I remember a long time ago I saw a technique that involved twisting the egg up in a shirt or cloth and pulling both ends of the cloth to make it spin/mix. Definitely a cheaper option but might create an egg slingshot by accident.
Thanks for the mental image. Haha
nighthawkinlight i believe is where that is from, awesome channel.
@@tonyxing6015 Yea, it's him, dude can teach you to mix an egg inside it's shell AND how to make super rare japanse fireworks. and a bunch of other stuff, he's been making youtube videos for longer than some people have been alive.
Its like 30 bucks on amazon, Id rather buy that then waste time scrambling my eggs every morning before work. Plus imagine making deviled eggs like this. You could make a couple dozen in no time. Just need steal the yoke from other eggs xD
@@gabrielferreira7550 every youtuber has.
You can also just shake them vigorously on your own and eventually get there. You'll know you've done it once you feel the egg's weight distribution change
This! Not sure why we need a machine for it when we can do it by hand easily :D
@@CyberMew Try with ostrich eggs.

Thanks for pointing that out, I eat a lot of boiled eggs.
Makes sense; the easiest way to peel an egg is to separate the skin from the egg. Easier to do when it's over the white as the white stronger and more flexible than the yolk.

To peel your eggs easier without taking out chunks of them, run them under cold water immediately after they are done boiling, then crack each one and let them soak in cold water for a couple of minutes before peeling.
You can also add baking soda to the boiling water.

I'm amazed that after all these years you haven't run out of ideas for cool videos.
Place the egg in the middle of cloth. Roll the cloth. No you have tortilla-like folded cloth with the egg in the middle. Grab the opposite ends of cloth in each hand. Start to spin it by doing circles with your wrists. Stop and pull the cloth apart. That'll suddenly stop the spinning. Start to do circles in the other direction. Stop. Pull apart. Repeat few times. Now you have mixed egg.
Yeh, all mixed up all over the kitchen floor and with lots of smashed shell mixed in. Yum.
😂
Nice one. Now try to get the pepper back in the can.
The yolk is the best part! I give the whites to the dog.
Bro you've consistently made interesting videos for a very long time now. You're golden
My grandmother had something like this back in the 1970’s, except there was a angled pin that would pierce the shell and would spin inside the egg to scramble it.
2:56 Do people really not like egg yolk? To me it's the best part of the egg.
Agreed. Sunny side up on a piece of toast. Slash that yolk and use it as food lube. Yum!

@@daizdamien1409 easily
@@daizdamien1409 by not liking it.
Egg whites are the gross part. Raw egg whites are the part that resembles snot and makes me what to throw up the egg white. The raw yolk is more of a liquid and is not snotty. Yolks tastes great. Egg whites gross.
You can accomplish this, btw, by shaking the devil out of the eggs. I've done this before just to see if I could. I didn't care for it as I prefer scrambled but it can be done.
I like that you're now showing formulas in your videos.
I am amazed by how good you are explaining all those phenomena, keep up the good work ♥️♥️♥️♥️🔥🔥🔥
I can imagine a lot of people after this video are going to try shaking an egg with their hand to see if they can achieve the same result, I know I will
and dropping some of them
I've done that for years, works just fine if you want to mix them in the egg.
You can but an easier way is to wrap the egg (securely lol) in a towel and spin it that way
I was thinking of putting one in a plastic bag and helicopter it for awile.:
Edit: Tried it, didn't work
you can also do this by getting a full sleeve shirt and putting the egg in the sleeve, tying off both ends, grabbing the sleeve from the two ends like a handlebar and then spinning it around. Once it's spinning pretty fast, just pull both ends away from the center and the egg will spin the other way to unravel the sleeve. It is in effect the same idea, just along a different axis.
Best commercial for an egg mixer in history.
Going straight to Amazon!
Same >angular< speed.
i don't know what i could conceivably use this for aside from winning dumb bets, but it's good to know it exists.
I finally know why I intuitively spin the opposite direction with im stirring something xD
I remember a number of years ago watching TV at 3 in the morning and seeing a device claiming to do this exact thing. A few months later I saw the exact same product now being sold at the 99cent store so I purchased it. Product failed miserably so thanks for this free video showing how to actually do this cuz I'll never get that 99 cents back.
Cool for people that don't like yolk. I don't know why you wouldn't. The yolk is the best part! Especially for dipping toast in or cucumber. Soft boiled eggs with top cut off for the win
I was soooo looking forward for that glass bowl to spin out of control and take off! :)

I had seen this but with a device that only has an egg holder and string on the sides. You had to spin the egg holding one string in each hand in one direction and the same in the other one.

