Ranger Hamer was truly one of the good guys I believe he set the standard he should be celebrated more than he is AWESOME video and the narration was clear and pleasing
As a retired disc jockey I know voice talent when I hear it. Your dignified demeanor and delivery are impeccable and background music is spot on . As I lay in bed fighting cancer Your stories are the best way to deal with pain I've ever found. Thanks again Chris.
That is very cool stuff...he was a great man...a cops cop...I've known some of his story for 50 years..to see him in the highwayman movie was the best for me...I would have loved to be chasing Bonnie and Clyde...he got them...just so cool...
Until Kevin Costner made his movie I was unaware that it was Frank Hamer (in company with others) that bought Bonnie & Clyde to justice. The Warren Beatty movie made Frank Hamer out to be a bumbling fool and at the time I didn't realise Frank was actually a real person. What an amazing character and certainly one that we all should know more about. Good job and I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the series.
Party lines were still common in the 50s. I remember many of our neighbors had them. My dad insisted he had to have a private line for his business and we got one.
Great stuff.👍The wilds of the Texas/Oklahoma territory during the turn of the Century are intriguing to me! My Grandfather grew up during that time in those Haunts. 🇺🇸
He was some kind of guy...and he kept quiet about it...he should have been in the movies my whole life...he had so many great encounters...he was a cops cop..only some of us knew about him...
Hello @LegendsoftheOldWestPodcast, you forgot to mention Hammer's treatment of J.T. Canales, harassing him and threatening him for bringing attention to the Texas Rangers racist indiscriminate killings of Mexican Americans. I suppose Mexican Americans still lack the respect of America overall, that all of this was a convinient foot note at the end of this series on Hammer. Perhaps next time you should consider putting all this scuzz did in next time.

A for real Texas Ranger who transitioned from horse back to automobiles. He is the epitome of a Texas Ranger.
The road changes, the ride changes, but the rider never does.

Partyline. We had one in Duluth Mn. in the early 1950's.
I just found out about this guy through a movie super interesting individual
A party line is what they had before tv
We had a party line in the early 90's on the Big Island
We did as well in New Orleans!
That thumbnail OMG!
Just got back from Navasota where Frank restored law and order back in 1911.
He was some kind of guy...and he kept quiet about it...he should have been in the movies my whole life...he had so many great encounters...he was a cops cop..only some of us knew about him...
INSPIRING.
A great man.
What happened to the black farm hand that saved Frank's life from McSweeney
All men who want to be real men could learn something from Frank . People should listen a little more to the old people.
The Matanza was not cool.
No offense but Llano is pronounced with a short a. Thanks

I reported you by the way to RUclips for the above cited reasons, just in case you wonder who did that to you.
