9:24 As a trans man who regularly has his testosterone levels checked, this is especially funny to me... because if your testosterone levels get TOO high, your body converts the excess into estrogen. This is why athletes who use steroids can develop breast tissue!

Hey I'm sorry for bringing up this question but about testosterone, it's NOT true that it makes people aggressive right?
I keep seeing these videos about doctors telling transgender patients that they'd regret it because it would make them aggressive. I don't believe they're true but I just want to know. Do they say that to make people think testosterone is bad?

    • @Arcane_Archer
      @Arcane_Archer 7 месяцев назад +14

@@zweetsouffle9567 IDK about aggressive but it did make me a bit more emotional, like touchy, at first. That went away after a while. Think of it like how anyone would feel going through puberty - that's literally what it's like, second puberty!

@@Arcane_Archer I appreciate your reply, thank you. I haven't started testosterone myself and wondered if there's something somebody would already know who's taking testosterone that I don't. Getting use to hormonal change is one thing but when I see these stories about testosterone making people aggressive... It's really odd. (I'm trans myself. However I'm not in a safe environment to start testosterone or anything else of the sort.)

I'm glad you are moving past it, these "alpha males" aren't trying to help anyone, they are appealing to a particular market of men and lining their own pockets.
It must have been absolutely exhausting constantly worrying about doing this and that, how you look, act etc that you must do this to be successful.. ugh these videos are exhausting to watch let alone follow.
What's frustrating is if these men just acted like themselves, they would be far happier and more successful in all aspects of their life, these men act like they know how we think as women and what we want, and they just don't.
It doesn't matter if someone is gay or not, we aren't going to date someone who is fake, and basically being a character, we just want an authentic person,
I would much rather a nervous guy just walk up to me and blurt out that they are super nervous and wanted to be all cool like but that isnt them, but theu wanted to get to know me, not act like Andrew tate.
The worst videos I've seen are when men who are clearly not successful dating wise pretend they are, and then make videos talking about how we think, feel and act. There's a video you can find of a guy who hired this woman to stand in so he could show off his moves and I dont think I've ever seen a woman regret signing up for it as much as she did and man she TRIED to look how he wanted her too but he was so bad it hurt to watch.

Including what i ate. My grandfather was dying and made me promise to get out. He left me his mobile home to sell to pay for a down payment on a place and a vehicle. It’s exactly what i did. I’m now disabled due to chronic illness and i live in excruciating pain. Tattoos are a way for me to have control in something. It also releases endorphins that remind me what it was like to live pain free a decade ago. My SO of 12 yrs is nothing but supportive and has never told me what i can or cannot do with my body.

I vaguely remember an account, I don't remember if it was on TikTok or if it was videos at all, but he made content appealing to the "alpha male" aesthetic but with ACTUAL good advice. He said things like "alpha males make the people around them feel safe, because that's what it means to be alpha" and that kinda stuff. He was also very trans positive and iirc a feminist as well. It was like an account trying to get these teenage boys away from the Andrew Taint copies and give them actual life advice and confidence.

I saw a clip on shorts that sounded like that. It started with the girl passed out on the couch, and the person making the video was this big buff bro with a tight t-shirt. And he starts out saying I'll show you what a real man does when he finds a woman like this. And then he goes and gets a blanket and a pillow and he rolls her on her side so that she throws up she won't choke and then he covers her up with a blanket. He says that's what a real man does. Or similar. So it takes like these videos and turns it on its head into something wholesome.

I can smell his insecurity from a mile away as well. The micro managing, the anxiety that he would be perceived as weak, the constant having to prove his worth through external actions and things, its quite sad. I'm just happy that he hasn't told his wife that she has to stay at home and take care of the babies or (from what I know) controls what she posts online.

The whole class thing is just ridiculous. My parents didn't care for tattoos or piercings and my Dad always joked and said they were were stupid but never said anything about class or anyone else with them for that matter just joked with me about mine but supported me in whatever I wanted to do regardless. One day one of his "upper-class " intellectual friends said to him, "your daughter sure has a lot of tattoos huh?" Must be disappointing. My Dad without skipping a beat replied; "at least I know where my daughter is." Which a a low blow my Dad would normally not make to anyone especially to someone who didn't have a relationship with their child, but it really outraged him that someone would love or not love their child because of tattoos was awful. These guys are just so insecure and judge people because of and based upon in their own insecurities.

The weird thing is tattoo's used to be a symbol of being upperclass in Victorian times... until the tattoo machine was invented in 1891 and then everyone was able to afford them (like they could just walk into a tattoo studio to get them, rather than pay a traditional tattoo-ist to spend an extortionate amount of time making an art piece), then suddenly the upperclass decided they were now a symbol of being of lower class because they wanted to establish themselves away from the "plebs".

