To be fair, he had that little revelation after that "divine intervention" back at Brett's apartment. He was supposed to be dead at the hands of Brett's friend. But some higher being somehow moved those bullets. From there, Jules decided to retire. Homeless and jobless, but alive (and probably saved).
I love how Jules calmly defuses the situation and prevents anyone from being killed. Yeah some people lost their wallets and the diner lost some of its earnings and some people may have some trauma from what happened. But at least they didn’t die.
I can't imagine what would happen if vincent was in his place, in this situation! 😂😂😂. He'll shoot them like rabbits, and after that he'll shoot even few customers by accident xD.
Jackson's 2 best movie scenes of his career. His recital of Ezekiel is dramatic, powerful and flawless. No one else could have pulled it off except Samuel L. A real actor !
Finding this amidst the sea of awfully chopped up and frankensteined together youtube short film clips that bastardize the original scene is like finding gold in a trash heap. It captures the essence of the scene beautifully. It recaptures the feelings it evoked perfectly. It's the best thing a fan edit of a movie scene could be. I'm glad to have seen it.
I must've seen these scenes 50 times already but the way you edited them together and added the music is just so brilliant and so different. You created an entirely new and refreshing way to see it. I've watched this video a bunch of times over the past few days. Thanks for making this, you're a great talent.
Thank you so much! Storytelling is very important to me and seeing all of these comments (yours included) where people praise this little idea for a video I had really makes me trust more in my passion!
That was awesome! Really ties to the scene way back where Vincent was shot. Jules found a way out, Vincent did not. He eve said in the car that he would quit.
This edit oozes straight art / poetry it gave me chills and truly embodies Jules mental force fighting his weapon and hand , this is a meaning in a situation that means nothing that only god can give… a second chance to be better then the day before .
the fact that some of the bullets are *DIRECTLY* behind jules (but notice that none are behind vincint) is evidence pointing to divine intervention. based on where the shooter was, those bullets would have HAD to have gone through jules to hit the wall in that spot, just due to mundane physics. i always thought something was clearly up with that and it was 100% deliberate to place the bullet holes there right behind jules to show the audience that something was indeed strange
It wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. People like the gangsta's, the drama and the violence but maybe like Kung-fu who roamed the land doing righteous deeds with violence if necessary, against the bad guys maybe would've worked. I think that's how Jules thought of it.
@@brianwalsh1401 it would've been interesting because it would've been jules wandering the world getting into different adventures. Helping people and maybe he gets pulled back in for a time and he had to reconcile his new path with his old one. Like "A history of violence".
I’m absolutely amazed of the emotional power you’ve created here through this edit and the inclusion of orchestral tones. Bravo, you have a subscriber:)
This scene is excellent, as it reveals a deeper significance - just because an action has no immediate consequences doesn't mean it will have no consequences in the future. It may go unpunished initially, but repeated actions will result in appropriate consequences.
I was always confused about jules’ speech at the end of the movie but this video just explained it perfectly to me since it was comparing the apartment scene and his ending speech. Thank you for making this.
This is my favorite movie of all time. And watching this scene with flashbacks and the music is fucking fantastic. Wow. You should do more scenes like this. It’s a talent. Don’t stop. Please continue. I’m subscribing bc I want to see more.
Great connection. Jules acknowledges the miracle and gets out of the game while Vincent does not and is killed by Butch while Vincent is reading the same book in Butch's bathroom that he was reading in the restaurant bathroom.
Literally Jules at this point in my life. "You happened to pull this shit while I'm in a transitional period"... Seriously. Choosing peace is so hard. Cause all these demons out here pushing
What would be epic is to show a film about where Jules Winfield went after all this, Vincent asked him so what are you going to do, Jules says he would go from place to place, and help people.. you know like Kane in kung fu?( Kill Bill) a black man from Inglewood Los Angeles Former gangster, turned vigilante, cowboy laying down his own brand of Justice, (Django), perhaps the villains could be Tarantino gangster types that we are very familiar with already (reservoir dogs) (pulp fiction) (true romance) yeah ... That would be cool.
Did someone noticed there are bulletholes in the wall BEHIND Jules's body? Was a miracle. :) I saw this movie so many times but didnt realize till now.
One of the best modern retellings of the story of two brothers. Dostoevsky would be proud.

Literature major?
Brother's Karamazov was the hardest book I ever read!!
Will you elaborate?
Oh wow, didn’t even realize that but you’re 100.
Jules woke up and chose peace
Vincent, on the other hand, ignored this gift and chose death just days later
Bro how did you write this 27 years ago?🤨

It helps that Ezekiel got some of the hardest hitting verses.
Christopher walken could
Except that the verses he recites are made up. Although, part of it is slightly similar to Ezekiel 25:17, but just slightly.

Excellent edit and retelling with a really decent added soundtrack. Well done!🎉
Jules had tears in his eyes.

No, it’s a horrible edit. Tarantino understands how to make a scene waaaaay better than some random youtube idiot.

One of the best scenes 💯💪🙏💙

The best scene in the entire movie . Really shows the amount of character development Jules had.
