have worn trainers, jeans and a hoodie for every single day of my secondary school career. I'm now at uni and honestly the last few years of school felt very similar to this. Not only did we dress the same but the dynamic between pupils and staff was the same, we could call some teachers by their first names, teachers openly swore in lessons and were generally relaxed and talked on a basis of equality towards the students. It is bizarre to me to think that these poor folks are getting punished for something as trivial as this while I'm casually sitting there in my jeans talking to John my design teacher about some in depth thing that is forwarding my learning and preparing me for my future.
This is exactly what my college is like right now, we all wear trainers jeans and a hoodie etc and the teachers are more like friends if that makes sense? Like we have a laugh and get on really well and call them by their first names etc. It was so strange when I first started bc I came from a secondary school that was pretty strict and we all had to wear uniforms
I had to wear a uniform and I didn't really care, people make it a bigger problem than it really is and there are positives of a uniform. I learned how to tie a tie so later in life I won't be embarrassed cause a 20+ year old man doesn't know how to tie a tie. It does make you look smarter (if put on correctly) I think there are positives of a school uniform. Uniform is a necessary part of work. (I know some jobs don't require one but others do) So it's good to teach kids that when they're at work they don't have a choice in what they wear.
@@idonthateyou694 I agree there are positives and negatives. It can look really smart but for some poeple like me it was really hard to afford to buy it. My school jumpers were £25+ each depemding on size and trousers and skirts were £22+. It was also hard to find correct sizes as I'm 5.11 but only 30" waist. And at my school we had to wear all logo stuff and it was v expensive. We also had clip on ties so I still don't know how to tie one.
@@C.Woodford Uniforms are pricey but atleast you wear them 5 days a week for a school year, so you get a lot of use out of it atleast. But school uniforms are handy to lessen the embarrassed for kids. Cause some teens go through phases and they wear different clothing as a result or teens experiment with their style which can lead to embarrassment and bullying. But I do agree that uniforms are a bit too expensive Pros and cons
It's not even that deep though. It's teenagers doing teenage things in high-school, that'snwhat happens. They should deal with bullying the same way they deal with trainers and maybe they'd get stuff done for once
Just confiscate the phones.... that's what my school does. You're phone is not allowed to be seen or heard anywhere during school, even at break and lunch.
One time the popular kids tried to organise an all school ditch class, picked the wrong day and nearly everyone did it, it rained and the teachers locked the students outside, every single student went home with a broken phone and wet clothes, the parents actually applauded the school

How would the Mario brothers enforce a school dress code? Mario Says: Our uniform can be a blazer, jumper, fleece, hoodie or anything as long as you wear a pin representing the school! Luigi says: *If you try to wear Nike, I'll detonate your bike!*
You also have to think about it from their point of view. It’s not all about you and what you want to wear. The school has to hold up a good reputation. They want to be seen as a smart well dressed school. It’s like being in the workplace; you wouldn’t turn up in trainers for an important job. You wouldn’t wear a short party dress to be a lawyer or something. It’s just not appropriate, and the same thing goes for school. They have an image to uphold. You should respect that. Really not hard.
Schools can call out students' who don't follow dress code but can't even say anything about abused, bullying and all these things that really needs to be addressed.
TensiveWolf “freedom taking away” 😂😂 get a grip! It’s just a uniform. Jeez this generation have become so entitled over everything. You guys are really going to struggle in the real world when you get a job. You can’t just do what you want. They won’t put up with your bullshit. Harsh truth!

