Hi, Have you tried using a bioactive set up( with isopods, springtails, live plants, etc) to more accurately recreate their environment and reduce the need for soil changes? If the soil is changed less frequently, perhaps they might be more inclined to lay eggs. They may also eat some of the arthropods in there, which would allow them to self regulate feeding a bit more. Thanks for a great video!!

Hello, I’ve read that Common Rain Frogs don’t breed in captivity though you have “breeding” in this video. Have you successfully bred these frogs before?
thank you😊 I looked it up, but I couldn't really understand the difference between "breeding" and "raising" in English. Sorry for the misunderstanding. In this case, it means "raising" and not "breeding". As you know, there are very few cases of successful breeding in captivity.

Also for your calcium powder, are you mixing the mulberry calcium and the calcium with vitamin D? Much appreciated!!

@@pampermoony I have gotten him some turkistan roach and fed earlier just now. But he didnt seem to have much of an appetited. Also I think he was bitten by the roach as I found some orange liquid on my hand after carrying him. I washed him with water and put him back in the soil immediately. Any precautions that I should be aware of? Also how long should I leave him eating if I try to feed everyday or once every 2 days?
@@darrelkwai5907 A grain of sesame or a grain of rice is good. If the food is too large, it may cause indigestion, and some types of insects such as crickets are highly carnivorous, so they bite the living body. I feed mine once every two weeks. If you do it once every two days, you will be digging up from the soil frequently, so it will be stressful. I think most of it is in this video. Feeding time is 30 minutes. Focus on eating in a place that is not dark or noisy.
@@pampermoony Thank you for this insight!. I have been wondering why he did not have much of an appetite. I will be reducing feeding time now. Thank you!
Thank you for watching 🤗 I think it's best not to use black soil that you don't really understand. I think soil for tropical fish and frogs is good. When using them, the water content is low, so it is necessary to supply water to create a damp and dry place. It is better that the lower layer is damp and the higher it is, the drier it is 😊
Thank you for watching 😊 Because it contains a lot of soil, it becomes heavy, so it may not be possible to use a small desk. Keep it warm in cold weather as shown in the video and not too hot in hot weather to keep the case from getting stuffy.
I have a question , why not used the leftover soil that has small grains from the kurotsuchi . If it has a high water retention wouldn’t it also be good for them to mix with the other smaller grain ?
Are these frogs good for beginners? these frogs are my favorite and I would love to know! Also do they have to have a roommate so they won’t get lonely?
When it's cold, you need a warmer, and I also have a warmer and a greenhouse. The water also needs to be changed frequently. If you have ever raised reptiles, it may not be difficult. I change the soil once every two weeks. Another important thing is to prepare crickets that are about the size of sesame seeds as food. If it's too big, you won't be able to eat it and it will cause indigestion. It is common to all breeding of creatures, but it is not suitable for people who are lazy. (common rain frogs) (bushveld rain frogs) like to bond with each other, so I recommend keeping at least two. In my videos, I mostly write about breeding, but if you love frogs, I think you can do it 😊
No lights needed. A panel heater is used for heat insulation. I also use the upper heater, but many owners don't. In my case, the frequency of feeding is once every two weeks.
Thank you 😊 I don't use the gallon unit on a daily basis, so I did a little research, but it's pretty big. Considering that it is a little larger than a 90cm tank, I think there are about 40 animals, but if there are more, the soil will become dirty with feces and urine at a faster pace, and the soil needs to be about 20cm deep. I think that maintenance such as soil exchange is difficult. In cold weather you will also need a heater.
Thank you 😉I bought it at a Japanese pet shop. It seems that there are countries that are not imported overseas. Even in Japan, it can only be purchased for a limited period from around November to around March.

Where can I buy all of the soil
I really want one of these rain frogs do you think it can fit on a small desk ?
Thank you for watching 😊 Because it contains a lot of soil, it becomes heavy, so it may not be possible to use a small desk. Keep it warm in cold weather as shown in the video and not too hot in hot weather to keep the case from getting stuffy.
❤❤❤❤
Hi, I am very passionate about this breed of frog. I wanted to ask you where can we find some?
Thank you for watching 😊 I bought it at a pet shop in Japan 🙂
@@pampermoony Oh okey and do you know where we can find this breed of frog on France?
But where can I buy one? I've been searching for a black rain frog specifically
I have a question , why not used the leftover soil that has small grains from the kurotsuchi . If it has a high water retention wouldn’t it also be good for them to mix with the other smaller grain ?
Thank you for watching 🤗
Thank you for your advice 😉
In my videos, I mostly write about breeding, but if you love frogs, I think you can do it 😊
do these need ubv or some sort of lighting? also how often do you feed them
No lights needed. A panel heater is used for heat insulation. I also use the upper heater, but many owners don't. In my case, the frequency of feeding is once every two weeks.
Can I use a reptile heater? What wattage?
The side is a panel heater for reptiles 14W The upper heater is also for reptiles and uses 13W 🙂
@@mcdongle8752 update: i got a tomato frog. Dont worry, a 10g with subtrate, live plants.. springtails and rollypollies, i feed mealworms and mist
What is the name of the breeding farm you're using??
Could u do it in a 20 gallon aquarium
hey is a 67gal tank good or too big or too small?
I know this video is old, but how would you set up a 40 gallon glass tank? And how many frog do you think I can put in there?
Thank you 😊 I don't use the gallon unit on a daily basis, so I did a little research, but it's pretty big. Considering that it is a little larger than a 90cm tank, I think there are about 40 animals, but if there are more, the soil will become dirty with feces and urine at a faster pace, and the soil needs to be about 20cm deep. I think that maintenance such as soil exchange is difficult. In cold weather you will also need a heater.
Length and width over height. 4 would be good in a 40
thank you so much for your guide! I love watching your videos, they take may stress away.

thank you😊
Where do you get them from?
Thank you 😉I bought it at a Japanese pet shop.
It seems that there are countries that are not imported overseas. Even in Japan, it can only be purchased for a limited period from around November to around March.
hello, may i know is that no need to moisture the black soil? the soil itself already got moisture?
Thank you 😊
black soil has high water retention and contains water.
When watered, it becomes very hard.
@@pampermoony ok thank you!! then I don’t spray water to the soil
How do I take care of a rain frog with out breeding ?
Thank you 😊 If you don't want to breed them, how about keeping males and females in separate cases?
