I get that WWE is trying to make Summerslam as big as WrestleMania, but winning the big one at Summerslam doesn't quite have the same ring to it as winning at WrestleMania in my opinion.
While I'm certain WWE is gonna WWE this, I'm optimistic that the Roman result could help flesh out Cody's character a bit more long term. The injury adversity, no.30 Rumble return, and prophetic/ideal win for his for Father under the lights of the grandest stage of it all, could really be a "dream shattering" wake-up call that: (1) He has to look inward and realize he needs to do this for himself. (2) He'll need to sacrifice everything and risk it all to get the gold. While it's likely WWE just wants Roman at 1,000, it would be awesome to see slow-grind drama/payoff, considering that's the basis of his return. With a ballsy call like that last night, I seriously hope for the latter. Aside from that, Demon Balor losing to Edge was pointless. It basically positions Balor simply as a hooligan heel that isn't really a threat..
It just feels like a booker t losing to triple h at mania moment, he was supposed to be a top main event face if he won but he was reduced to upper middle carder cause he lost barely got a world title run and a ridiculous accent few years later
It was great going into mania you had people saying Roman was retaining and other people saying Cody was winning it was amazing, then the ref hit three and the crowd went dead silent it reminded me of elimination chamber when Sami lost and not even Kevin could get a huge pop from Montreal
I knew Cody was going to lose. Once he beat Solo Sokoa he sealed his fate. It would have been predictable if Cody won at Wrestlemania. The match was great. Cody didnt lose clean. Roman had help.
Honestly, I personally feel like this bloodline thing would have been wrapped up completely last night. Had Cody not torn his pectoral muscle because that was nearly 7 months of him, rehabbing him being off TV and healing that had he not gotten injured they could’ve been building towards this very night, and he would’ve got his crowning moment then. It’s a shame that I’m certain he can put a stake in plans like this, but I guess adversity builds character nowadays, and they’re going to find a new avenue in this bloodline story, seeing as the Usos lost their titles and Roman didn’t so expect that power dynamic to come in to play over the next few months towards SummerSlam when Cody gets his eventual win and we see Roman by himself completely for the first time And completely vulnerable
I disagree with the "Cody might have his moment but it won't feel the same" statement... If this is booked properly, Cody will be even more over, and the payoff will be bigger.
Honestly it wasn’t disappointing because Roman retained I didn’t even mind it but all the other matches were disappointing Gunther just carried the match
hhh put a smile on my face. so glad roman won. also this match only became unpredictable because roman won. so saying the rematch will be predictable forgetting that literally everyone prior was saying cody is obviously winning.
When the USO's dropped the belt, I was in that moment certain Roman was winning on night 2, because of where I believe the Bloodline storyline needs to go, I think Jey needs to be the guy ultimately, because that is the only satisfying conclusion to the whole Bloodline story, it has to come full circle with Jey coming out on top, likely with the entire rest of the Bloodline doing for him what they all did for Roman for these past 3 years (just desserts). I predict that Roman having his belts while the Uso's have lost theirs, will be the catalyst leading into that breakdown of the Bloodline from within. I don't think Roman will be who Cody wins the belt from either. So that match wasn't so much the issue, but the rest of the matches of the night weren't overall as good as night 1, and neither of the other 2 titles on the line during night 2 moved at all either. Sheamus didn't get his IC win, and Belair has been stagnating for awhile as the Raw women's champ, so the lack of title movement, coupled with less interesting non-title matches, lead to a disappointing overall night 2. Once we get beyond the Bloodline and Roman Reign's story/title run I truly hope that WWE stops having the extremely long, stale ass title runs. When talent sometimes only have a career length on average of 10-15 years if they are lucky, and often hit the main roster with half or more of that already behind them, there really needs to be more title mobility and moments for each talent to shine. It doesn't surprise me at all to see these talents consider their options and jump ship to other promotions when they realize how poorly used they will be with very limited opportunity.
Cody's winning it. Most likely to an interference from Jey Uso, who betrays Roman sooner or later. Cody will win most likely at SummerSlam, as he is the one who got out of the guillotine, and proved himself to be that guy to take the reign from Roman. It's crazy how far people gave up on Cody, but he's the obvious choice. Difference is, is that Jey Uso is gonna end that year long rivalry not with a title, but a sweet revenge he's been longing so long for.
I'm still pissed they sacrificed Cody's momentum just for that stupid 1000 day number. And even if Cody wins in the future like you said, the moment won't hit the same again.
I was so mad at first but I thought about it and I understand. Romans title reign is one of if not the best title reign of all time and it wouldn't make sense for Cody to win yet cause let's be honest, he only returned 1 year ago so I understand why he wouldn't be able to beat Roman yet. Great match though
Not really. Dude had him down for the count, it was only cause of interferences that Cody lost. He's gonna win sooner or later, because he showed he was more than ready.
I'm glad we agree on the fact that Cody Rhodes will win eventually, but it's not gonna hit the same. In other words, when he eventually does win, the fickle crowd will turn on him. Calling it now...
Cody's not a draw, he's just over with the Marks. Same with Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and all those other jobbers. Sad that no one cares about storylines anymore, all people want are long boring matches.
Its such a shame not only for cody but for Reigns, what better time to end a historic reign like this other than wrestlemania, if cody ends up winning it 2 months from now or even at summerslam it wont cement him as the megastar that it would have right now, truly a damn shame, it couldve been one of the top wrestlemanias if it wasnt for that deflating ending

