Julius is fast on the uptake, asks good questions and we can see him connecting concepts. Yeah, he should do installs first but his real love is going to be service troubleshooting. In another 3 years he'll have his own YT channel.
@@HVACTechKnowledgy question say kf don't have license to be a hvac helpe?the ones riding with the you is he like hvac helper if so do i need a driving license for hvac helper job
I like how well you explain your process of serviceing the equipment, and why you do it. I have been an hvac tech for over 40 years now. Firmly believe that new employees all should do installs first before service, they gain a better understanding of the big picture and improve their skills along the way. You seem like a great guy to mentor the newbies, keep up the great work. Continued success in the future.
I did install for 6 months never needed to do it again run my own business strictly service and change outs only. Absolutely hate messing with ductwork. But shout out to the people that do installs super hard work
I feel like this is right up my alley. Wish i could get the courage to make the switch from my abusive job to hvac/r. Making more money isnt even a concern, i just want time for my family (weekends) and to work with respect and appreciation.
I’m coming from a completely different world to the trades, also doing hvac/r I feel exactly like this dude, just hungry to learn and work and have the right attitude
I'm currently enrolled in my local college's HVACR program and excited to learn. its fun looking ahead to what my internship may look like and hope to get a mentor like you. I'm excited to get into the industry and feel like I'm learning enough to almost be useful at this point. it seems like guys out in the field learn a little quicker than being stuck in a 25 guy lab with one instructor lol. love videos like this and I went and looked at what static pressure was as its not something we've covered yet. -cheers
Nice! Yeah it is definitely a fun career at times. You just have to love to learn new things and to challenge yourself. Wish you the best thanks for watching!
Really so your getting a refrigeration certification but same over here in Stockton I’m thinking of doing that because its less way less courses then hvac . want to become an installer later on how is it really hard ? lotsof math hope not
They threw me into a truck with a clipboard full of invoices . No training or instructions at all. 30 years later I am still alone by myself with no training.
You can get whatever information you want on utube. 30 years ago, we had nothing. Even service manuals were hard to come by. You had to pay for them. They were not cheap. Techs have it a lot easier now, but the equipment is also a lot more complicated.
I start my apprentice in January with Cardnial heating and cooling and man am I nervous been working over a year in food service and I just knew hvac among a few other trades had my interest. I guess I'm just worried I'm not gonna gather all of it right away and I don't wanna be that guy that's still struggling to catch it. The apprentice is 5 months long 5 days a week 8 hours. Any advice or things I should be doing to prepare myself?
Thanks! Like I always say the ball's in your court on how fast you want to move up in this field if you put in the hours in after work you can rapidly accelerate the process.
So I graduated hvac school but I've been really nervous to leave to work in hvac. Tbh I think feel like I'm not ready and starting to have second thoughts if I made the right choice.
Do HVAC positions test for THC? Hopefully this question isn't offensive. Curious to know what trade I can go into and still recreationally use. People can drink in all trades so I'm hoping the stigma with THC is softened.
just came across your youtube channel, i see you read every comment and thats really nice of u. U definitely make a fantastic teacher. hes lucky to have u. I would like to ask what kind of advice would u give to me im 19, and looking to start working in the trades but not sure how to get started. Looking into HVAC for sure, please and thank you. Love from canada!
Hey there! I appreciate the compliments I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Best thing I'd say to do is try to start with a small company cuz you're more likely to appreciate your clothes and they will advance you as you develop. Also always be studying focused heavy on electrical. Stay tuned I've got a video should be dropping this week covering this topic👍
im looking at a career change into HVAC, is it best to go to school first or how would i go about getting an internship with no prior experience to get that experience. I looked into jobs and they all want years of experience even for an apprenticeship.
I would try to start off at a smaller company to learn the ropes. Most small owner operators will hire you without experience as long as you show your willingness show up and your trying to learn.
I work in apartment maintenance and they paid for my epa test. Been here going on 3 years learning as I go on doing installs and servicing the older systems we have.
Ive just recently become some what interested in pursing this particular trade. Does one jump straight to apprenticeship, or do I have to go through a school first?
I'd go straight for the apprenticeship. School is a waste of time in my opinion. As a matter of fact just apply for an entry level position at a small company and get paid to learn.👍
I got a new return grille 20x20 and it's alittle smaller than my current old one and the filter is snug that I used to see how it fits, also I've searched for wider dimensions but none that goes to 23 on the outside, It's not in yet I need help on what to do
The Snug fit is actually good as long as you're not having to bend and distort the filter to get it in. What are the exact dimensions on the new filter grill?
@HVAC Tech Knowledgy yes it wasn't fitting but I noticed there was a bend one bottom corner blocking the filter from going all the way in ,and I if could show you you'd see why lol but the current one is older ,dirty after cleaning and has the turn opening latches ,one is broken
Okay cool I know how it is those things can get pretty grimy lol. Sounds like the frame is just been a little bit, if you can bend it back that would be the ticket or just try to take it back and get one that's square.
I usually recommend just getting job at a smaller outfit and working your way up from there. You can advance pretty quickly if you put in the work with smaller companies because they're going to place you where you're most valuable. So essentially whatever discipline you choose to excel at that's what they'll have you doing.
It’s solid! I love the Carolinas. I’ve lived in New York and Florida and I probably wouldn’t appreciate those climates very much. The temperature here swings aren’t too extreme winters aren’t too cold summers aren’t crazy hot. A lot of crawlspaces though. There’s also alot of population growth, so companies are always hiring.
