I just went to one of your locations to check out both the shell version and the insulated one. A couple of things puzzled me after looking at the care instructions.
First- Instructions say to close the loops and hook. What are you referring to?
Second- Washing instructions say to not use detergent. So how does one wash it?
My other concern, more like a quirk. I'd be buying the shell if the pocket configuration was layed out the same as the insulated one but it isn't. Why? I lose the hand pockets completely. Sigh....
Anyways, I'm patiently waiting for the HH store to contact me on availability for the 2x insulated version as I tried the XL and it seemed snug. A bit snug after adding base layers to the mix. So I'm hoping the 2x will work because I love the coat and the materials being environmentally friendly is a great plus.
I'm in a group of "unofficial" SAR people that look for missing hikers and there are times in the winter that this thing will be a life saver for sure.
Would appreciate a response sooner than later(mgr is set to call me in a day or so) on my care instructions concerns so I can make an informed final decision.
    Thank you!

      1. Hook and loop is what you might call Velcro which is the brand not the name
      2. 3:05 He is referring to a tech wash like the one made by NikWax. You should look into using their cleaning, conditioning, and waterproofing products for all of your technical garments such as softshells, down equipment, base layers, wools, and leathers. Exceptions being products like Lifa Infinity Pro TM which have a layer of fabric that takes the place of a chemical DWR so they only need to be cleaned. Not only will this lengthen the life of your garments but it will also improve the performance. Would recommend.
I bought the Verglas Infinity Shell last year, put it through the paces, and am very impressed with its durability and performance. I was skeptical with how the DWR would hold up without applying new coatings but man, this thing sheds water like it's new! Next time you are in the market I would recommend giving HH another shot, they make great gear. Reach out to one of their staff and they would be more than happy to answer any questions.
I am in no way affiliated with any of the mentioned companies

@@onelastgoodanon5904 I know this is one year old already, but to help me decide- what steered you toward a DWR jacket like Verglas Infinity Shell, instead of the no-DWR Lifa ones? thx
