DCT is a manual. Just not in the traditional sense.

Love seeing more cars with the dct, I'm currently building a couple of cars using them and even having my r33 n r34 gtr converted to dct so I can drive them with been wheelchair bound
dct is so much fun and a bit more accessible then sequential, especially when buying used trans. love my dct f80! though i have gone through one already, on stock power lol

Great find by your tuner with the throttle closure problem. I love that they looked into the "why" and not just "cleared out that feature " and sent it. ❤
Both the DCT and the 8HP can be upgraded to handle like 1000 lb/ft of torque. You're probably right though that the snappier behavior of the DCT is better suited to drifting, especially when downshifting. I'm excited about how both of these transmissions are starting to be used in road racing and time attack. They are a bit heavier than sequential transmissions, but way, way cheaper and won't need expensive servicing/rebuilds all the time like dogbox sequentials.
Well to be honest with 8HP clutch by wire is more mushy than DCT. I always got requests to make it harder. With DCT you don't have such issue at all
This is very fascinating. So intelligent and talented to be able to develop this software controller from scratch with no OEM support.

you guys should sell a ready-to-run DCT kit with the ECU and simple instructions! I'd imagine MANY people with everything from Supra's to the new M2, etc would love a proper DCT option!

He did it because gcu doesnt work with zf8hp, it works more or less with dct so thats why he did it. It literally kills zf8hps. Poland hate this company so they sell this shit outside now

Duuuuude.....these guys really did their research on this DCT auto pressures. I am way impressed. I was shocked in my tune the 10 speed was set up off the TPS to shift the transmission firm or hard based on throttle pressure. I thought this was trick. So for regular driving (under 1-25% throttle) it shifts like stock, at 30% throttle shifts are somewhat hard, at 60% they start to bang and full throttle it's violent. All based on pedal pressure.
Bartek is the GOAT. I’ve got a twin turbo LS swapped brz with an 8hp70 and their GCU. Helped Bartek develop the Holley presets. Awesome company, awesome product

you need to hit up a guy named norbefilms. he has a BMW F30 pro level driftcar with all F80 guts inside including a DCT transmission with ecu controller from poland, fake clutch, hydro E-brake etc.. he broken and fixed it many times and can tell you more about this setup

Very cool video, subtitles might have helped at times. It’s wild what they have developed. Tuners aren’t going to die away with EV’s, they’ll just program everything.
People called me crazy for naming my 135i the “poor man’s Supra” since it’s factory single turbo AND DCT, can’t wait to order my hybrid turbo so I can install it. 💯

the bmw zf torque converter wont be matched in speed performance, they are literally compared to pdk's by huge tuners and car bloggers, however owning a zf8 bmw i can probably tell how awkward it must feel shifting with high angles lol
hopefully they can get it to work as good as the turbolamik controller
if they knew what they were doing they would never have bothered with the 50....... keen to see how long the DCT lasts with a decent driver like adam
If a person knows how to slip a torque converter and you time it right you don't all that. Pump the throttle by flooring it for a split second let the torque converter unlock then floor it again it works well I tried that method and and wooped a lot of higher horsepower manual transmission cars.
My 8hp70 has seen 70k hard miles and the last 10k on a 4k stall in a 4800lb truck. It's a big cam 5.7 HEMI but I have no idea of power numbers since I've never been on a dyno but she's been damn reliable. That DCT also seems dope though!

(sike) i destroyed two fully built 8hp75, about 25k in transmissions becuase htg sucks and they said it had open loop tuning when it didnt. bartek sent a tune for gcu, loaded it and destroyed two transmissions, the first one they said it was because of hardware error in the trans, the second trans same thing, deleted the gearbox at 700hp. kind of impressive becuase he broke a pure drivetrain solutions stage 3 8hp75 wich is rated for 1600ft lbs ...when i got a refund, it took a whole year, and instead of money they sent me a set of paddle shifters and i was out 1400 dollars on the gcu and almost 30k in billet 8hp parts. LOL. i sure hope they fixed their software and customer service, a lot of us got burned because they used customers as beta testers.... on the up side, i switched to turbo lamik tcu, and now im deep in the 8s with 20k miles on the car at 1000hp and no issues. couldnt even get the htg to move without breaking parts. - a true story of why my race car sat for two years. i really hope they have fixed their stuff and arent just still cherry picking wich customers they want to spend the time to actually tune. and show working products.

Should have gone TurboLamik, HTG are known for not controlling the 8hp the best.
Zero to 60 are doing heaps of work with the TurboLamik, including using a 8hp with a TurboLamik in drifting
If your Brain works then u would’ve clearly see that this is dct and htg gcu shift way faster and support newer model 8hp

My guess would be HTG being far more comfortable with their DCT products would much rather appear to be winning with a DCT rather than not with the 8HP 😉
LZ has a big following so they’re going to want to appear as good as they can
Because htg doesnt work for zf8hp, for dct it works more or less. They are literally the most hated car related company in Poland. Because their gcu works like shit destroys zf8hps and their quality of customer work is super shit. Search for example su2 performance htg gcu :))))
