I never thought I’d be sitting in my living room watching scenes from night clubs that i witnessed 30 years ago on my television screen. This is exactly how i remember it. Everyone was having so much fun dancing in almost total darkness.
I remember this from 1993 I was 34 and back then I felt there was more unity. Way better house music back then. The good thing that stuff is making a comeback in the underground.
Wow 4 years this has been up and I’m just finding it?!? I was there that night, words cannot express.. Well they can, but I write too much lol so I’ll spare you. I miss all the legendary haunts more than life itself, *the golden age!!* NYC was my 2nd home, I was blissfully sleep deprived and often even spent many hours vinyl shopping at Dance Tracks, Vinylmania etc. etc. after dancing til the sun came up. We’d hit a deli for sandwiches drinks walk around or sit in the parks in a daze until the shops opened. I think I survived because it was the music itself that was my heavy drug lol. Mostly ;)
Lived all of this and it is probably some of the best times that I had. Loved this Sound Factory! The music would pound right through your body Amazing!
THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL!Everything peeked in 93! Music, clubs, the new school, love, elevation, acceptance. Quality drugs that didn't kill half the people you know. Unfortunately I didn't start going to party's till 94, because I was only 13 in 93. But when we turned 14 my friend and I would ride the bus to the city, then in the morning he'd call his mom to pick us up. 😎
I have to comment again, after fully watching here on RUclips, Love the editing, slowing it down to catch the details, EVERTHING!, again Big Thank you, to MTV & all that made it happen, To Junior Vasquez for the fierce beats, Christina , I love you baby &Too all My Runway Children, dead & Alive,Richard Babe, I LOVE YOU , I LOVE YOU!! I was viewing with some friends, it brought back such fond memories for us, , This Was Considered, "The Diva Glacier Zone"
after the garage and a close race with club love sound factory had one of the best sound systems in new york even better then 54 and the palladium on 14th street
Junior knew how to tune a sound system to perfection. He did a gig (Arena?) at the Palladium - not my favorite venue - and the sound was just like Sound Factory, certainly superior to the Palladium on a regular night. I'm glad I was able to enjoy the SF back then, and it's a treat to see it on YT today.
I wish Red Bull or Dazed or Paper or Vice or SOMEBODY would finally write up a good proper ‘Oral History of the Sound Factory’ exposé, with candid interviews with all the awesome patrons and folks involved in putting these magical nights together. There’s been thoughtful articles on so many other great New York clubs of the past, and I don’t get why Sound Factory has been so neglected. If like ‘Exit’ or some crap gets a thoughtful oral history write up before SF does, I’m gonna throw a bf.
This was an amazing year for house music. Boston had a slightly different soundtrack at that moment. There was also a lot of great music coming from East Boston at the time.
I still have it in the crates but all my vinyl’s in storage currently :/ So many gems that it’s hard sometimes to recall, even a massive tune like this! I’ll get back if I can think of it!
@@TzadikTheManic Wow, thanks! This comment taught me to never underestimate the vastness of the internet as there literally was another one clip on RUclips of some people asking for the exact same track. Love that early 90s tribal sound. Progressive Garage at its best. 😍
@@NewtrendsMeyou’re very welcome 😉 -in fact, Junior throws in a second mix of the same track, you can hear it as soon as things get motoric and heavier, it’s another great mix: ruclips.net/video/2GHFwLy-7ss/видео.htmlsi=SPEA5AMgJHKCYmPq enjoy!
The vibe, music, even the crowd was definitely different that night as ppl knew mtv was coming, Junior and we all tried to service extra but yeah this really doesn't represent good old Factory.
Pascal's Bongo Massive - I Like It (Shirley Bassey Suite). Only just noticed that you can hear the crowd during that section, celebrating the two dancers going off.

Those times were/looked fun. Now for MTV it's not even remotely music anymore unless the vids are shown later time of the night?
