Doing a rewatch of all these eps and I think this is one of my favourites. Day came in cranky but the scovilles unlocked him and by the halfway mark he was all in and genuinely enjoying himself. Classic Hot Ones!

This episode is a perfect example of a celebrity who thought this was just some PR stunt and gradually got more and more in to the show as it went. I really feel like Charlie left this show as a fan
That's what a good interviewer does. Also the idea of a shared experience like this is great and helps form a bond between interviewer and interviewee.

I feel the reason the show is still strong is because the jokes are hilarious and there is little to no character development. Just when you think one changes for the better, they revert back to their old selves.
Too many comedy shows have character development and they get married and have children and imo it takes away from the reason we love the show in the first place.

I remember when It's Always Sunny first started. Can't believe it's still going strong almost 20 years later. It's been going so long that I graduated from college, went to grad school, started a career, and moved to Philly from the Midwest all during the run of the show.
This is my favourite Hot Ones interview so far. Charlie Day is such a beauty of a person.

Why was Charlie voted as one of the worst guests ever? He is being perfectly fine and humorous. I think people expect him to be the character from Always Sunny. When he's not they get upset. But he is being playful and fine here. I don't know why people say this episode was one of the worst.

Some of his answers were short and he continued to acknowledge the sauces instead of elaborating on answers lol, but idk a lot of guests do that. I think a few guests back then didn't take it seriously cause the show wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. So Charlie and others likely thought it was silly, not expecting a quality interview
You may notice too though, there are a lot of random cuts through out the interview. A sign that they had to do some editing lol, so...
I didn’t feel like he enjoyed the interview, watch Paul Rudd, Shia LeBeouf or Steve-O they legit seemed like they were enjoying a conversation with an old friend. Where Charlie new it was to plug a movie
He just seems like he doesn’t wanna be there. Which is okay it doesn’t make him sick or anything but it makes him a pretty poor guest
I enjoyed it more than others, I normally don’t even watch these. Just nice to see someone who huffs glue, eats cat food, and unable to read or write in a show so convincingly end up being a down to earth and genuine guy.
this show is timeless - you cant tell what year any of these episodes are from - magic
actually this is way more fast paced, it’s not as chilled as the newer ones
