Just when you thought zombie movies were tired and creatively bankrupt, this one hits you hard in the feels and reminds you that sometimes you'll get a gem like this. Very few movies (whatever the genre) has managed to make me cry this badly and this was made possible only because of the father's growth as a character and the child being an absolute sweetheart (what an actress!).
True. It's not even that they reinvented the wheel with this one. All of the elements are pretty much well known and seen before (and that even helps to quickly establish the scenario without tones of explanation). It's purely the perfect cinematic execution to tell this pretty straight forward story. Camera, FX, sounddesign, the pacing during cutting/editing, it's all perfectly on point. And on top you have these fabulous actors (playing well written characters), who let us bond so much with the protagonists.

7:46 The "magic system" in this flick is quite well done. Part of the success of the plot. Zombies are brutal, relentless and fast, but dumb, and provoked by basic stimuli, like noise and light. Easily fooled, hard to shake off...
Wonderfully emotional commentary. Terrific presence and insight, as always. You're always a pleasure to spend movie-time with. (Splendid film, btw. Powerfully moving and fabulously edited.)
This is one of my favorite zombie movies. When it first came out on Netflix I watched it twice then watched it a third time with my cousin. Zombie movies have become very repetitive but this movie was so different also the actress that played Su-an did amazing.
What I noticed is that depending on where the zombie bit, the transformation depends. like if they but one of the major blood vessels around the neck or face which the virus seemed to aim, they transform significantly faster than those bit on the hand (but again, the general speed also depends on the person's immune system too). Plus the usage of the girl's formal language to an informal nearing the end shows the growth of their relationship
This was absolutely worth the wait! Excellent movie and reaction, of course! I had totally forgotten, that most countries don't dub the dialogs of movies which is done here in Germany most of the time. When I saw you were watching this, I immediately felt bad for you… this one is sort of on another level from a lot of the stuff you had seen already… as I’m sure you are realizing there is a darker more messed up level to horror movies that most casual viewers don’t dip their toes into (although train to busan got weirdly popular for what it was imo)… the kind of horror movies that are both viscerally frightening and truly heart-breaking or tragic… you are beginning to cross into those dark waters… good luck! We are with you!
When "Parasite" was in the theaters, RUclips reommended "Train to Busan." I'd seen South Korean movies, so I thought I was ready. I HATE Zombie movies, but I was hooked when The Deer got back up. This emotional roller coaster movie left me drained. Kudos to the writer(s), director(s), actors, and especially the stunt performers for creating a Modern Classic.

WOW Kat, that was awesome, your best reaction yet, your energy and emotions were off the charts, I just know you were exhausted at the end. I bet you never thought a zombie flick would break your heart and make you cry like this did. I can go on and on, with that big, beautiful heart of yours, and all those times struggling not to cry, but when you sat back and those arms crossed I knew it was a losing battle and the tears flowed anyway, those were such endearing and beautiful moments, so tender and heart-wrenching to watch. Also, that was one hell of a powerful and passionate F##k YOU directed towards the asshole we all hated. I actually watched it over again, and had to come back and edit my commen,t cuz that was an intense, powerful, passionate, funny, and emotional, but also so wonderful and entertaining reaction to see, kudos to you, lovely Kat. There is a pretty fantastic, but little known South Korean Monster Movie called The Host 2006. It's pretty fantastic and tonally is similar to Train to Busan. Bring tissues if you watch it.
the passion in which you watch these movies is perfect because you voice all of my frustrations/innner emotions perfectly
I don't know how I missed this when you first posted this, but it's a great zombie film and watching you react and have an a genuine emotional experience was worth the wait.
It's good to know that I wasn't the only one that this movie destroyed... It's a beautiful movie but I hated every moment those assholes were on screen and I was bawling by the end... Loved your reaction btw.
Omg so worth the wait, totally not crying along with you 😅
Honestly, just found your channel and I think you’re my fav watching scary movie reaction shows! And of course, love a fellow Canadian! 🇨🇦 ❤
The best Kat reaction video yet. Watching her react and get emotion made me emotional. Train to Busan is one of the best Zombie movies ever made.
At 9:38 time stamp when you said "nothing better happen to those women" I had to take a shot of single malt to dull the pain you were going to feel.
Love this movie so much, and I definitely appreciate the zombie actors so much, the way they contort and throw themselves around, definitely adds so much.
넘 재밌게 보고 갑니다
After watching the movie Train to Busan, I immediately subscribed.