@@gingerpotter21 and HHH basically alluding that black dudes can’t win the WHC, even though book carried it multiple times at that point 😭
@@DahcipheR ugh he and cody deserve better
The Dogg father of WrestleMania saved that segment so well that I actually thought the whole thing was scripted
WWE made the right decision. Cody’s moment felt infinitely better and the bloodline story got way better
THE STORY IS FINISHED
I know
The *ending* was disappointing; the rest of the night was great. Damn did the ending hurt.
This is the perfect "they had us the in the first half" moment
i didnt mind the ending because its been a while since something this unpredictable happened.
That was banger finish, when you really thought he was gonna win then BAM, the Turnover comeback. was Fire
We were expecting Cody as champion, a return of Randy Orton or Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss but instead we got 3 minutes of Shane McMahon.......
3:12 hearing him say this now 😢
Honestly, I personally feel like this bloodline thing would have been wrapped up completely last night.
Nope lol. It's done.
@@MugdhaMahdiShams you're done. I'm not. I'm all for it.
@@xLanzer Good for you. *kazoo noises*
And you were right I had the same thought as well and the payoff was bigger.
@@mzhchief4623 we were right, man. HHH proved everyone wrong.

This was probably the most heartbreaking night
I see what they are doing, tho
1000 days
3 years at summerslam
but stil
Usos helped Roman retain his championship. Roman and Solo didn't even show up while Usos were defending.
Shows the inequality in the bloodline.
Makes Sami and Kevin's win feel more important.
Also... Get the Tonk-A-Meter
Night 1: An amazing show from triple H
Night 2: Welcome back Vince🙃
I can agree it was disappointing but it wasn’t like wreslemania 38 there was still good matches
after this match i was scared wrestlemania 40 is gonna be predictible but now i have no idea whats about to happen in wrestlemania 40
Honestly it wasn’t disappointing because Roman retained I didn’t even mind it but all the other matches were disappointing Gunther just carried the match
walter really beat 2 former world champions at the same time ! Good shit
I'm happy for Roman❤ but sad for Cody 😢
Why r u happy he cheats every time

You've been killing these videos lately. Keep it up.
Triple Threat match was match of the year tho🤷🏿♂️🔥
Could honestly main event any pay-per-view
Shane McMahon the female ref was shouting PEOPLE'S ELBOW too loud and too much, that it made so hilarious.
I’m sad cody lost
Hahaha and i laugh at it 🤣
The way you said that Shane couldn't last one minute is hilarious 😂😂😂
hhh put a smile on my face. so glad roman won. also this match only became unpredictable because roman won. so saying the rematch will be predictable forgetting that literally everyone prior was saying cody is obviously winning.
When my dad cheered when Roman won I was just disappointed, I felt empty and watching a Roman match doesn't have any meaning anymore
Felt bad for Cody ian gon lie 🤦🏾♂️
i'm still pissed about Bianca winning man.. asuke deserves better and her WrestleMania moment.
I’m convinced Vince booked night 2
now that i revisited this video i'm loving wrestlemania 40 even more
WrestleMania season becomes more great with greatones content ❣️
Not only he lost the title opportunity...but also got humiliated by the beast Brock Lesnar in raw😈😈
Let’s ruin the most anticipated wm mainevent finish just for 1000 day shirts 😂
Disappointment is a craaaaazy word to use greatone 😭
@@solredqueen good point
I'm glad we agree on the fact that Cody Rhodes will win eventually, but it's not gonna hit the same. In other words, when he eventually does win, the fickle crowd will turn on him. Calling it now...
This shows Vince is back in charge
Cody's not a draw, he's just over with the Marks. Same with Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and all those other jobbers. Sad that no one cares about storylines anymore, all people want are long boring matches.
imagine cody breaks romans streak at day 999☠️
Roman will hit 1000 days at King Of The Ring
Its such a shame not only for cody but for Reigns, what better time to end a historic reign like this other than wrestlemania, if cody ends up winning it 2 months from now or even at summerslam it wont cement him as the megastar that it would have right now, truly a damn shame, it couldve been one of the top wrestlemanias if it wasnt for that deflating ending
Roman deserves those 1000 days. Not every story should have a happy ending
The matches were kinda bad tbh
The only good matches imo were
Edge vs Finn HIAC
Gunther vs Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus IC title
Cody vs Roman
Imagine Randy Orion came and helped Cody to win by rkoing roman and Cody wins and he just hits a rko on Cody too to create another rivalry
