I had a feeling it would come back after they did “Big Brother the best shows ever” a couple years ago. I hope ITV brings it back to the original big brother.
The fact they actually put "Let the mind games begin" in the titles of the final series shown here, shows how much the producers had lost sight of the original concept.
@@tourzrap Yeah partly but it was also mainly about the social experiment aspect of it and how theyre always being watched which is why the other intros have alot of shots of cameras and eyes.
There is something simple and timeless about this theme that they were able to use it for the entire shows duration. Unlike the US version where they try new things and it eventually becomes dated and doesn’t age well.
The theme music was remixed slightly in 2004, and then that version stayed until the end of the show in 2018. This coincided with the name of the show being removed from the title sequences. As I recall there were discussions to change the music towards the end of the show’s life on Channel 5, but it never actually happened.
@@wembleyparkstudios7926 can you find any clean versions of the different themes? I’ve always seen there’s a difference in themes but I can never hear too much of a difference other than the fact it becomes more subdued in BB6 onwards

My assumption is that the theme was made less Trance, and more television friendly.

The vibe of the first ten Channel 4 years were so good. You felt when the titles kicked in for the live feed that you weren't watching a TV show as such, instead the station was just cutting to weirdly sinister, engaging shots of...people on a set...for a few hours. Even with the twists, controversy, obvious editing for building narrative etc it still felt like the purest expression of reality TV. When they started taking them in and out of the house, adding music over it, nameplates etc that was all destroyed. Hopefully ITV's relaunch brings it back to basics, but I doubt it.
This theme song was so recognisable that when big brother came on even my visiting aunt from another country shouted from the next room “turn that disgusting show off” 😂. This was like in 2007 or 2008 😂

I always hoped if they brought it back they would go back to ordinary everyday (and occasionally eccentric) people, but as it's been bought by celeb-obsessed ITV2, my hopes aren't high. I'm sure it's gonna be filled with instagram influencers and "famous" people nobody has heard of.
I agree used to enjoy it as a teenager but after maybe 7-8 of them it started to go bad watched a later one and it wasn't good. Loved the Kim Woodburn one though lol. Like you say the fact it's coming back on itv 2 isn't good as that channel just plays crap basically.
