    Armando, I've been watching your channel since those days when you used to review android phones and OS and other tech stuff. It's amazing to see you cover another one of my own passion too in the last several years, which is filmmaking. People like you are an important viewing. This is the only video I saw about Zhiyun Crane 4 because I don't really need to see any other after this one.

    You know what, Amando! You are a great Reviewer, you were the reason I bought Zhiyun Crane 3s, you stress Test it to it's limit, the area were you felt you might not be experienced enough, you called Professionals and experienced friends who excel in those fields, you really gave your viewers an indepth understanding of the the product your are reviewing.
    I guess Crane-4 is mostly made for running gun and mostly weddings, light to mid Cinema cameras with light rigging, it doesn't have the Optional extended Arm like Crane 3s, when you mount it on a car rig it has issues, which can be fixed as you said.
    I hope Crane 4S should be on the pipe line soon, cause thats what am waiting for, I will only buy it after I see your review of it and no other person, Only you sir.
    Thanks for time and effort you put to educate us, it's really appreciated.

    Zhiyun keeps their place at second best. The Crane 4 is an iterative update within their own lineup, but it doesn't win over the DJI RS3 Pro which is cheaper where I live and has a way better eco-system of accessories.

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  11 месяцев назад +7

      It really depends on your usage, the RS3 Pro is bigger and heavier. This is huge especially when you're using a gimbal all day, every ounce makes a difference. Also, at least here in the states the RS3 Pro is more money. Makes no sense to pay more unless you truly need the heavier payload capacity or are using third party accessories. If you don't fall into that category then the Crane 4 is a better buy with lots of extra features that I think as a solo operator are useful.

    • @robertochaves4535
      @robertochaves4535 9 месяцев назад

      My understanding is the the Crane 4 can handle more weight than the RS3 Pro. The RS3 Pro load is 4.5kg max, while the Crane 4 is 6kg, so 33% more. Which is crucial for me having an older RED camera that is 6kg with a smaller lens

    • @mondobytes

      It's a term used to describe a smaller form factor camera, just like when someone say's I'm "filming a music video" there's no film in the camera, the proper wording would be "I'm recording a music video" but everyone understands the lingo.

    Hi Armando, how would you rate this 4 against the 3S? Been using the beast of the 3S for sometime flawlessly. This 4 appears to pack alot of muscle in a smaller, functional compact size. In your opinion and experience with the 3S does this 4 out perform it? Thanks in advance 👍🎬 Also are you saying that the 4 is for beginners due to it's ease of use and functionality?

    • @cbuggs1442
      @cbuggs1442 11 месяцев назад

      Don't buy either they both have a design flaw if you only make the mistake emphasizing on mistake we all make them and put in the batteries in the wrong direction and press power GIMBAL OVER . WARRANTY OR NOT who wants to deal with that.

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  11 месяцев назад +2

      I personally like the 3S better, I love having the flexibility of using it with higher payload capacity and also being able to extend the arm to accept larger size cameras. The only benefit you'll have on the 4 is the smaller form factor and weight which if you're using a smaller camera setup maybe the only reason to switch. Yes, the beginner statement was in reference to ease of use.

      @@frontfoot1035 sure but what lenses, accessories did you use, that makes a huge difference. The C500 MKII is only 3.9lbs so it should be able to handle it. Add a cage, v Mount battery and a heavy cinema lens with Follow Focus system and you’ll see the Ronin fail. That’s why they made the RS3 Pro, because the RS3 wasn’t designed for larger setups. In fact it’s impossible to do the Komodo X setup I did on Crane 4 because the arm on RS3 is way smaller. Trust me I’ve used the RS3 and it’s good for small cameras, if you need anything bigger go with the Pro which at that point you’re paying lots more.

      Zhiyun does not give a specific payload. It’s all about having the right balance. I’ve seen people use FX6 so this thing can handle a lot of weight so long as the weight distribution is 50/50

    • @kurtnelle
      @kurtnelle 11 месяцев назад

      @@mondobytes Gimbals do have a specific payload beyond which the arms will snap, especially in higher G environments like on a car mount without a Z axis. Do you know of any youtuber that tests gimbals to failure?

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  11 месяцев назад

      @@kurtnelle That would be a ridiculous test to do because there would be way too many variables and you'd have to break so many gimbals alongside cameras and lenses when it fails to find the ideal threshold of what that number is.
      Nobody in their right mind would do such a test, simply put if you're putting a gimbal through high G force environments then you're probably better of using something like the Ronin 2 with dual arms. This gimbal doesn't even have the proper mounts to be used in such situation making it irrelevant.

    • @kurtnelle
      @kurtnelle 11 месяцев назад

      @@mondobytes It... It wasn't meant to be this serious I just wanted to know if the gimbal would survive being mounted in the back seat of my car with my full camera on it. I've heard from my friends that operate drones that some of the gimbals on those drones get destroyed because of the constant wind buffeting just shaking the thing to bits. This is why the propellers are made to be flexible.

    • @mondobytes
      @mondobytes  11 месяцев назад +3

      @@kurtnelle 🤣 bro one moment you’re talking about G forces the next you’re asking about it being in a car seat. My dude that’s 2 completely different scenarios. I’ve never seen a gimbal fail from being in a car seat, if it does I’m sure nobody would buy it. Also drone gimbals are way more delicate because they’re only meant to carry the tiny camera that’s already built into it. Any additional stress will make it fail which of course makes sense. Not sure if I answered your question but if your concern is carrying a loaded gimbal with a camera around in your car you have nothing to worry about.