Thank you for the k-drama Goblin's reaction. I've seen many reactions,
but you are the best of reactions
Plus the usage of the girl's formal language to an informal nearing the end shows the growth of their relationship
to me it seems like it functions kinda the same way rabies does but like, wayyyy faster so itd kinda explain time differences in the infection rate
It was so much fun watching this with you!
You’re amazing😊
Ty
oh dear - poor ol' Kat - I don't think I've ever seen you cry like this - or at all! this must be one hell-lova-movie -I'll have to check it out
This was absolutely worth the wait! Excellent movie and reaction, of course!
I had totally forgotten, that most countries don't dub the dialogs of movies which is done here in Germany most of the time. It was unusual for me to watch and read at the same time, but it wasn't a problem at all.
This Kat-(Wednes-)Day on a Saturday has made my weekend! Enjoy your walk and see you again (hopefully) on the real Kat-Day!
You are now by far my favourite film reaction channel. It’s an absolute pleasure watching movies I love with you! ❤
your reaction to these horror movies are such a joy to watch! they truly make my day especially when, you clinch your fists and swing your little arms. I'm glad to see you really getting involved in these kind of movies. Thank you for making my day and, keep these kind of reactions coming, just can't get enough of the comedy ( you being frightened ) lol, hope you have a great day! :) I will say this, it can be an emotional rollercoaster of a movie and that 1 guy you spoke of, I think many people did'nt like him.
This movie did in two hours what The Walking Dead failed to do in 11 seasons:
Made me give a damn.
I'd rescue you, Kat! ❤
If you liked it, check out Peninsula, which is a stand-alone movie in the same Universe.
Great reactions! 😂
I found your channel by happenstance and I looked through your stuff to find this particular movie. I saw it forever ago and while watching your video, I burst into tears all over again. This movie, even seeing certain scenes triggers a visceral, tearful reaction. Holy crap.
I LOVED this movie! The ending still gets me despite seeing it 100 times (I watch a lot of reactions to Train to Busan.)
This is a hidden gem but try The Watcher in the Woods. Believe it or not, its a 1980 Disney horror movie!
I had completely missed that you saw this. I love this movie, mostly because of the actor Gong Yoo who is the main character is in it. But it's a fantastic zombie movie 🙌🏻
Yay 🎉🎉🎉🎉. You defeated Studiocanal and were able to upload your reaction after all. Kat for the win!!!!!!!
Loved the review. So fun!! 🤩
6:29 He became quite an action movie star in South Korea after this one. His flicks are quite fun.
I just want to say again how much I love Kat's reactions.
You finally got past those pesky censors, congratulations!! Another great reaction from my favorite reactor.
One of my top tier horror reaction channels ❤ an all time fav for zombie movies also
The child actress is VERY good and well worth checking out in some other stuff she's done - A Little Princess (nothing like what the title suggests) is one of my favs
All the zombie actors are amazing, they really sold it to me when I was so tired of zombie films. Great movie I’ll never sit and watch again on my own cause I simply don’t need to relive the trauma lol
Hi Kat, greetings from Ireland. Let me just say I love your channel. I actually just watched Train to Busan today and loved it. So great to see how much you enjoyed. Loved your reaction to The Exorcist also. I recommend An American Werewolf in London. A personal favourite. Keep up the great reactions.
35:34 I'm thinking of making this my new ringtone. 🤣
This is one of my favourite films, and this is one of my favourite reactions videos. Only discovered your channel recently, subscribed and working my way through your content. Keep up the good work.
One of my favorite zombie movies ever. Glad Kat survived this. Never seen her so emotional. Love your reactions, Kat. 🙂
Do you know that the son in Parasite is the same guy with the one in baseball uniform?
@@gatkimchi I haven't seen "Parasite."
