I was one of those people who thought a MFT camera’s photos would look like something from a 2003 cell phone. I’ve had everything from Pentax to Fuji to Leica. Recently caved in and tried a Lumix GX85 (an 8 year old camera at this point) since it was on sale new with two lenses. Worst to worst I return it back. Boy, was I a fool for letting other armchair photographers and slick marketing from other brands in making believe MFT is useless. The photos out of the camera are truly amazing. The L monochrome profile that was helped created by Leica makes the heavens open up and the angels start singing. It looks almost exactly like the BW on my Leica but for a literal fraction of the cost. At this point, my Leica has just sat in its bag and hasn’t been used because I’m enjoying the lumix that much. I’d imagine the OM brand and cameras would be just as exciting, especially with that weather sealing. Never again will I let those armchair photographers and marketing firms fool me about the MFT system. If anyone else out there is on the fence about giving micro four thirds a try, I tell you don’t wait. The only regrets you’ll have is that you waited so long to actually give it a go.
Awsome!I had been waiting for this camera so long and i am so excited.Just ordered one.Despite some negative comments this camera is incredible. For those that have negative comments i just have one suggestion please read the manual and learn how to use this camera 90% don’t know how to use it at its full potential.I will just highlight some remarkable features 1.White balance of 14000 kelvin the colors are astonishing…other brands just have 9000 kelvin in full frame 2. 8.5 stops of image stabilization vs 5 stops-6 on other brands you can actually take photos at night with the camera without a tripod. 3. Gradual Nd filter means that the sensor has variable iso image processing,no other camera can do that. 4. High resolution mode with 50 megapixels are improved 5. The color science is better than canon/nikon 6.In camera focus staking no software needed …in macro it does wonders no other brand can do that 7. AI software integration .And there are much more other things that this camera can do but I will let the people that have negative attitude discover them and learn how to use this beast of a camera at it’s full potential.I own three different systems and trust me when i say it this camera is a beast and does wonders….you just have to read the manual and go do photography and experiment.Great job OM System!Awsome camera!
I sold my Nikon Z7II for the OM 1 Mark ii and the Zuiko 40-150mm 2.8 pro lens. Its amazing. Cant understand some negative comments. They dont know what they are talking about. Great review from a beautiful woman. Greetings from The Netherlands.
GND effect using computational photography was first created by Pentax. Nice to see OM system is the first mirrorless company to also do this. Not a very complicated thing to implement and nice to see this addition here.
It would be awesome if 2 computational features could be stacked. High res mode and focus stacking together would be really awesome for still macro work.
Nicely done video and definitely the most creative in showing what this camera is capable of where other reviewers were so myopic on bird photography. From the look of it, there doesn't seem to be any limitation to MFT, IS & AF (continuous?) works very well. Been looking at getting this camera for a while though as a noob, cautious, as lack of experience precludes me at present from any gotchas … hence specs are one thing, your examples are more valuable. Thanks for making the video!
I’ve been considering upgrading from my OMD EM5 M2 to the OM1 M1 once the OM1 M2 dropped (assuming a price cut) but I may have to rethink that and go straight to the M2.
I have a pen-f but I would like to replace it with a definitive M43 mirrorless used for travel and family in addition to a professional all-round camera also valid for low light ceremonies...I'm undecided between om-1II or gh7...+ Em- 10 mIV instead of pen-f. What do you recommend?
The om1x 2 is to expensive will upgrade my om1x to the om1 as prices will far waiting to see if panamoz stock the 150 to 600 if not will wait to see if mpb starts to get any second hand stock usually happens
Great camera! MFT gets a bad rap from some folks. Ignore these folks! They are better at parroting tech specs than they are at taking pictures. I love my OMDS/Olympus gear.
Stopped watching the video at the point the person reviewing said “with the image quality rivaling full frame sensors.” I understand marketing and brand loyalty but you need to maintain some credibility.

Man, I'm Old! I still have an original OM1 film camera, with lenses, from over 40 years ago. It was a Great camera!

Very nice review, Susan!
Thanks for explaining the updates. Nice summary.
The OM-1 mark 1 already had a buffer of 90 pictures in ProCapture mode.

I did this exact upgrade. the camera offers so many more features, and is great. the size difference is astonishing though.
Have you ever done a video on how to shoot night sky or fireworks with the OM one cameras?
what a great review. if i didn't just buy an R8 last Christmas I would definitely check out this camera.
Best and inspiring Review 👍🙏🏾

M3/4,我家中有好多部,太正了,OM-1M2,出糧先買
Nice
Great camera!

I love my OMDS/Olympus gear.
Great
2x playback works for me
I like Olympus but their upgrades are slow and meager. I think the sun will burn out before they actually upgrade their antique 20 meg sensor.
The MOST "Letdown" camera of the year!! Just re-badging and firmware update not much more.

It does rival full frame sensors. Question is, are we talking older full frame sensors or newer ones?
Well even smartphone cameras rival full frame sensors these days, not by themselves but with computational photography. Rival does not mean supercede.
You guys should go rent one and see for yourselves
