I like to use the phrase “It could have been worse “ in those situations. That really is a good looking aircraft.
Id take that Aztec over the 310. (Assuming for some reason I needed a twin)
One ofJimmy's best restoration
Longer videos please......... love it
look at the brightside now you can get some nice polished spinners for it
Crystal Blue Persuasion, that is a Sharp looking Aircraft. 👍🏼🛫
What a heartbreaker for a beautiful bird. 😢
Thankfully not the end of the world since it's a fiberglass spinner... Bet they could use the one good one on engine no.1 as a positive for a mould and make a new one if they can't find a replacement!
Aztecs are fine twins. Hang in there Jimmy.
Nothing beats the sound of a twin, well, except a radial lol.
Oh, MAN! I wish I knew that it was in Bessemer Alabama! I live under the pattern for that airport! Let me know if you need anything when you're here.
Beautiful! Day Here in Good Old Pennsylvania!!
Why only 10 minute videos ? We need more ! Love the show
Agreed
10 mins is the minimum length to get ad revenue
Jimmy has definitely been slacking if hes supposedly a RUclipsr...🤔
Someone using your channel ripped me off and no response from you. Good stuff
Yes more then just ten minutes please, but not necessarily an hour either,...he,he... LoL 😂
Have to say that fiberglas prop spinner looked sketchy at best. Not surprised it came apart. Glad that happened on the ground and not in the air. The engines sounded great. Good job!
Cheering for the Blue Tarp Special!!
Do we have to wait another week? Geezzzz! You know how to build suspense and bring our blood pressure to critical levels Jimmy.
Stay Positive!!
Jimmy is the man!
It's a funny thing that before I start my van I will shout out clear prop. That is testament to a superb channel. Keep up the good work Jimmy.
this woman I'm dating looked at bit weird when I yelled it while unzipping XD
Quite an opps. But of all things that break, this is an easy fix. This plane would look cool with shinny spinners.
So close, what a beautiful plane. I have faith that she will be in the air very soon.
Beautiful Aztec Jimmy!! You'll get er going I know it!! Cleeeeeaaaaaaar Prop!!!!
Good thing it happened on the ground ..and no one was hurt !!!
Good to see it take another step forward.
Great stuff. I thought that prop cover was looking a little sketch anyway. May have done that even with the missing screw in. Glad you were on the ground and didn't do any damage to anything - or anybody!
Really handsome plane, will get there.
I used to work at KEKE as an A&P at Bessemer Aviation back in 2000
Gremlins always get you
Hey Jimmy! Been away for a few months, (actually, I have just not bothered to click on any of your efforts) and wanted to just check in for a moment with ya to see how things are going in the world of ludicrous spending, pretending to be an awesome caring person and just rich-people life in general! Have you opened any other people's messages and felt you were too privileged to talk to them lately? Love your work! Keep up the good work and (fake)compassion for the less-fortunates! Cheers!
Great video thanks Jimmy and Jessy and grizzly
Wonderful blog regards from South Africa
Love the Aztruck. I worked on boats for a resort in the Bahamas and the pilot gave me plenty of flight time in one. We hauled everything from marine diesel crankshafts, to office supplies and diapers. It's now owned by KBOW, down the road from you..
Thank you for the video.
Beautiful paint scheme on the Aztec. You did good on getting her ready to fly. Looking forward to the update video.
‘Did good’, by failing?
@@johnnunn8688 failed. A part failed. Not Jimmy.
Hello from Minnesota! Great episode!
Love watching thanks
It is kinda apropos for Jimmy's World to have an airplane with a missing or loose screw. Sets you up for a whole new shirt design. 😁
Dang... Don't you just hate it when your giggling pin comes off the wabblie shaft...lolol 🤣 Getter done Jimmy 😁
Very much looking forward to the "Blue Tarp Special" back in the air!
Sucks that your spinner fell off but like you said better it happened on the ground then in the air. Hope it didn’t damage anything when it exploded can’t wait to see you fly this plane jimmy :)
Cheezus! But that glass fibre stuff could've been fatigued anyway, so as you said. Better on the ground than in the air!
