China has done a lot better than many countries, we can't compare China with countries with small population. There are only two countries with the population above 600 million
India and China, then comparing these two can make alot of sense than trying to compare China vs Germany

I really like your videos and thank you for everything that you do. I have one question, at the end of your video, you said the current iron and salt strategy is squeezing many Chinese people. What do you mean by this? How does the government own various industries be able to squeeze common folks? Thanks!

There's an interesting story. A Chinese old man once got into a spat with the police out on the street. The old man said 'I'm a taxpayer, you know.' He wanted to say the salaries of government workers come from the taxes we all pay. The response he got from the police was quite interesting. The police retorted, 'Don't bring up those things from the West. Where my money comes from is the Communist Party, and your taxes don't really matter.'
Actually, the police is right. Most of the party and government's funds do come from state-owned sources. Everything from coal mines to businesses, and even the natural resources from the land, sky, and sea - they're all owned by the government in this country.
When talking about boosting consumption in China, it is quite complex. This is due to the fact that people's money has already been channeled into state-owned resources.

"So, maybe 'squeeze' is a bit negative term while 'channeled' is a more accurate description.

Sorry to learn about your unemployment. I am old enough to be your grand pa, but having lived abroad since I was 18 and originally from HK, I feel I could provide some limited advice to you. While there are still many peoples inside China wanting to immigrate abroad, you have to consider that over all China is currently still the shining star in the current world depression. China needs her citizens to continue to contrbute to this current China miracles. To be, HK,Shenzhen region is the place of opportunities with the Macao / HK bridge, fast train infrastructures , the growing population and the rising economies of China.

Would you say contemporary Chinese support the government's monopoly on services such as telecommunication? Just curious.

Be grateful for what you have when others are struggling more than you to survived. Once upon a time people talked about the American dream but see what is happenning in America now and UK as well.
