The green-screened dice tray overlay is a brilliant idea and I love it.
To be honest, I think he's got a better setup than the guys at miniwargaming. That 3-axis camera above the battlefield is pretty useful too.
Yah this is the first real innovation I've seen in battle reports I've seen in a long while. Usually improvements come in the form of intros, narrative campaigns/higher levels of production overall including terrain pieces. The dice over the top of the action is way more intuitive and organic

The Khan even left his bike behind and is on foot now. He knows the Ravenwing are just much better bikers.
I've said it once and I'll say it again this is the best representation of actual warhammer. Constantly looking up rules, get angry at the die rolls, messing up rules and forgetting them, comand rerolls NEVER working, and RNGesus being a total dick. Absolutely love it lol

Gotta say I really like how they talk through the rules affecting things in game. I remember watching battle reports before I got back into 40k about 6 years ago and it made it a lot easier when stuff is explained!

Edit: they seem to be treating Eradicators as having 2 wounds so I guess they won't be too bad
All marines have two wounds now, not just the primaris but regular too, some have 3(cheating bastards). on the plus side, Heavy bolters bot updated to two damages. making russ with executioner autocannons and heavy bolters is marines worst nightmare.
@@Jaegerrants I know that, but Eradicators have 3 wounds on count of them being Terminator equivalents usually.

tabletop sim has been perfect for a lot players, theres an active lfg type of people in chat all the itme and even some leagues. i rather play in person myself, but tabletop sim does help scratch the itch for me. Pappa Nurgle loves his children!!
Yea table top sim amazing, had to sell my Battle Sister army :( for $ during covid, $1200 army, warhound Titan etc, but atleast still have that army on TableTopSim 😎🐻🇨🇦 and army went to amazing fan.

The dice tray, the animations, this is fantastic. The camera movement is a bit blurry, but it's cool to have cameras so close to see the details on the models. Wow. Just wow.

You know I’m very impressed with the board game setup. I never really been one to watch others play a board game unless it’s for understanding how the game works but I can’t deny how awesome this setup is.

I'd love to get into 40K, but it seems a bit daunting to get started, especially since none of my buddies are interested in starting.
Local Gaming places when the pandemic is over is always a good place to start searching for new pals and games.
you can start small, you can even start with kill team. thats 40k skirmish battles. if you choose the right facrtion it is possible you only have to buy 1 kit.

Few small mistakes though.
Eradicators have 3 wounds each.
Also the Cadians can only reroll ones to hit if they stand still. If they move at all they lose the ability.

Wow! Amazing production quality and editing! The dice overlay is brilliant! Genius! This is probably the most fun way to watch a battle report I have ever seen. There's obviously a lot invested in the equipment but the result is worth it.
I love the use of special effects.
The way you filmed this was the best I’ve seen. I’m new at this. Everything made since and the pace of the video was fun to watch. I like this better than when people stop and explain and the video stretches out to an hour.
Great job. I'll just add a scoreboard to keep track of the primary and secondary objectives.
Joe has to chill with the rain grenades he’s chucking at his enemies. Rules state only one mode per unit can throw a Grenade per combat phase.
It's actually a Strategem that let's me throw more of them at once. 40k has Strategems now!

His Thunderhammer wounded the Chimera at 30:18 since a Chimera is T7 and the Thunderhammer is S8 on a marine :)

I never played warhammer so I'm not really sure how all this works, but I wish there was more of an ongoing storyline rather than just random battles.
Really appreciate the edits to fast forward the less exciting moments. I look forward to these ever since the Xmas themed battle report and the Street Fighter one :)
have yall looked at trying out 12mm dice, standar dice are 16mm, they feel much nicer to roll large amounts of dice at once, would take up less space on the overlay if you wanted to try that out.

You can buy those cards at game workshop etc, expensive, but they are handy 😎. Huge 40k fan, still have 4 amazing armies, including wolfhound forgeworld Titans, and Ancient Pattern Reaver Titan conversions, they are unreal Emperor Blessed amazing 🤓🇨🇦🐻
You can only reroll ones for Cadia if you have not moved in your movement phase

Yo Joe, just wanna say that I'm loving these battle reports .and it's getting me to finally paint my army but because of my loving of art and creativity, I can't make up my mind on what colors I want. Because of what I see what you guys did/do with your armies, I want to make them pop. Anyway, keep this up and I can't wait to see more stuff, love the Imperial outfit.
Hadn't watched one of these since the first one--massive leap in production quality, very enjoyable! Just get the shaky cam in the initial unit overview under control please ;) perhaps use a gimbal or something.
This seems completely improvised all around and i still love it!
But with just a bit more 'production value' this could be a GREAT show!!
Some small mistakes i spotted (i dont play either force):
-Eradicators have 3 wounds instead of 2
-Only one model in a unit can throw their grenade in the shooting phase, not each model in it

Actaully you can get conscripts with a 2+/5++ save.. Or FRFSRF with 120 lasgun shots... Conscripts are great.
Koadster oh Im not saying conscripts are bad, they’re great. It’s just the average guardsman’s life expectancy is 15 hours.

I preferred the camera on the arm above the table, the shake wasn't as bad as the "Blair Witch" cam on the tripod at the beginning. still a sick video though.

I feel that first space marine turn man, I used to play Thousands Sons before the Battle Bunker near me closed, back then I think it was 5th edition and the Rubricae move 1d6 inches per turn, not extra, 1d6 total. Every time I rolled a 1 on the way to the objective me and Ahriman facepalmed.

So I think you need 60fpd for these videos. Its just very blurry when moving the cam around showing the army. Also probably a fully handheld cam. Watch MWG studios. I'm so excited to see you doing this tho... i had no idea!
