- Everyday is an adventure in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and today we ride in a decommissioned Ukrainian Fire Department Van to drive around the city to deliver hot meals before our interview on Ukrainian radio...we don't make it. It felt like a real life Grand Theft Auto 6 mission.

I've shared this with on my Twitter & FB timelines, as many of my followers are in Scotland and will be delighted to hear a Scottish voice in Kharkiv. Please tell Martha if you see her again. And if she's looking for another driver (who can navigate & read Cyrillic) I am available...
Big up Martha doing Scottish proud 🏴🇺🇦
In the UK, we have foodbanks, normally run from Church Halls, were food is distributed to those in need. People usually know where their local church is and can find the hall easily.
If you are going to be delivering meals to people's homes, you really need paper maps, with a route highlighted for the driver, so that you are not reliant on Sat Nav.
If you can persuade ex-taxi drivers to donate some of their time, that might also help as they would be familiar with the localities.
You are doing great work, keep it up.
God bless you and keep you safe from harm.
Slava Ukraini.
Even google maps is totally fine. If anyone has a brain they pre-download the map of Ukraine long in advance so you not only don’t need gps, but cell connectivity either and they act like paper maps only better. You can still punch in your address and get directions, and hem use the map like a paper map, count the roads you drive by and read the street names as you near your destination. It’s so friggin simple, and it’s terrible that two grown 40+ year old men can’t do that.
@@MikeOxlong- show me the button on Google Maps for bad GPS. It will reposition the map to where it thinks it is. Once you are used to driving by Google maps it’s hard to ignore its directions when you move from a functional area to a nonfunctional one. I work on an ambulance and 20 year olds are the worst. Some of them couldn’t find their way home without their GPS.

@@nurseSean you’re clrealy as inept as the others. You don’t need a dot when you know where you are either starting from or by street corner signs…
The most basic of basic of survival skills (and they’re not even that)… 🤦♂️
@@LaGrandeBayou yea really…. 🤦♂️
I would suggest printing out paper maps for delivery of the meals and other supplies for those that don't know the area. I'm sure they use the old soviet Street, Building number, apartment number scheme. Where in some areas the buildings aren't anywhere near the street, it can be hugely confusing. Definitely need paper maps.
Common knowledge that GPS & Googlemap is jammed wherever high security sensitive areas are. So, u must fall back on paper maps.
Johnny Thank you for what you're doing, greetings from Kharkiv!
A frustrating day delivering the meals, but you got there in the end. The lovely restaurant food at the end with your friend was a good relief. Well done again, Johnny. You make us proud.
Tell me about it!
@@JohnnyFD I just fell for a fake Johnny reply 🙈
@@JohnnyFD Logistics has been a key part of this war. Working out the first day of a food distribution system is logistics; is not trivial; and is important work.