Yolk is better than the white. How can someone not eat the yolk?
There's this thing called taste preference and it's pretty subjective
@@GrantH2606 Yolk is more nutritious, it has more vitamins
You can also do this with a long sleeve shirt. stick the egg halfway up the sleeve, tie a string on either side of the egg to make a pocket, then grab either end of the sleeve, swing it in circles for a few seconds, and pull tight. Do this a few times, and you'll get a fully blended egg without having to buy the device.
I tried doing this once, but instead of using the proper machine and concepts, i just violently shook the egg in my hand for like 5 minutes. Turns out the egg just exploded inside the pan mid-boil....
That sounds much more fun!
You shook it soo hard, you popped the air sac and foamed the egg. 👍
Vevor can be used as a stud finder well in a home with heat
I wonder what will happen if you first put the egg in almost-boiling water so that the egg white just barely starts curdling, then mix it in the device.

Cool experiment. But as a guy who loves the yoke and not the whites, it just ruins the egg. But it would be handy for French toast and fried rice maybe.
💯
Question is, can you get salt to diffuse through the shell first? so the spun egg is salted properly? can you poach them in this state?
Question - if you make scrambled eggs with this, do they turn out fluffy / normal? I eggs almost every morning for my spouse and I've always got a dirty bowl and fork afterwords. It would be nice to cut down on that!

There are people that don't like the yolk? In Germany we consider the yolk to be the best part of an egg. There's even a common saying "Es ist nicht das gelbe vom Ei", "It isn't the yellow of the Egg", used when you think something is suboptimal.
Every nation on Earth thinks the egg yolk is the best part of the egg. There are Germans who don't like the egg yolk though. People have all sorts of taste peculiarities for many different reasons
"Always mix the eggs at room temperature"... or as we Europeans call it: "the only temperature they ever have"
Wow. I can't believe the rigamarole I had to go through to get that done. Back in the late 80s I soldered one of my mothers' straight pins to the armature of a small motor ( don't tell her. Kidding she gave it to me ). I bent the pin. After which I had an in shell mixer. All I had to do was poke a hole in the TOP of the shell, insert the 'mixer blade', and let it rip for about ten seconds.
I was to cheap to buy lead free solder though. The lead 'never' came into contact with the egg. Oh yeah, I had an old art deco looking Sunbeam egg poacher. If I had a syringe I probably would have injected some flavor into them.
I take exception to the use of the word “diffusion” in the relative motions of the layers of liquid. It’s differential laminar flow.
I am sure this experiences will contribute immensely to the Theory of everything and fluid dynamics can explain the Big Bang maybe 13.8 billion years ago our universe was nothing but a huge fluid. I'm not being absolutely serious, just lighthearted... Overall, I enjoyed the video, although at times I wonder if we may be overly focused on rationalizing scientific theories to the point where we lose sight of the real-world issues that they are meant to address. But I like to learn new things with the Action Lab 😉😉😄😄
And maybe, along with this line of reasoning, it could possibly offer clues in order to propose answers to the deep philisophical questions of: "What came first; the chicken or the egg?"... and "Why the chicken crossed the road?"
*Edit: Gramma.
"So you can have hard-boiled eggs with no yolk."
Well there's your first complication: you still HAVE a yolk! Just because the yolk is mixed in with the white doesn't mean it has somehow "disappeared"!

Why am I grossed out by a mixed egg? Maybe my brain thinks it's gone bad because it should be white.

While this device is cool to see in action, it's better for us to eat our yolks runny rather than mixed up. Over easy is better for us than scrambled for example. I learned that while researching the carnivore diet.
And my husband bought a FLIR thermal device like the one showed in your vid and it's awesome for finding warm/cold spots in our house so he knows where to add insulation. Very much worth the investment as we'll save on energy costs!
You can have the same effect with a sock... You just got scammed
Wouldn't ultrasound work as well?
Does liquid absorb smells? If you have a pungent substance under water or oil, does it completely block the smell, or will the liquid absorb and diffuse it?
I think liquid absorbs the smell. It's the certain molecules that you smell.
@@Steel0079 that's what I figured, but it's not a chemical change, so the liquid can become saturated with the smell. Does it then just become a 'that smell' scented liquid? It wouldn't alter any molecules?
@@Grommie122 @Matthew Groom no it wouldn't alter any molecules. Unless the elements or compounds that came in contact normally react with each other. Substances just diffuse into each other, and liquid will have more molecules of that smelly substance than before. And we will sense that through smell, because we are sensitive to certain molecules. I'm no expert in this, but as I understand it, these molecules interact with cells in our nose, or it is that the cells in our nose have evolved to interact with them. But other than that, liquid wouldn't be no different than air at diffusing the smelly substance IMO.
