Word! This Master is Telling it like it is through a thick accent. Don't let that fool you, his advice is like a sweet nectar for the wise. Resisting the worldly temptations and looking 'with in'' is found in ALL the great wisdom traditions. He's done a great job of decoding the practice and cultivation of Virtue. I love how Daoists keep it simple and explain it in terms of body energy. Thank you Yun Xiang Tseng Shi Fu.

I am coming home. I was just thinking this morning how I have always been different from most people. Even my children don't get me, and I get much anger from them aimed at me because they believe everything negative that happens to them is my fault. No one wants to take responsibility for the actions that they do. I have been feeling very alone for a while now, no friends, because I don't think like the main stream person, no family, they either don't get me, or they are dead. But I found this channel this morning and realized that I need to come back home to me. I am my own love piece and harmony, always have been, I just forgot for a little while. Thank you for guiding me here, and come back to my Tao. You helped me remember. Thanks so much. I have subscribed.

Tao to me is common sense. They should teach about energy in kindergarten and maybe people wouldn't be so miserable after knowing they cause it to themselves. Maybe if they knew their path depends only on the way they handle their own life force, they would allow themselves to be happy, and not spend their life finding excuses for why they aren't.

My favorite joke about Nature is in the first lines of the Tao Te Ching, where it says (roughly my translation after years of laughing with it,) "The Tao that can be spoken of is not the true/actual/real Tao" :D And then the rest of the book talks about the Tao. And we talk about it, with great passion and need! haha ahhh. Best truth-joke! I think I'll read Tao De Jing again.

Self trying to master the self is Duality. Letting the right hand knowing what the left hand is doing (or trying to play chess or checkers against yourself).
It's OK to try, though. After you become exasperated and give up, you might come to the total realization.

It would help him reach more people if he could learn the Tao of articulation and inspiration because as much as I love and agree with him, he doesn’t inspire me and he would never have even been able to reach the old skeptical me :/

It is odd, funny, Doaism, is something simple, this makes it hard to explain it without making it seem more complicated than it is. Reading the Tao the Ching is an eye opener, and in reading it, the philosophy, the meaning, transmits to you... it really is like a collection of easy to grasp observations(some maybe less easy), looking at how things and actions relate to each other. You could read a page a day, and get a lot from it for your life.. it's almost like one of those little books that has quotes on peace, just with all the quotes joined up and [art f the whole.
This wisdom (which is not just in Daoism) , ancient or otherwise, so often feels modern, maybe timeless would be a better term, and so often it resonates with you like something you already knew, but forgot. Well, I find that myself anyway.
I think this man does a good job, but maybe it is easier to get what he is saying, if you already have a bit of an understanding. If approached from a confrontational, anti religious, dogmatic perspective... what one gets from it, will be dictated by that, not what is actually being said. Of course, our own dogmatic thinking and perspectives, can do that with all we see in life.. to reference another philosophy "as you see the world, so it is".
My advice, read the book, tao te ching, it is an easy, enjoyable and very comforting read... I would say everyone who wants to, will get something from it. .. to say the least.

What do we do when we feel anger or even rage? I’ve always kept my childish mind through life, I feel it conflicts with American society. Americans push people to remove the childish mind and become adult. You lose the magic of life when you do this. I feel myself sometimes living a contradictory life where on one hand I’m always serene but on the other side I am overwhelmed by the American consumerism and feel the negative emotions of competition to have more. I don’t like it.
Do I just let the anger flow through? When I’m angry, it’s always fleeting, it’s others that tell me I should be angry. It’s not from me, but the energy of others and their belief that I should hold on to disappointment. What do we do when we feel the jealousy of others? It’s not that I personally want expensive things, big house, etc. it’s the pressure from the society I live in.
How can I disconnect from this toxic cycle?
