    turning off blood is kinda realistic - zombies would not bleed as their hearts are not beating - i've set my RAM to 24gb as i have a Matrix platinum 24gb :) - i didnt know about the zoom - got everything else - i also have nearly 800 mods running with "no" conflicts (ok the occassional crash but hey)

      When I say RAM I mean RAM memory, not GPU memory. PZ uses the GPU (graphics card) very little.
      Check how much Memory you have on task manager, on the performance tab, and set it accordingly. allocating more RAM than what you have available will cause system instability and BSOD's in the worst case scenario.

    Allocating more RAM prevents this game from starting. I`ve chosen the 16GB option since I`m currently playing on my old PC. *Edit: I left that RAM allocation unchanged, but now subscribing to the better fps mod causes my game to crash before I even hit main menu. I´m assuming it´s some conflict with another mod since I have around 90 mods installed by now and it seems to work properly for many other people. I`m also running the textures optimized mod in performance mode, which is already enough for me to have a good time gaming.

    • @Healcraft

      @@sen_sf x3d is generally lower clock than non. Like 5800x3d vs 5800x. But maybe there is no cpu that can maintain high fps zoomed out on 1440p

    • @sen_sf
      @sen_sf  Месяц назад

      If you have a 5800x3d make sure it's actually boosting from 3.4Ghz to 4.5 Ghz. You should be able to achieve similar results to me as I'm also at 1440p, as long as your Ram is running around 3000Mhz. Higher than 60fps would require a better CPU and faster RAM, and the 250% zoom is really intense as it doubles the amount of pixels the engine needs to render at 150%. Or at least that's how Beard explained to me on Discord.

      8gigs is cutting it really close, open your task manager with project zomboid running, and see how much free RAM you have, I would suggest to set a minimum of 4.5gb anyway, but put as maximum however many you're left with, my guess is 5gb tbh.

    • @sen_sf
      @sen_sf  4 месяца назад +1

      Hmm, you must have like 5Gb of cache being created. 8Gb for Windows 11 isn't really great, you're left with just about 4Gb of RAM to play games with.
      It's not going to help you much as the problem with the RAM allocation resides with the fact that when you get close to fill the RAM (80%- leaving 1 GB free to do RAM things) it starts creating cache files in the disk (virtual memory) and that's where the slow down comes from, as the disk- RAM speeds are slower than RAM-CPU speeds.
      What I'm trying to say is that your CPU is working constantly with the cache, limiting its use for the game itself. And PZ is mostly CPU heavy.
      The better FPS mod doesn't change the zombies behaviour at all, I'm using the 1080p version, and they keep doing zombie things all the same, migrating and stuff. The draw distance is something that should come with build 42 too. The mod is simply making that available now.

    • @sen_sf
      @sen_sf  3 месяца назад +4

      @GotMeatloaf I'm not sure if you need to, that CPU should never reach 100% like the rest of us plebs :D
      And if you're on MP it should matter even less, as the server will deal with all the load and RAM things.
      Technically, the limit for the increased RAM is 19 Gb, because it's 16Gb for the server and 3Gb for the game to run. But in multiplayer, if you max out the server at 16Gb it's exactly the same result.

    i use a quad pro graphics card, any fixes?

    • @sen_sf
      @sen_sf  4 месяца назад

      From what I know, quadro pro GPUs are made for stuff like rendering and workstations. So more often than not, they'll have worse performance than the gaming versions of it as they don’t handle older OpenGL code well.
      If PZ is not running well on it because of the GPU, the only thing I can think of is trying to reinstall the game, first uninstall the game then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there, as Steam can sometimes not remove everything.
      After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder to preserve your saves and ensure you get a clean install just in case there is a file somewhere creating a conflict.
      Of course you can also try the integrated graphics card, but depending on you motherboard and CPU you might have worse performance still.

      The easiest way is to check if your memory allocated for PZ in the task manager is going above 3.2 Gb.
      For example, at the moment the soldier run that I'm doing shows 12Gb allocated for PZ, whislt before I do that change it will only show 9Gb ( I had to verify files between runs)
      It's easier to see the more mods you use. But your most obvious check should be your fps and reduced stuttering as you play. Press the "K" key to check FPS with the in game FPS counter, or enable the Steam overlay.

    the better fps mod made my game lag even more 🤣

      First time I've seen that happen, the rendering of the game is reduced with that mod, so I'm quite surprised by it. It's a change that B42 is going to bring to the game as it improves performance, so you might have something else going on there.

      @chillinbone590 weird. You shouldn't have any performance issues to start with. When you said nothing changed, what do you mean?
      I have a i7 6700k @4.6 64GB RAM @ 3000 and a GTX 1080. And without mods it sticks to 60 fps. With mods, depending on what I'm using it varies between 15 and 60, 15 when I'm driving and there is 200 zombies finding paths around me with authentic z changing how zombies look.

      @sen_sf before I used to get 200 fps in game with all of my mods and then in the middle of playing it started to tank so I went in the middle of nowhere where no zombies were and I was still getting 30 fps (I allocated 20 gigs of ram )

      @chillinbone590 There might be some mod doing that. Not with that CPU.
      For example, a single Sandbox Option (months after the apocalypse) was disabling a mod and cutting my fps by 20.
      You might want to try PZ discord, on the mod help section, and see if someone can help you after you give them the logs.