@@Otokichi786 oh you absolutely have to watch Parasite. Fantastic film🤌✨
Kat I hope this is not just 1$ for every hour you had to edit ! We saw you cry so PLEASE consider doing Dan O’Bannon’s “ Return Of The Living Dead “(1985) so we can see you laugh … LOTS of scary FUN there before heading into “Dawn Of The Dead” (1978) ! Both these films are SEPARATE sequels to NOTLD . ( I would STOP after “Day Of The Dead” (1985)✋LOL ! )Congrats on the 13 K subs !!! I figured maybe the thumbnail was a prank being April Fools Day & you had reacted to another movie completely . 😂🤣😂🎥🎞❤️👍👍👍
FARMER STEVE!!!! AAAAHHH YAAAAA!!!! I just let out a tiny scream, HAHA thank you SO MUCH!!!!!! WAAAAWAW!!! (normally spelled like wowow but pronounced like WAWAW!!!!) I am completely blown away. Thank you. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I really loved d this movie a lot, and could DEFINITELY DO with some lighter funnier ones to follow??! DO I NEED TO WATCH DAWN BEFORE RETURN?? I thought it was the other way around!! Night, dawn, day, return?? HAHAHA I SHOULD HAVE APRIL FOOLSED THE THUMBNAIL!!!! Aahhh. Next year…?😂 YOU RULE!!! Thank you again. For being here, AS ALWAYS, and for this incredibly generous super thanks!!!!!! Kat:D
No Kat …. You would NOT need to wait and show the original “Dawn Of The Dead “(1978) and “Day Of The Dead” (1985) . That is Romero’s trilogy . 👍🎥🧟♂️🧟🧟♀️🎞❤️✌️
First time watcher here and I'm only 7 minutes in and you already have me dying lmaooo. You watch scary movies just like me haha. Love itttt. 🤣
omg. I have been afraid to watch this film even though it has gotten rave reviews. I don't think I could handle the emotions! Thanks for allowing me to experience the movie with you Kat! 😭
The zombie genre is the only genre left that can truly frighten me and TTB was a wild one to get through. Glad you were able to get this up, Kat! 😎
Hahah. Believe me when I say that EVERYBODY hated that business dude! But yeah, this is easily one the best horror films within the past 10 years, so it's great that you finally got to experience it in all it's emotional rollercoaster glory like the rest of us! 😊
And one of the things that I've come to learn after watching-and becoming a fan of-Korean films is that they really know how to emotionally wreck you, so fair warning with some of their films!
Good gravy, I have a lot of catching up to do on your channel!
Ahh..slept in, worked out, swam, just plopped down in a coffee shop and now I get to watch Kat. Best Saturday ever.
You must be a fellow RUSH fan 🇨🇦
@@jackinthebox995 you know it!
@@leepeartlifeson3311 👍 RUSH RULES
Hi this was my very first video I've seen on your RUclips Channel so hi it's nice to meet you.
😊👋
"This movie is wild so far! I love it!", Kat said as she looked on with crazy eyes.
Kat is the best, glad you like this movie... Funny thing is even though it is a Korean film subtitled I always felt I knew what was happening
You’re literally going through the emotional rollercoaster we all went through during this movie. Imagine being in the movie theater for it. It was rough lol\
This is the first time I saw you saw angry! Hahaha, I felt the same way when I first saw this movie. You're awesome Kate, keep the reactions coming. 😄 👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾
4:44 your mouth says “we don’t love this”. But the relish on your face… 😂😂😂 love it.
Your reaction to this epic Zombie film really is awesome! I still get scared and I cry at the same time. "Train to Busan" is more than just a zombie movie, it's a father/daughter story woven into a horror film.
Your reaction was totally on par with mine, loved this movie so much and it was amazingly shot
WOW Kat, that was awesome, your best reaction yet, your energy and emotions were off the charts, I just know you were exhausted at the end. I bet you never thought a zombie flick would break your heart and make you cry like this did. There were so many moments that I rewound and had to watch again, 12:38, "Oh damn it, no,no,no,no YES," 22:52, "cut it off, cut it off, cut it off, cut it off, it's just an arm," 33:35, no,no,no,no,no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,". You blew me away with this one Kat, WOW, you were amazing and stunning, I admire the woman that you are, so beautiful, inside and out.
17:24 I think his action flicks are called "Brute Force"... quite fitting.
New subscriber! I love your reactions. Please let us know if you ever decide to do more than horror movies. I’d love to see how you enjoy other genres.
Whats this??!! Its a Wednesday on a Saturday lol. Not sure how i feel about humo day on a saturday but i dont care as long as i get to see your reactions darlin lol. Awesome reaction as always darlin. Loved this movie so very much.
"Oh, its fine"...."Totally fine".... "Oh...a Zombie Deer".... Made my Day and Thank you for this reaction, which hit me so unexpectedly that I could hardly stop laughing. Greetings from Germany
Hi Kat. Another great reaction. I didn’t know anything about this movie. After watching your reaction I want to watch the whole movie, even if it’s heartbreaking. The acting and story is excellent.
