    I've only been watching for a little under a year but since then I have gotten a kitchen aid mixer, got the pasta attachments, made homemade pasta for the very first time, made homemade ranch, made homemade brown sugar, and made the most amazing pie crust from scratch (that my family absolutely loved for Thanksgiving)!! ALL because you have been such an amazing inspiration! I would never have done any of those things in the past but watching you has renewed my love for the kitchen. I'm so grateful to have found your channel! We just love you around here Becky!

    Please place the CO² detector down close to the floor. It doesn't work up at the ceiling as CO² falls to the floor not like smoke where it rises to the ceiling. I used sell the stuff and the fire dept told us this info so when I see this anywhere I can't help but inform people so they can avoid issues because of an incorrectly installed CO² detector.

    • @convivialgirl
      @convivialgirl Год назад +1

      Why would anyone have a CO2 detector unless you are adding CO2 as plant food? She SAID CO2 but I think she meant to say it was a Carbon Monoxide detector. CO2 is plant food. Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas that will kill you in large amounts. They are very very different.

    • @lisalittle7484
      @lisalittle7484 Год назад +2

      I think this is true for the radon detector too. When you test for radon the test is placed 3 feet from ground, so maybe its a heavier gas and best detected at lower levels. I have a house that has a mitigation system running continuously in order to reduce radon to safe level. So wise of you to be aware and take action concerning radon. Many blessings to you and prayers for baby's anticipated arrival.

    • @mariposavioleta9007

      @@lisalittle7484 "The preferred device location is near an interior wall at a height of 0.8 m to 2 m (3 to 6.5 feet) from the floor in the typical breathing zone, at least 50 cm (20 inches) from the ceiling and 20 cm (8 inches) from other objects so as to allow normal airflow around the detector." This is for the radon detectors where they should be placed. I get it that most don't want multiple units of detectors in their house but if it's not going to be accurate because it's combined with something else that has a differing level of where it sits then it doesn't help. Where I live it became mandatory to have CO detectors in 2015 so where I worked the fire dept came out and trained us on things to be able to properly sell them and explain the dangers to our customers and what to do when they go off etc. I just wanted to point out the best way to have it for it actually working out of concern for them and other watching so I hope it comes across that way

    As always, your video brings joy to my evening 😊
    Just a couple of pointers:
    - you should really bake focaccia in a metal sheet to achieve the classic crisp bottom 😋
    - “ravioli” is already the plural form (raviolo is singular), so no raviolis 😅 same for “biscotti”, it’s already plural (biscotto is singular) 😊
    Love from Italy ❤

    I don’t want to put any pressure on you to share the life of your baby once they arrive… but I did want to tell you that you have been so inspiring to me (I’m a mom of two and a full time homemaker) regarding house projects and cooking and gardening. I find myself thinking often when I watch your videos “man I wish I had all that kinda time to focus on those projects”. But I don’t in this season of life with two under 2. I’m looking forward to seeing how you balance being a mom with all the things you normally get up to in your videos. 1) I want to encourage you that it’s ok to not be able to keep up the same pace once the little one gets here. And in fact I’d encourage you to lean into the slowing down. I spent a lot of time anxious about how little I could get done with a newborn. Looking back I’m disappointed I had such crazy expectations of myself and I find it’s a very common thing with new moms, which can lead to doubt and ppd and trouble with breastfeeding and everything! I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. 2) I’m hoping that, when you find your new rhythm with the little one, that you can be transparent with your viewers about just how you’re juggling everything! You’ve always been wonderful at showing us messes and mistakes, and I hope you feel comfortable enough to include the things that happen because of being a mom. I’m hoping there will be more inspiration from “if she can do it, so can I!” When it comes to cooking and gardening even with a baby! 🥰

    Here in New Mexico, there is a season where people go out and actually pick the pine nuts. Also very time consuming as they are picked off the ground. But getting them and roasting them inside the shells is a real treat. A friends daughter once said "it's like a mouthful of heaven"!

    You need to lightly rub your cast iron pan when you store it, that is how keep mine and you don’t get that rust look or taste. I noticed that before I don’t know if anyone ever gave you that trick. I enjoy your channel.

    Foccaccia makes wonderful croutons. Make them 1 to 1 1/2 inches and top a good minestrone soup with them. Don't forget to add Parmigiano to them.

    Becky make sure you oil your pan with a little oil and paper after cleaning to season the pan so it doesnt rust. Never use soap as well. Clean the pan while its with hot water not cold water because it can crack

    You can just put a damp washcloth in with your items in the dryer and it will get a lot of the wrinkles out. I do it all the time.

    Warning!!! Your cO2 detector really needs to be close to the floor and definitely have one in the basement. cO2 and radon are heavier than our "air" and sink to the lowest level. Plz let your viewers know. I live in Colorado and have learned this repeatedly due to several families passing from cO2 poisoning. Love love love you!

    *** You need to get you a couple of pairs of kitchen scissors for cutting & opening things. Using your knives will ruin them & also cause you to have to sharpen them more than normal. **

    Becky, you should buy 1 more of the wooden card tables so that your able to extend the opposite side of your main table. Imagine how many more people you will be able to seat at your parties. I'm all about big gatherings..😁 just thought I would mention it!! And it gives you another game table for game night!! Win..Win!

I'm just now using the , I've stopped entertaining due to an injury with long term effects. It's a great investment. We got all white dinnerware and a really nice set of silverware.

    Looks like your cast iron skillet needs to be re-seasoned. Anytime you soak it in water it needs to be dried by placing on stovetop on warm for 5 or so minutes a light coat of oil inside. I like to use Crisco.
