I will watch anything that Randy Mantooth is in, I have a crush on him and that is why I love to watch TV. And Emergency! is why I'm going to be first an CNA then an EMT. Love from Marysville, California KMG 365
This show was not slick by any means and at times a little on the clunky side. But what I think endeared it to people was that it felt like real guys at a real fire house and the silly stuff they go through every day.
The Phantom: Now, when Chet set the water can in the cabinet, he never hooked anything up to it or the door. How did it trigger when the door was opened?
Good question. By remote? It was in there at a peculiar angle to hit John as he stood on the side of the cabinet. I sure love that show. There have been emergency alerts on TV about firefighters and sailors contracting cancer from the use of foam used to put out petroleum fires. I have often wondered if that was the cause of Randolph Mantooth's cancer. He did 4 or 5 episodes where they used the foam. It would have been way before they discovered the connection between the foam and the disease. I doubt they would have seriously used a dish soap or something like that for the scene. It WAS the 70's. They boasted the use of realism on the series.... nothing fake.
I watched this in re runs as a kid and loved it. My kid just bought the dvd set for me. I love this show!❤
This was one of my absolute favorite shows back in the early 70's....
Captain Stanley is really the dad of the team and probably has the best sikes and jokes.

Also when Johnny Gage is your #1 in the whole show and Chet decides to try and win you over by unbuttoning his shirt
