in love with the fact that even though all three of them have left the show they still come back and do panels with each other. really feel like it shows how much they enjoy meeting the fans and how much they enjoyed the show. i really hope that one day (if i become an actress and can live my dream) i work on a show that i love so much i still go back and do panels with them.
When Matt said My greatest regret was not having more scenes with Jenna Coleman I was just thinking I couldn't agree more! I wanted to see where it would go seeing as she was his girlfriend and when Peter came they could obviously never have the same relationship. Clara and Matt Smith being the doctor just seemed perfect for each other and Peter ended up being obsessed with keeping Clara safe which showed how much he regretted as the character of the Doctor not spending more time with Clara. It was just too soon.
And here I go ruining it for everyone... Queen Victoria is Great Great Grandmother to BOTH Queen Elizabeth the second AND Prince Philip... Meaning Jenna played Matt's Great Great Grandmother, and his Great Great Grandmother in-law. At the same time... That's Royal Families for you...
4:00 you noticed that Alex helped Jenna taking the mic off this thing just like a mom would do for her daughter? So sweet! ❤😂

I don't understand why there aren't official recordings of this. This way people sitting in the middle of the audience have to record it with shaking camera and more audio from the audience than from the people who should be captured.
Love seeing Matt, Jenna and Alex on a panel together. 3 of my favorite characters of Doctor Who. I'd really love to see a spin off series with Jenna (Clara), Maisie (Me) and Alex (River) traveling through time/space having adventures together
Alex is just a phenomenal panelist. I would hands down take a literary crit. class from her and listen to her lecture for a few hours a week. Off topic, I'm sure she's had a long career of breaking hearts 💔💔
I'm glad Matt talked about the scene with Tom Baker. I am so, so fond of the exchange between them. One of many moments in Dr. Who that melts the heart.
It was perfect. Actually bigger on the inside and not a small, tiny room that was just a tiny bit larger than the exterior. The perfect mix of coral and life and the metal of the machine. The warm colour tones and the complexity in the set. Not a simple spherical room, but large open room you can run around in and lots of complex shapes. The console with its earth like parts but the alien like shapes of the time rotor. The wall screen, the glass floor, the levels you can place the characters on. I could go on...
Matt is my Dr who. I never saw it growing up. The Eleventh Hour was the first episode I saw and I was hooked. Before the season was even over I went back to the first episode with Christopher Eccelson and watched every episode. Haven't missed an episode since.
SO TECHNICALLY WE CAN GET IT ON OMG IM CRYING THE SOUFEZZ FEELS ARE PARAMOUNT. also Matt himself has confirmed souffez was real by calling Clara his girlfriend. I'm done.
At the start of the video when he says something like 'how can I choose between my wife and my girlfriend.' Obviously referring to jenna as his girlfriend and Alex as his wife so now Souffez is now a canon ship
1) thank you so much for posting this❤ 2) the first "episode" i ever watched was a snippet of Rose in 2008 when it first aired on Germany. my mum didn't let me watch it entirely. i only remember the Doctor talking to someone in front of the Tardis (or something similar like that)
I feel us Australian Whovians are really forgotten. My grandparents watched doctor who, I grew up with it, but it's always England, which is understandable, and America.
WHY was there that abrupt edit at the 16:23 mark? I was hanging on every word, and Matt says "I know why you didn't get the part, there was this gir" and cut. Wow, bummer!
i agree with alex about the differences between american and uk television. i am not from the uk so i won't know but even then, the things i grew up with made me think. i was brought up by PBS a lot and the shows educated me on problem solving, math, all of those things. in terms of pop culture like disney channel, they had moral lessons about not smoking nor drinking, etc. obviously they were never as sentimental as doctor who (even though i think doctor who is more for 11-15 year olds now). but comparing my tv shows with the tv shows of the kids now is scary! they are so different and the tv shows for kids now are much more about consumerism than anything else which is extremely sad. i even see little kids watching my shows because nothing else is good anymore.
It meant so much to me when she said that because it is something I say all the time and everyone just looks at me like I'm crazy. The shows that are on now for kids really aren't good at all. Even Sesame Street which was beloved in my house as a child has, for budgeting reasons, gone downhill trying to keep up with the flashy colorful junk that is being made for kids.
***** my friends and I speak about it a lot and i think the people i'm surrounded by in social media and at school has noticed it as well. I was brought up with the semi old school sesame street when VHS existed. I actually still have all my VHS, including some sesame street episodes. i haven't seen the recent ones but last year i had childhood education for a class so i took care of kids since it was a preschool/daycare. they were watching the episode i watched when i was a little kid and it brought back so many memories because i used to watch it on tv at home. but they were watching it online. so that really comes to show that technology has changed so much for kid content and how there isn't a variety of it anymore like how it used to be when i was growing up
I still have some of my Sesame Street VHS tapes too! I have worked with kids for most of my adult life. I worked at daycares, pre-schools, and elementary schools and I see how kids' behavior has changed due to what they watch and there is also a true lack in education. I have seen six year olds who don't know their colors or shapes and ten year olds who can't add 2+2. Of course it isn't entirely because of television or media but I do wish there were more educational programs on. I would especially like a news program for children. I feel like the only news kids hear are pop culture new and it would be nice if there was a way kids could be informed about current events.
***** i only worked with early education for highschool since my highschool has a small preschool/daycare program for the teachers' kids. a news program would be an excellent idea! i've seen kids play on phones rather than reading actual books and it breaks my heart because that's not what i did when i was a kid. i did have a gameboy and DS but it was either given to me since i couldn't afford one at the time. i mostly had those education based shows and programs like leapfrog (i had their little DS) and superwhy. i think there are news programs for kids but no one barely is even informed that they exist. one of the things that has changed is media. when i was growing up, media wasn't such a huge thing but now it is so incorporating current events is important. i was fine without news coverage but i think kids need it now more than ever since it's all we ever talk about.
***** also props to you for doing childhood based jobs. during my time there, i could not handle the toddlers at all. i wanted to squeeze them because they kept on crying and crying and it gave me massive headaches. i think i am more fond of 5 year olds+ since i can communicate with them more than toddlers. i like to have communication with kids. the course definitely made me warm up to kids more, even if i still don't know how to handle them.

Almost every culture in the universe has some concept of an afterlife. I always meant to have a look around, see if I could find one. CLARA: You're going to help me? Betrayed my trust, you betrayed our friendship, you betrayed everything that I've ever stood for. You let me down! CLARA: Then why are you helping me? DOCTOR: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?

Because they get paid alot.

I like Alex Kingston's speech about Children's television. A good point and very well made.
"teach kids not to use guns" point well made
There's stuff for pre-schoolers that's educational but everything past that is... well yeah
I'll never be tired of Matt's reactions to anything Alex says
