I enjoyed this video very much. You showed the process in enough detail without being overly fussy and (disagreeing with a previous commenter) I found the background sounds/music very relaxing and was disappointed when it stopped, so I played it again. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Making of 6x4 hand-dyed house clogs 0117am 17.11.23 thinking back to mine own childhood.... and nowadays larks.... maybe a new resurgence in the wearing of the clog is in the offing....? it's still with us albeit in a watered down plastic and moulded rubber like state....
Thanks for your comment! Yes it's just wood glue that holds the soles together. It's very strong if used correctly, I've never had a glue join fail! As for the rubber outsoles, they are just attached with glue so they can be replaced when needed.
Good video although I had to mute it because the background noise is distracting. Would have enjoyed hearing some of your comments regarding the process, though.
Thanks Jeanne. I'm not a super experienced shoe/clogmaker so I don't really feel comfortable commenting on it. There a heaps of other makers that are so much more experienced! I just wanted to show my process :)
I traced around my feet and arrived at a upper profile that I thought looked nice. For the side profile I went off a pair of clogs I had made previously, changing the toe-spring and incline a little bit. I didn't need a last to make these :)
No, sorry! I just sort of made it up and didn't hold onto the patterns. They were pretty easy to make, just traced around my feet and added some height.
Unfortunately my bandsaw isn't deep enough to fit the whole width of the clog so I have to do it in pieces. I'm hoping to find a bandsaw that will allow me to make the whole sole in a single piece.
your work is amazing and inspiring. thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for watching! :)

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of ambient music so I've enjoyed making little snippets for my videos :)

So just the glue holds the sole together? Beautiful work. Thank you. 👌💕

Perfection ❤❤❤
Thank you!
How amazing Work, if can share the paterns in pdf format, thanks.
Sorry I no longer have the patterns for these!
Awesome! Did you come up with the pattern? Did you copy from an existing clog or did you make it from a shoe last/your own measurements?
Thanks