"wearing Trainers affects their attention and focus on learning" - *excludes the students from their classes for the day to make them write lines the whole day* you know before Lockdown I was at college in Cali , just going to classes in a pair of shorts a shirt ,a hoodie and trainers never did I once get distracted by my clothes apart from the rare occasion when my laces came undone or the room got too hot for my hoodie. When I was growing up in the UK I was constantly getting distracted by the fact my shoes had to be spotless, clean and shiny . That my tie was straight and tied the correct way my blazer was ironed and that my trousers were clean all because if one of these things weren't right I would get in trouble. nothing is more distracting than having to constantly worry about uncomfortable clothes being primp and clean for a whole day, not to mention it's very expensive One set of uniform can cost around $100 and you often need 3 or more sets minus the blazer. Uniform is the biggest distraction in school and I wish schools would get out of their 1950's mindset already...
I love this, because our school is one of the very few in the uk without school uniform. And literally everyone likes it - we like to wear what we want and is comfortable, the teachers like to wear what they want, and dont need to hassle kids about pointless stuff. The only objections have come from a minority of parents, but when they asked to re-open the uniform debate, the head teacher just said "no!" 😂 Really, its time to move on from school being treated like some army barrack.
Literally every angsty 15 year old girl that attends British high school. They're always blonde, thick eyebrows, hair up in a bun, instigating trouble, has a phone and looks exactly the same as her clique.
I remember before year 8 my school changed the uniform rules. On the first day they put everyone in isolation who had the wrong shoes on.
@@mollys7319
Its a simple rule, but also a stupid one.
The problem is if they let it slide, the students will think they can get away with more and more

I may say this to the teacher that says this to me next. 😁
Being denied education because of a fault in the uniform , what if it was genuinely a case of that the child’s parents couldn’t afford new shoes and they had to wear trainers
Then they would organise something with the school there are support systems for this stuff. Plus this was because they did it cause of Snapchat.

Trainers aren’t going to affect your learning, it might help since they’re way more comfortable than school shoes
the whole point of stundents not wearing trsiners is so that as far as uniform goes, everyone is equal and the same which avoids tensions and negativity between students because so and so gets wo wear this and we don't etc etc. It also eliminates bullying on the grounds of the clothes a student may wear which if students were allowed to wear normal clothes every day and they got bullied for the way they dressed....THAT WOULD affect that students education and learning....so yes......yes trainers at school would affect learning.
@@gavc21 bullying still happens in uniform schools. I had holes in my cardigans, dresses, etc and couldn't afford new ones. So..
@Mrdarlikjz 02] It's almost impossible to find school shoes in my size though.
It was so strange when I first started bc I came from a secondary school that was pretty strict and we all had to wear uniforms
wish more schools were like this

I had to wear a uniform and I didn't really care, people make it a bigger problem than it really is and there are positives of a uniform.
I learned how to tie a tie so later in life I won't be embarrassed cause a 20+ year old man doesn't know how to tie a tie.
It does make you look smarter (if put on correctly)
I think there are positives of a school uniform.
But I do agree that uniforms are a bit too expensive

This just reminds me of all British secondary schools 😂😂
When he said ANYONE WEARING DUMB TRAINERS LINE UP THERE id walk on
I love this, because our school is one of the very few in the uk without school uniform. And literally everyone likes it - we like to wear what we want and is comfortable, the teachers like to wear what they want, and dont need to hassle kids about pointless stuff. The only objections have come from a minority of parents, but when they asked to re-open the uniform debate, the head teacher just said "no!" 😂 Really, its time to move on from school being treated like some army barrack.
it’s so funny how they’re so bothered about trainers teachers make me laugh 😭
3:13 can't imagine someone who likes those eyebrows....
Literally every angsty 15 year old girl that attends British high school. They're always blonde, thick eyebrows, hair up in a bun, instigating trouble, has a phone and looks exactly the same as her clique.
@@RRTR4Evr I can confirm that, but theres brunettes and other hair colours too lol
I was literally staring at them, trying to fix them in my head, the whole time she was on screen 😂
RockyRoadstheRogue they’re not always blonde wtf? they come in all different hair colours.
《Aquarius Vibes》 yeah.
2:48 did anybody think that was a d-🤣

I remember before year 8 my school changed the uniform rules. On the first day they put everyone in isolation who had the wrong shoes on. Even the new year 7 got put straight into iso without meeting their form teachers. They filled the hall and the gym with people, must’ve been about 300 people in iso all together😂
I love how every one says how they schools dealt with bullying, but when my schools tried they missed the mark so bad it was embarrassing
