Good evening. I am so glad your patient(s), survived the ordeal of the past few days/week. I’ve got some gen. tips. First, I am a retired animal keeper of a rescue zoo in PA. Over my tenure of 30 + yrs., I’ve served as head keeper of all the depts., (domestics + exotics), mainly w/ birds, mammals and reptiles. Anytime you put a turtle, baby or adult, in a container, please know that even a weak critter will try to escape, it gets them into real trouble as you’ve now experienced. Set your container up w/ a damp side and a dry side. Start by scuffing the inner bottom of your smooth plastic container. Gather up local dirt & clay, then use the clay for a bottom layer, across the entire container, it will stick to scuffed plastic. Mix the dirt & clay together, to make a mound for 1/2 of the container, pack it hard on top of your clay base. For a 2 headed turtle, Id not add water to the other 1/2 of container, which would be the wet side of a normal turtle temp habitat. It’s been our experience the 2 head turtles, heads, want do different things, even fight the other head, constantly flipping itself over, as you’ve seen. Turtles can easily drown, even in 1/8” of water. One head will become dominant, so until they grow up a bit and settle down, free access to water 24/7 is dangerous. Soak them instead, but never leave them alone in any water. At their stage offering water via dish is tricky, we don’t, we use a teeny syringe, that way we can monitor each heads water intake. Your turtle can also get water from foods you feed like crushed fish, plants, damp turtle pellets, etc. it’s a good idea to weigh your turtle weekly. Good luck to you on this journey, the 2 headed turtle can be difficult to manage. If you need help, there’s many online success stories, don’t hesitate to reach out to the folks keeping duel headed turtles alive and thriving.

To help them out, what you can do is give them an artificial center of mass by putting heavier weights underneath or use a magnet's repelling to prevent them from flipping by putting the repelling side on the top of the shell.

@@VyndettaahMedia Honestly, Elden Ring was the first thought that came to my mind when I got recommended this video. Getting to see a really cute pair of lads was a nice bonus, too, though.
Just know, animals with obvious visual deformations likely also have deformations elsewhere within their bodies. For all we know, these guys may pass in a week from any number of birth defects. Yes you want to hold out hope for survival, but always be prepared for it to go south.
"...And as he stares into the sky, there are twice as many stars as usual." Sorry, I don't mean anything, I just couldn't help but think of that little poem
Awww! So cute and sweet!!!! They should be ok until they get bigger. Their small size makes them a tough little one to take care of. But once they start growing, they will get better.
While I'd like these guys to make it, i will remind everyone that two headed animals like this almost never make it to adulthood i can only count like 3, however out of alot of others i do think he's got a really good chance with you so cautious optimism he makes it
There's even a two-headed human out there and apparently each of the heads has a separate brain that works perfectly fine so they have like independent thoughts and whatnot.
two-headed reptiles seem to have better odds of making it into adulthood. ive seen quite a few two-headed snakes and turtles, and even a bearded dragon in person. it just takes a lot of delicate care when they’re young
This reminds me a bit of the Blessed Siblings in Final Fantasy XIV... those are Mamool Ja (lizard people), not Kojin (turtle people) but close enough, I guess :D
Honestly speaking, if the two heads can work together, we might be witnessing evolution in the making. Centuries down the line turtles might always have two heads, when today the concept seems fictional.
That’s a little silly as there is no evolutionary advantage to this anomaly, in fact his little organs will already be struggling to survive. I mean, we can dream, right? 2 heads = cool but it’s not exactly advantageous in a survival situation 😕 what if one of the heads drowns? It would cause internal damage and the other one would die too.
@@Awfurfuksake On the other hand though, if one head is hit, hard, the animal as a whole will still be awake, despite one head being unconscious. Not to mention being able to look in two directions at once, or eat twice as fast. For basically anything but a turtle, two heads would be a massive bonus (assuming the organ failure issue is sorted out, as is usually the case with evolution). But, my point wasn’t that it was a useful trait. My point is, there are a lot of recorded examples of two-headed turtles out there, to the point where it’s the most common case of “Cerberism”. Clearly, something in a turtle’s DNA says two heads is a viable option, and there’s reasonably good odds of it working out for them eventually, especially since humans like the one who posted the video will look after the two-headed turtle, simply because “two heads is cool”. Humans are such dominant beings in the food chain that there a bunch of animals that have evolved to be liked by humans, because it’s simply the best way to survive. Dogs did it, cats did it, even a goldfish I really couldn’t see surviving in the wild. This could very well be one of those adaptations.
@@TeknightJit cannot survive without 24-7 supervision for the rest of its short life which is less then optimum. A turtle that drowns in water and cant flip itself back over gets naturally selected in hours.
@@TeknightJIt's not in a turtle's DNA though to have two heads. Even a two-headed turtle doesn't have DNA that makes it form two heads. What they are are Siamese twins - two individuals that are fused together. Each one has a normal set of DNA.
The reason they have such coordination issues is that each individual controls half the body, one front and one hind leg. So if one were to be unconscious, the other half would be very much doomed in a survival situation, as they would be, practically speaking, completely hemiplegic.
@@SourChicken1856get over yourself and let people have hope. Not everyone lives a dull hopeless life. Yeah, chances are it won’t survive, but crazier things have happened. The fact that you feel the need to go out of your way to be a raging pessimist is kinda weird behavior broski. Get better soon!

