    Thank you so much for sharing this video, quite a few years ago I had the honor to live in Awassa and Bahir Dar. I think that first women's monastery I had also visited. They had knitting machines and I remember helping them set up a ribbing machine that they had received as a donation but didn't know how to work it. I was so happy to be able to set it up for them. We were pressed for time, I told them I would come back one day to show more. I have not been back yet, but would love to visit again. This really warms the heart. Great to see you both also, wonderful works!

    • @afrinaut3094
      @afrinaut3094 2 года назад +1

      I hope you visit the Nubian villages & the ruins of Nubian pyramids. Their homeland stretching from “upper Egypt” to Sudan/SouthSudan. When the ancient Greeks, Romans & Jews talk of “aethiopia” & “warrior queens” they aren’t talking about the modern country of Ethiopia or the Oromo, aka the Axumites. The ancient scholars were referring to the Nubian Kingdoms of Kush, the Kushite peoples. The modern country of Egypt, unfortunately discriminates against Nubian peoples. European, white American & white Latino scholars tried to erase Nubian heritage from mainstream history. So technically Nubia is Egypt’s mother.

  • @9neters
    @9neters 2 года назад +1

    Africa is the origin of all three major western religions and yet the images are europeanized. One of my dearest friends is Ethiopian, and she often laments over coming back home to see that her people have replaced images of clearly African people with images of whites in their most sacred places. Africa will never unlock its true power until we throw away these images. Your enemy cannot be the image of your deity. This is not unique to Ethiopia, it is seen all across Africa, but it is striking to see since Ethiopia is home to the earliest version of what we know as Christianity.

    I appreciate your effort, but I am not impressed with your title - it is not good to be specific. No men are also allowed to enter the women's Monastery. There are monasteries established for only women, for only men, and for both. It depends on how the Monastery is established and administered. In that sense, your choice of title seems to prove that there is gender discrimination, which is totally against the principles of the monasteries and the spiritual world of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Christians. You also need to understand the context of the actions and be careful with your title selections and story descriptions, particularly for sacred and blessed places.

      Mbizi Mshra, You know they got that sh@t from the Jews and Arabs. The Ethiopian society with all its different tribes is just a mixture of the original Black Africans with the Jewish and Arab invaders of Africa. In real Black Africa you never see that stupid nonsense of discrimination based on gender. The concept of Ubuntu was real all throughout Black Africa. It is sad to see Africans kneeling to Jewish and Arab gods.