Awesome work Johnny. Slava Ukraini.
It’s great to see a small follow up at the end of your video. It shows how your visit to an orphanage 5 months ago has inspired people to contribute and help in any way they can. The Ukrainian Centre in Doncaster is doing a great job supporting Ukraine and those who fled the war to take refuge in the UK. Orphans across Ukraine depend on aid during this dreadful attack on their peace loving country.
The metro system in Kiev, Ukraine's capital city, is strikingly beautiful.
First opened in the 1960's when Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, it is filled with chandeliers, mosaics, and colorful stone.
Pro tip: Buy a map... Or print one before traveling. That's what I did 15 years ago when I had to travel for work.
I can speak ukrainian and russian, I want to come help you guys!
Why carry stuff around before confirming the right person at the right place...
This is the kind of stuff you should do more of !!!
Now im hungry. Again. Wait, is this a food channel? ;-)
I think it is! 🤔
Yes, it is!
Johnny you're as always awesome and brave! Please keep up the good work!
Hi Johnny. I discovered your RUclips channel only a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying your daily life videos immensely. The restaurant footage always makes me hungry too. I'm working with a couple Ukraine groups on various projects. It's great to see you doing good work with projects there in Ukraine too. Have you considered creating a Johnny FD crew to support Ukraine projects and also staff them in Ukraine? Just saying. Keep up the good work, Johnny.
Johnny most sincere involved blogger utuber etc ever......Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava 💙💙💛💛🙏🙏
Great Work Johnny.... Sometimes helping others takes the focus off our situation. Plus its nice to meet grateful people.
Love to all these wonderful people 💪💙💛
You are right: Ukraine will be developing way above what it was before the war once Russia will be defeated.
Thanks for giving us a video of inside! Your meal delivery was a total success! I especially loved the delivery of the two very important comfort care stuffed animals for those adorable little girls! The end of this video is especially sweet!
Hi Johnny, another great video showing the hard work of all the volunteers, I am pretty close to Doncaster around 50km East.
20:40 Hope you tipped them well! I would happily pay $100-$150 for that amazing meal and drinks with a nice company! $25 is cheaper than mcdonalds ffs :D That is awesome!
That was a lovely acknowledgement at the end for gifts sent. I remember the video of visits to the orphanage. I hope they are doing well.
Johhny hi brother !!
we need help here in Turkey.. can you please make a video or shorts so that more people can hear and help us !!!
I've shared it all over my Instagram and Twitter. I hope you guys the best and to get through the tragedy.
Stay safe bro!👍💙💛🇺🇦🙂
God bless your generosity
You should invest in a good flashlight, like Olight! To be safe in the pitch black nights in the city!
Love, peace and happiness JOHNNY to you and all Ukrainian people.❤
Awesome video Johnny! Looked like a difficult day. 😳 So glad you found the places to deliver. Great how people are helping! And by the way, you always make me so hungry! Both the meals and drinks looked delicious! 👌
Hey Johnny, have a paper map as backup. Google map isn't alway accurate.
When Johny tries to speak ukrainian to strangers, he always say 3 words that he knows and then he is stuck. And people - ukrainians are confused like what the hell wants this mongolian from us. It is always so ridiculous.
😂😂
How people make money during the war?
Hey Johnny, maybe you can find some reliable paper map and do it old style when there's no GPS signal
Maybe people aren't as bad as I thought since February 24th. You restore faith that still there are good people Johnny. Respect from Poland.✌️ 🇵🇱🇺🇦🇺🇸
Arrange for pickup at a landmark location rather than the actual final destination.Take a map with the locations marked.
You got the food to the right people in the end ✔️ you might need to obtain some old-fashioned paper maps.
Much respect Johnny. At first I thought you'd just escape but you proved me wrong.
Great job helping out man. Respect brother.
What a legend!!! Thanks for what you doing in Ukraine. If there is any money needed - maybe we could contribute some? Let us know 👍
On the channel 'Orest Zub' in his community post is a fundraiser for walkie talkies. Direct and quick help for the newly recruited soldiers. Orest is the guy in the end of this video.
Great you are helping Ukraina 🇺🇦 Johnny! 👍😀🤝🇸🇪
Thank you, Johnny. Thank you everyone who helps
Johnny your video's show how it is now add the moment . Love that you always stay your self and just put it the way it is .
Johnny is risking his life for cheap food
That’s great keep spreading positive energy and food. Thanks 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀😀😀

Your getting back to peak fitness Johnny 💪 your Ukrainian language skills will be fluent soon 🤗amazing work, keep it up 👍 have a break in May, come to Liverpool to support Ukraine's Eurovision song contest 🇪🇺😎 💙💛 🎙️
@JohnnyFD-_ you are fake goodbye🤬
Johnny, be cool - Britisch Star architect has been developing the rebuild plan for Kharkiv after the war:
"The British star architect Norman Foster caused a stir in April when he offered his services for the reconstruction of Kharkiv pro bono, entirely for free. Since then, Sir Norman has been in regular contact with Kharkiv's mayor Ihor Terekhov via video link."
If they wanna keep their identity, they should work with a local architect. Norman Foster is just doing some marketing to give his name a boost. He better builds new cities in Saudi Arabia and probably that won't be for free.

He is 85 already...