You really praying for that turle? 😂 you never worry about using your prayer credits up on such trivial things? God don’t even give a fuk about that turtle.
we’re greatly increasing stamina recovery speed with this one bois
Best talisman in the DLC, change my mind
@@Bodgie7878 i can’t, that thing is so good. and i’m SOO happy someone got that!
@@VyndettaahMedia Honestly, Elden Ring was the first thought that came to my mind when I got recommended this video. Getting to see a really cute pair of lads was a nice bonus, too, though.
THEYRE SO FRICKING ADORABLE THO
The Two Headed Calf , is the saddest, sweetest poem I've ever read
Just know, animals with obvious visual deformations likely also have deformations elsewhere within their bodies.
For all we know, these guys may pass in a week from any number of birth defects. Yes you want to hold out hope for survival, but always be prepared for it to go south.
Theyre adorable and unique, may they live and prosper.
Poor babies, I'm happy you're taking care of them❤ 🥺❤ Their little sweet eyes
When you’re 3/4” tall 1/2” of water is a boat load…
Right? Thats like up to our shoulders sorta in silly comparison!❤
Exactly. How did he think they should sleep in that water without having to constantly hold their heads up and NOT drown? Ridiculous
CPR on a two-headed turtle. I love learning new things every day!!!
It's not possible to do CPR on a turtle.
"...And
as he stares into the sky, there are
twice as many stars as usual."
Sorry, I don't mean anything, I just couldn't help but think of that little poem
Wow a two headed creature that is normal functioning two whole heads
The fact that it’s playing the song “Double life” in the background it kinda makes sense because of the turtle having double the head 😂❤
For half of this video I thought they were made out of clay, but then one blinked and I had a crisis
Keep going bro. You’re their only hope. They need you
Damn. Glad you saved them.
Lol the two uncoordinated blinks 😂
Name them Kit-Kat 😂
They're so cute. Good luck!
Poor babies arent gonna have an easy life, but they're so cute
Poor little buddies… they’ll survive thanks to you!!
That split brain cell is working overtime for them 🤣, poor guys hope their coordination gets better 😊👍
You need to add a float to that container like a perch for them to rest on that gradually slopes into/out of the water level
Awwww so sad. You are so kind and sweet for trying to help them.
I was convinced that this wasn’t a real turtle, but when I saw them move I gasped so loud making my husband ask what was wrong…
damn i need a daily update on those guys
God bless you for trying to keep these guys alive
I genuinely thought this was a joke thing, like that just a really well made sculpture but then the blinking sounds opened my eyes...😮😮
it's so refreshing to see someone acknowledge that two headed animals are TWO animals! so often people refer to them as if it's just one guy
this greatly boosts your stamina recovery speed
Make sure to keep them warm (but dont accidentally kill them with a heater or something).
I hope these two lil guys survive
Yeah they won't lol

Don't care, i'm just stating a fact. Cope harder.

It's called just having the feet on the ground. Two headed animals ALWAYS die, they literally can't sustain themselves.
Blessed Siblings
I would love to see an xray of them just to see what’s connected and what’s not ! Hoping for a promising future for these two lil guys !
They have got to be the cutest thing I've ever seen! I think I said that correctly lol "Lord, please protect these precious babies and allow them to live a happy life before you call them home! I think this human will take extra care of them! Amen."
I m gonna bless them both , they gonna live a long life ❤
Maybe a prosthetic to keep them from flipping?
Dude the guy with the k-pop ex was so fun to listen to he needs to do this for a living 😂
I love how you wake up one day and are like "this mf nearly drowned in half an inch of god damn water..."
Like, NOW we get how sensitive the situation is!! Lol!
Try keeping in just damp paper towl for a while in high humidity
They need to be named Barf and Belch. 😂😂😂 I’m getting those vibes from them.
Ying and Yang 👍
They were both Thinking-" How do WE get Away from This GIANT MONSTER WITH A VIDEO CAMARA."😅
this feels kinda cruel idk maybe they’re chilling
I’m sorry little turtle or turtles but they share 1braincell
Two heads, no braincells 😂❤ So cute.