Let's Hope So!! Good Luck!! Cool!!
The video was a great reminder of the reason we don’t stand abeam the engine of any aircraft that is powering up!
you is crazy to fly that thing.
Great !! Fantastic!!
Jimmy!! Some times you Have to Do What you Got To Do!! Cool!!!
Thank God above for letting that cone come uncorked during a run-up on the ground!!! I'm SO THANKFUL that nobody was injured when it let go!!!
It could have gone back and hit the plane...
@ralph5476 I don't disagree one bit, ralph. That thing could have held up and not come uncorked, blasting into the cabin, at FL150ish+ causing severe injuries AND explosive decompression! Now, as far as my personal sense of adventure is concerned, THAT would quickly lead up to a VERY interesting day! 🫣😵💫😳🤯
Better to be safe than sorry
It’s a beauty
Safety first. Is a good thing. Thank god it happened on the ground. Good luck with getting it sorted.
Dang. Oh so close. But like you said, better on the ground then up up and away.
You know, watching this and watching you go thru all these seemingly silly safety checks, now you know why boys and girls!
And I just bought your What Could Possibly Go Wrong shirt. Well. .. now we know. Glad your ok to fly another day. Be cool brother
Yikes! Thankfully this is why we do these tests, and you DID the test! Wow. Time to count every screw and be 100% x 100% sure to quadruple quintuple check every single torque of every single fastener on that baby. Wow. I'm sure it's fine, that little fiberglass cap is probably only $4,000
I hadda boat with twin fourty Johnsons.... I'd get up on plane and the sound of those engines reminded of sky king 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recommend a bag of skiddles with a mountain dew.
So glad you guys were grounded Jimmy. Phew
YOU the man Jimmy......thanks for another awesome video
Fun tp watch. Keep it up
Doing 1 myself..including stuck cable's 😮
I always enjoy your videos Jimmy. You have a fun world to be able to work and fly planes. You be safe and above all have fun :)
Don't you have a whole other Aztec for parts? You know, as long as it's close I'm sure it'll will be fine.😂😂😂 Love the videos Jimmy, keep it up! You're doing a great job!
That’s was a close call, and a dang good reason for ground runs.
Fibreglass spinners! NOOO🤦 Aluminium please
Sir...you are NOT allowed to park you F.O.D in that spot 😂
Bugger! You are so close!
Wow, everything was going so good but like you said at least it happened on the ground and now you and your boys can thoroughly check everything once again so question who’s flying back you flew the Silver bullet grizzlies driving the RV who are you going to get to Ferry it? And is this a plane you’re going to sell or add to your collection?
Keep your head down.
One of our US Army LACV-30 Hovercraft lost it’s propellers when it was at 48” over water ( 4’ ) no one was injured but they did have army divers go down to retrieve it. That was an eye 👁️ opener 😅
I mess with old cars. Much respect for messing with these old airplanes! I’ma just watch you do it though 😂
I’m glad that the spinner broke there than up in the air. 😊
Bad luck Jimmy but you followed the right procedures and they produced a safe outcome and what looks like an easy fix.
So very close, yet so so far away! You’ll get there Jimmy.
Wow Jimmy your a lucky man this happened on the ground
Love that plane it’s a keeper
It'll be alright
❤ 1 screw to screw up the whole thing. Lol. Check you're screws so you want screw up. ❤
Your VLOGS are awesome ! Love watching them 😃 And what should I say ? You've got fans ins GERMANY 😁 Hi from over the sea ! 😎
😂😅 teasers, should have known , love ya bro
Keep this up Jimmy you will make headlines like ocean gate titan submersible and we don’t want that.
Aah bloggers that's the way the cone bounces 😮
I will be sad if this plane doesn't fly again... it looks so good
Almost there and your hard work will soon pay off! Just curious how just one screw missing could cause a spinner to blow apart. You'd think it would only require half or less of the screws to stay structurally sound and the rest would just be a safety buffer.
