Do you got any ancestor who partaked into the D-day?
I have one who was a french resistant and sabotaged the railing systeme before the D-day. Let me know about your familly's story, i'd love to read them all 👀
Not really connected with D-day, but my great great great grandpa with his wife and 9 kids in the house hid 3 British paratroopers from Nazis and British government sended their thanks, but someone stole it from my family, till this day we don't know who stoled it
Not D-Day but my family had 3 resistance members fighting against the nazis in South-Eastern Poland.
After the war one of them recalled how after a few Germans caught them during a sabotage operation they lined them up against a wall and told them not to turn back. They all expected that they will get shot in a couple seconds but the bullets never came. After a few minutes one of them dared to turn around and told the rest that the Germans went away and to run.
My Great-Grandfather was from el salvador but moved to canada and became a soldier he landed on the beach Sword and survived to see the battle of the Rhine (then he got sent back because of a horrible injury) he was the one who began my family military history since today everyone in my family is in the army and im in the JROTC 😄 not a cool story but thats all i have

With American, British, and Canadian blood we water the seed of freedom for our French brothers and sisters on the Hell scape beaches that was Normandy. Those that fought and died on those beaches and fields did not listen to this type of music, but they do appreciate it I guarantee it.

i remembered about d day a bunch of times because COD WWII and sabaton, 1 year ago i played this game, and i think this game says that happened 6 of june of 1944, and i was hearing sabaton today and one music of the album art of war says "six of june of nineteen forty four" and i don't remember the other parts;
Through the gates of hell, as we make our way to heaven through the Nazi lines, Primo Victoria. Primo Victoria means first victory and survivors from Utah, and Omaha did describe those beaches as the gates of hell. Omaha was the worst.
@@blodsteelangelThere's a video on RUclips showing the Allied advance on a map through the course of D-Day, and you can see all of the other beach fronts advancing inland while Omaha was still stuck without being able to advance for most of the day. It's incredible how much more difficult that beach was than the rest of the landing areas. May the souls of those who gave their lives for freedom rest forever in peace.

Wouldn't Dunkirk make more sense with the French? Maybe Sicily or North Africa? There probably were some French exiles at D-Day, but they did most of their fighting in Africa and Italy

It is known that French tanks have more armor on the rear than the front. Because they run away from a fight. The last war the French won was the French revolution when they were fighting against themselves.

Nobody talks about the bravery of the Germans facing certain death. My ancestors were on that beach defending Europe from communism, globalism, gender ideology etc.. If the men storming the beach knew what they were fighting for they would have joined the Germans.
i think you should pay more attention in your History classes to understand the horrors commited during the WW2 on both sides and the lessons we should learn from past's mistakes. All radical thinking can only bring misery, no matter what side.
It was the N*zis solders who "defended" the beaches, not the Germans. I recommande you don't mix up Germans and N*zis. It ain't good to mix German citizens and soldiers/civils who's been brainwashed by a twisted ideolodgy.
