    Within the dying planet Hoxxes IV, an abundance of valuable rocks and stones demand to be mined.
    No one is better equipped to recover these minerals, than the irresponsibly managed employees of the Deep Rock Galactic Mining Corporation.
    This documentary will provide new employees with essential knowledge to better survive the planet's unique and hostile wildlife, completing mission objectives with their lives intact.
    In this episode, we reveal the many subspecies of Glyphids that dwarves may encounter when exploring the caves, providing field tested tactics to take each hostile creature down.

    to compile a list of additions/corrections into one comment:
    the abdomens of Glyphids are often used for cooling, which is why the Praetorians and Dreadnought have it unarmored/lightly armored
    speaking of Praetorians, the Oppressor is a grossly mutated Praetorian, and keeps the same open rear weapoint
    Bulk Detonators are simply Exploders that have survived without exploding to the point their carapace is much more sturdy, with the Crassus having one of (if not the top) the highest defenses
    along with that, killing an Exploder by damaging the face will prevent it from exploding entirely
    as someone else mentioned, the Radioactive Praetorian has a higher movement speed than normal
    Dreadnoughts as a whole are actually the result of an interrupted gestation process (which leads to theories about a Mother Glyphid that once existed, hence the line "Die like your mother did!")
    as others have said, the Brood Nexus isn't related to Glyphids, because we know the Glyphids start life as eggs, as far as Deep Rock can tell, they clone the DNA of other creatures (in this case, Glyphids) as a defense mechanism
    Web Spitters and Acid Spitters are close cousins, evolutionarily speaking
    other Glyphids will take cover behind Glyphid Guards because of how hardy they are (20-30% resistance, stat-wise)
    Glyphid Menaces are, explicitly, *not* closely related to Acid Spitters (I know you didn't say it, but it felt worth mentioning)
    Wardens use specifically "performance-enhancing pheromones and telepathic conditioning", which is.. certainly an interesting evolution
    if I missed anything (specifically about the Glyphids), feel free to add it!
    (I just want additions and corrections in one space, as mentioned before)

      I'm pretty sure Slashers and Guards are supposed to just be older grunts that have developed into a specialized role, rather than a separate variant.
      When they were added they replaced another Grunt variant that was called Veteran, iirc, which were basically older grunts that were slightly stronger and didnt look as noticeably different.

      With Dreadnought Twins, isn't it better to distribute the damage equally. As when they heal, the one with less health heals to the point of the other one.

    • @rydergolde3169
      @rydergolde3169 2 месяца назад +6

      @@biggyboom7358 that's right, actually
      there is a single scripted heal moment, the others trigger on there being a big enough difference in health
      the Twin with higher hp takes1/4 of the difference in damage while the weaker one heals 3/4 of the difference
      regardless of how much is healed, their armor completely regenerates as well

    • @jamdonut4444
      @jamdonut4444 2 месяца назад

      @@rydergolde3169I'm yet to confirm this but I have seen people be able to shred the armour off of the twins during the heal phase.

    Really well prododuced, but one glaring error when discussing the twins. You say, "its advised to focus on one twin at a time, as they are much weaker alone," but the twins' main gimmick is designed to trick gamer's instincts on this.
    If you choose to focus on one twin, the other can heal the endangered one, at a very slight cost to its own health. The fight goes on several times longer than it needs to if you focus on one twin at a time.
    Also, once one twin is dead, the other twin becomes stronger and more aggressive.

  • @jeremytng3154
    @jeremytng3154 2 месяца назад +16

    I suggest that the Twin to be delt equal damage or at least switched focus often to keep as similar HP levels. This stops them from healing due to the lack of health one has over the other. The larger the diffrence, the more the lower HP Twin is healed. With that more time and Ammo used to deal with them.

  • @Psyko_Monk3y
    @Psyko_Monk3y Месяц назад +6

    Brood Nexus are not a glyphids. They have glyphid in their name but that's only because they create Glyphid Spawn.
    "While we know for a fact that Glyphids hatch from eggs, these malodorous, organic protuberances nonetheless expel freshly birthed and ravenous Glyphid Swarmers. It's theorized that the Brood Nexus is a completely separate genus, somehow able to replicate the DNA of other species, and use their "designs" for its own protection."
    They are something other than a glyphid, they're a creature that basically replicates glyphid swarmers (assumably because they're the simplest to copy) and spits them out for defense.

    This is a great video and very well done. Great job. Hope you continue to grow with your unique way of game nature documentaries.
    Here is an idea. Is it possible you could make a video or an addon comparing glyphid sizes from smallest to largest and possibly comparing them to a dwarfs height? It will give a very interesting idea how large and formidable these creatures are. Also gives us an estimation how huge they could be in real life.