What's sad is this kind of thing isn't even new. I know my high school boyfriend (so like 2012-2014) was constantly on websites devoted to turning boys into men kinda crap. Art of Manliness was one, I remember. There were two others that I don't recall the names of. Art of Manliness didn't seem awful; more a guide for guys who want a traditional masculinity but don't have a father figure to guide them. I recall him trying to keep one of the others from me. I saw the URL one day, typed it in on my computer, and was inundated with articles about controlling your partner and stuff. But I was like 17, so I didn't think he'd be like that. He was. Tried to convince me I should be a trad wife whose sole purpose in life is to take care of him and pop out a bunch of babies.
Anyway. I simply do not trust anyone who indulges in that sort of media now. It's all so toxic and preys upon the insecurities of young men. If someone judges you because you're not traditionally masculine, you don't need them. Just do what makes you happy.

there is SOOO much to unpack with all these clips.
As someone who has been in the BDSM community for years - if you have to tell someone you're an "alpha" or "top" or "Dom" - then you're not
When you said the comments about "authority and obedience" shouldn't be part of a relationship - wellllll, for the vanillas, yes, for those in HEALTHY D/s dynamics - that IS part of it, but there's that HEALTHY caveat there
the one guy yelling about being in the gym and make money and you asked if people actually respond to that kind of behavior - the short answer is "yes" - there are people that actually DO respond to that kind of behavior and are motivated by it
it may not be healthy that they respond to that - but they do - and it motivates them (think about people who respond well to being yelled at by a drill sgt in boot camp)
the problem is when the person doing the yelling is narcissistic and manipulative
ugh, the only thing I can hope for is that people will raise their sons better to not be like this and to not follow this, and that people raise their daughters better that they don't get involved with people llike this - lord knows I've done my best with mine (on both parts, as I have one of each) the rest is now on my kids to utilize what I've taught them

    • @jessicaolson490

And he poisoned my ex's (they were bffs before I came into the same workplace as them) mind with that shit and it immediately ended the relationship. It's an incredibly long story but ONE of the things he literally was saying to me was that a woman NEEDS to be afraid of her man. Like if she's not she won't respect you or stay with you or some other shit. It was so frustrating. We had a good relationship for years and then all that happened and ruined it. And after the break up he fell deeper into it. And I was standing there like "Bruh I've been by your side loving you and giving you everything without you having to be this type of dude". He projected that shit all over me and just wouldn't listen to me a WOMAN on what a WOMAN LIKES.....WTF. I loved his silliness and sensitivity. But I want safe and warm not scary. But he also wanted a super traditional girl that was far right. He would just tear me down at that point. He'd even get aggressive with s3x like slapping me and calling me names and definitely didn't give a frick how I felt or if I got off anymore. He also wanted to force me to have his children. We both did not want children when we started talking and dating. Then all of sudden with this stuff he just needed to have children. And I was useless to him if he couldn't have s3x when he wanted or have his children.

I do think I'd be weirded out if a guy started touching my ear, trying to drive me "wild" like WTF are you doing?

It is in fact weirder to NOT be touched on the boobs during the act than to be touched on the neck.

I'm not even a minute into this video yet but I have to say THANK YOU for the clip of the Bucket woman ("It's Bouquet!") at 0:52!! Keeping Up Appearances has been one of my most FAVORITE shows since I was a kid! 🤣

Something that has really stuck with me is the fact that this "hypermasculine" image that is pushed on to men, is specifically a _male_ fantasy, yet men often believe they will become more attractive to women if they attain it. In fact, that bulging muscular look you see in media is first of all often unhealthy and unattainable. In order for muscles to pop like that, the person has to dehydrate themselves. A Bodybuilder physique is designed for show, not power.
A fantastic example of dispelling the confusion between muscular men being a male and a female fantasy, is two magazine covers of Hugh Jackman. The magazine targeted towards men is him as Wolverine, gritty tank top, muscles bulging and growling face. However, the magazine targeting women shows him relazed, in a comfy sweater holding some food that he has made. Undoubtedly some women will have a thing for muscles and stoic personalities, but generally speaking (as a cis-bi woman myself) women want someone who is kind and understanding, someone who can be there for them, who is soft and huggable. People who peddle this Alpha male persona don't a woman so they can love her and be loved in return, they want a woman who can fulfill the role of cook, maid and sex doll. And worse still, they believe they are entitled to a woman and her body. Women are not men's property, no one is anyone's property - whether you're married or not.

Hugh Jackman holding a plate of cookies and his fuzzy chops is so hot in my mind right now. And I'm ace. 😁

Someone else has probably mentioned it but the funniest part of that whole alpha male tattoo, least the first one, the part with the wolf howling in front of the moon is from an anime called wolf's rain and most "alpha males" will say anime is for "betas" or whatever. So GG to anyone who went and got that tattoo thinking it was "alpha" but ended up with an anime tattoo instead. 😆

I really don't understand the whole "alpha male" garbage. Seems to me it's their "manly" way of saying 'I'm insecure af but don't want to voice it cause it means I'm weak' 😂 Also Hi Roly! I randomly came across your videos last month and have been watching your videos every so often

I laughed so loudly at the ginger "alphas" and your reaction to them that my husband came upstairs to see if I was okay. So I got to rewind and watch it again!

Man. I have a full time job, where I am on my feet all day, and working with my hands(I make signs.) And at the end of each day, after I get home, shower, and eat, all I want to do in that free time before bed, is play video games, because it's my biggest hobby other than listening to music. I love gaming, and my life is definitely not getting worse every time I play a game lol. And looking forward to playing a game after all my other priorities are sorted, helps me get through my long work days.