I think the fibreglass failed. It wasn't the missing screw. There would be equal centrifugal forces around the perimeter, which should keep it on, even with one screw missing. Which probably means that he should change both spinners.
This is why you have to follow ALL procedures ...
OK, the Aztec is probably my favorite light twin. I think one of the dumbest things Piper did was quit producing the Aztec. So all we have left are used that are at least 42 years old. I sure am hoping that on this one when you get it ferried, that you'll do a very detailed inspection of the wing structure. Especially the wing to fuselage attach fittings. You showed us that you had rain get into the tanks, so if it were me, I'd do a wing pull and NDT all the weight bearing structure. I would NDT the attach bolts as well. I do know the Aztec had an AD come out {in the 90's I believe} about the adoption of a zero fuel limit to avoid too much stress on the wing attach fittings. Of course in the case of the Seneca, the Seneca has always had zero fuel limits. But that's my big concern is wing structure and of course empennage attach structure as well. What I WISH would happen, is somebody buy the Aztec rights {or reverse engineer the thing} and start producing new Aztecs. They could call it something different. The perfect Aztec in my opinion would be to upgrade to 260 HP {normally aspirated} Lycoming's {the same engine used on the Panthera}, widen the aircraft {or lengthen} enough for a 7th seat, and have a rear entry door like a Seneca. Keep the same "Hershey bar" wing, and the same steel tube structure. Possibly go with a counter rotating prop on the right engine to get rid of a "critical" engine. Have it equipped with high lift vortex generators to decrease stall speed and blue line and shorten the takeoff roll. Of course we still want 174 knots @ 75% power and a single engine service ceiling of 9000 feet. {according to "Fastback Flying" - he told me a normally aspirated Aztec can maintain 8500 feet on one engine with 250 HP per side} But that would be so incredible if somehow the Aztec could make a comeback - a new and improved version. but for now, we just got to keep what we have left flying. So thanks for doing what you do !!
It’ll be fine👍🏻 famous last words haha…
Wow that was shrapnel!😧
I thought... wow they went full Airplane with the audio. Lol jet firing up same time as the prop 😂
I just realized that jimmys world and cars n cameras both say “it’ll be fine” all the time
Minor set back. I see another screw missing on the cowl in the last part. It is a beautiful plane.
You almost had the Piper Aztec plane running great, except for the Blade cover... glad that it happen on the ground. what coulds happen...
A-A-Ah, Jimmy, it'll buff out. All ya gotta do is put the pieces of the spinner back in place an put a couple pieces of fiberglass tape on it and a little resin and yer' good to go. (And if you believe that, I don't wanna be any where near you when you fire it up). God Bless and stay safe.😂🤩🤮💯🙏🤞💥💩
It’ll be fine, you’ll get that sorted out quickly enough…..on a side note what happened to the aircraft that you got on Facebook marketplace? Did you sell them, did you get the one for free? Didn’t tie that up in a final video so not sure what happened?
hopefully and update coming on those soon. Got something in the works.
Congratulations! You have created an excellent video about planes. It is clear that this is an area where you excel. Well done!
06:08 Dapper Grizzly!
If those fiberglass spinners were sitting out for 7 years, they probably would have needed to be replaced anyway. And besides, I thought you had a bigger screw loose when you bought the Elvis plane. Even free would not have been a bargain for that.
such a beautiful plane. Fiberglass spinner?
I been enjoying having , forgive me if i am wrong, Jessie the mechanic guy in the episodes he is a cool dude and you two are a great team. Also whats the update on your sons flying and the flying canary ( Yellow plane)
amazing what one loose screw can do.
What a pretty airplane.
What a pretty airplane.
Take the other prop spinner off. It will fly without prop spinners. They are not a required item for flight.
Oh, dear! Just bad luck. But I am glad it happened on the ground, and not in the air!
Somebody in Southern Maryland is moving some planes.. saw my second pickup truck haul yesterday
Jimmy you would be wrong on the number one thing that would Cause a plane to crash!
THE NUMBER ONE THING IS "Gravity"!!!!!!!!
Lol!
Thanks for a Great video and until next time.
Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!🌋🍹🥂