Thank you for your help and thank you for worthwhile and meaningful content !
Is Elon F*cking with the Starlink???
Ukraine will be lucky to be a country when this war is done. It's awesome that you are helping people but you better have an evacuation plan. Good chance the fighting will come back, be safe.
Thank you for helping … Johnny how about getting a head lamp when your on those dark streets at night .
i like it, you do something, good luck to ukraina people from Swedwn.
I would not like to be a pizza delivery guy in Kharkiv right now....
I hope you’re ok. Praying for you and all Ukrainians. Be safe.
Thank you Johnny,
Excellent work ,
Cheers from Adelaide, Australia .
Aahh yes the ol' Fiat Doblo... A 20 year old 1.9L JTD (that's diesel) rust bucket. We got one for our K9s... If it doesn't stink like diesel in the cabin then something is wrong with the car 😂
I hope you are alright. I read Kharkiv got bombed. Hoping it's an old article. Great work Johnny.
thanks Johny, you're definitely earning a bunch of random handshakes and hugs in UA :)
P.S. we were recently walking by where you live in Kyiv - the Порш is fine :)

What about paper maps do they print any paper maps
Thank you for your work!!!!! Awesome to see what they are doing. Johnny do you have a statement about bald, and why he is so pro Russia and anti West?

Does World Central Kitchen make it to Kharkiv?
Yes, they were actually in partnership with 450 Restaurant during the peak of the war. I believe WCK provided the funding, and 450 Cooked the meals. There are photos on their instagram: instagram.com/p/Ce206kBNNaQ/
Johnny get you an atlas paper map and draw out your destination before you leave sometimes you have to go back to the old ways instead of using new technology❤😊
always take cat/dog food with you. I always see dogs who are begging for food in your videos
It looks like a real dark kitchen
There was no electricity that day.
Incredible people!!
I just checked that Black British Suzuki car and it still registered here and has MOT 🤣
It's rude to constantly mention the difference in price for food or things in general. East European people feel offended to hear this constantly. They won't tell you tough but they're annoyed by it. Lots of people in this regions can't even afford a meal like this and you constantly rub it in basically in all your videos. My wife is Bulgarian, she can confirm it. Just try to act like your an Ukrainian citizen and forget you're American.
I have Ukrainian friends and they tell me the price differences like it's a good thing. It is a selling point for tourists and Ukraine should make the best out of it.
@@unreal4127 you miss the point here. He constantly repeats how cheap life is in Ukraine but forgets life isn't cheap for locals. Most part of the population has to live in survival modus and now this war doesn't make it easier. The point is in the West we constantly mention the price for everything. The news is all about what to do with our money or how to spend our money. It's all about money, money and money. In the Eastern countries for instance they don't make a topic of it.
@@lennaertvanhee He hasn't forgotten that some people don't get much money. You are missing the point that maybe Ukrainians don't mind that we promote Ukraine as a great place to visit and get value for money. My friends and many Ukrainian vloggers have also demonstrated what food and other stuff costs there.
@@unreal4127 Johnny keep on acting like a tourist while he is a Ukrainian resident since more than two years. He should not keep on saying how cheap everything is. Ukraine or no other Eastern needs to be promoted through his or another vlogger. We all know this countries having a low standard of living. There is no middle class like Western countries have. In the main cities you have people living a decent life standard. Out of this cities people have to struggle daily with bills.
When the monthly wage (after taxes) of the local people is 300-500 usd (if they are lucky to have a paid job), they have to pay the bills, take care of the family, buy food on the market and at the same time to be constantly worried that something nasty would fall from the sky - then these local people don't laugh and feel happy about the prices in restaurants.
The minimal pension in Ukraine is about 60 usd per month, average pension around 150 usd per month.
Ironic. Just feeding people eating cold soup and then bragging about your big juicy tomahawk steak for $25.
That was the price of dinner for two. Yes, even Ukrainians themselves eat well which helps the restaurants. I bet the soup was fantastic after it was warmed.
👍
Good to see you finding Useful ways to help. No offense but If you tried to evacuate civilians in Bakmut I don’t see it going well. 😅
God bless you Johnny

Hey, Johnny surprise you don't have a flashlight or battery lantern for your dark street?
Normally I use the flashlight on my phone, but I was filming with it at that moment.

Doing Canada proud!
Were the heck does the steak come from I'd like to know the story of that is it local raised or shipped in? That would determine the cost of it more!

Johnny you can blame yourself when thousands of westerners move to Ukraine after the war and drive up living costs 😀 That steak would definitely be a good 60 bucks and up in the US!
Ukraine will need it after the war to restimulate their economy. =)
