    If making a magic ring is difficult for you, I recommend to chain 4 and slip stitch to the first stitch. Than make 6 single crochets in the circle. After that you would just continue following the same steps that are in the video!

    hi! i’m new to crocheting and i hope you can answer my questions :) i would like to ask three questions :
    1. why did you make a chain 1 for the pattern, what does it do actually?
    2. when making round patterns, do i always have to slip stitch?
    3. also, when i do slip stitch, it will add one more stitch (e.g inc 6 times equals to 12 stitches, with slip stitch added it equals to 13). do i always have to skip the 13th stitches so it won’t ruin the pattern?
    thank you beforehand! love your tuts, very easy to understand and clearly explained

    • @daMirahandmade
      @daMirahandmade  2 года назад +4

      Hi! Thank you so much, glad that you found the tutorial helpful!
      1. You can think of the chain 1 we make at the beginning of every round as a "ladder" that brings you up to the next round!
      2. Yes and no. There are several ways you can crochet in the round. First, joining method - which we used for this crochet tulip where we chained 1 in the beginning of every round. You will need to make a slip stitch for this one. Second one is the spiral method - this is often used in amigurumi where you don't make a chain 1 at the beginning of every round, instead you just crochet and crochet like a spiral. For this one you don't need to make a slip stitch.
      3. It does look like you have added an extra stitch, but it doesn't actually count as a stitch. You can just think of it as a "connector" that helps encloses the round. Since it doesn't count as a stitch, yes, you will not work into the slipped stitch/13th stitch when crocheting the next round.
      Hope this answer your questions! Goodluck with your crocheting!

      *I do it:*

    Hi I was wondering why my tulip continues to get bigger with every round, but I'm following the instructions exactly

    I want to start learning how to crochet was wondering if the size of the hooks make a diff?
    Like what if I used a 3mm hook instead of the size 5 mentioned here?

    • @daMirahandmade
      @daMirahandmade  2 года назад

      Hi, the size of the hook does make a difference. It depends on the yarn you are using: the bigger the yarn, the thicker hook you need and vice versa. The size 5/0 mentioned in the video is actually the Japanese standard hook size that is equivalent to 3mm when converted into millimeters.
      If you are looking for crochet hooks/yarn for this crochet tulip, we recommend finding the closest one in size as the video.

    is there a reason why you slip stitch after every round instead of just going to the next with a single crochet?

    Hii! First of all I want to thank you for your amazing tutorial!! It is very easy to follow even though English isn't my first language hehe
    I wanted to ask you a question because I didn't see it specify anywhere so: do you give permission to sell the plushies we make with your tutorials to people with small bussiness? I try to sell thing I crochet to be able to buy yarns and materials to learn more! so it would be awesome if you give me your permission for that. It is okay if you don't want to :)

    can someone please tell me the difference between an increase and a single crochet? I‘m not native english and i just don’t get it by watching

    • @daMirahandmade
      @daMirahandmade  2 года назад

      Hi! For single crochet you only crochet one stitch into the stitch, but for an increase you crochet two single crochets into a stitch.
